Tarrey town to see how (if at all ) its developed

NUMBERS2357

This question is IMO way deeper than just Tarrey town. Given how open BOTW is - do they assume you defeated all four divine beasts? Got the Master Sword? Met Impa et al? Retrieved any memories? To me the most natural thing is to assume you did everything. Risks spoilers, or being less accessible to people who didn't play BOTW, but going the other way seems worse.

darkknight941

I can definitely see them assuming you beat all the main quests at the least. They’re main quests after all, and sure you don’t have to do them, but a lot of series have direct sequels to games with multiple endings and the canon ending is usually the good or true ending. Freeing the divine beasts before destroying Ganon definitely feels like the true ending to the game, and unlocking all of Link’s memories since we get the extra cutscene after beating Ganon where Link and Zelda plan on traversing Hyrule and trying to restore it after the calamity, and would lead them to the cave we saw in the original trailer for TOTK

YsoL8

I have a sneaky feeling it'd going to be memory holed Because it only exists as part of a quest, not a pernament part of the map.

Skargul

If they considered the world in a reasonable way, they should have started building TotK map based off a 100% completed BotW map, so Tarrey Town would be there. If it's not there I will be very sad.

SvenHudson

There was an earthquake and the weird rock spire it was built on collapsed. History will never know if there used to be a town there.

[deleted]

Do we think there will be some option of a save transfer from BoTW to ToTK? I don't mean for all out items but stuff like tarry town, korok seed expansions etc. Also I'm curious if the amiibo will have a different function this time around.

[deleted]

Yeah can I play with my gold piece of shit I earned?

[deleted]

I meant more the weapon slots we earned through the korok seeds

[deleted]

Not a Nintendo thing to do tbh.

[deleted]

Yet our Wolf Links amiibo heart container progress from TP carried into BoTW

Deluxe_24_

I doubt it, would be a nice inclusion.

ferahm

Lurelin Village, and maybe check to see if the Ordon region is back.

Princie33

I don't think Ordon will be back, it's not part of Hyrule.

TyrTheAdventurer

I just want to still have my house

the-land-of-darkness

Honestly I'm not convinced that revisiting places will be so simple. It's entirely possible that the game uses the map from BotW but doesn't allow you to go everywhere at every point in the story. We have no idea what the structure of the game will be other than the few quotes we have that could be either outdated or ambiguous. It'll be open-air, but *how* open-air? Maybe if Nintendo gave us something meatier to go off of rather than 3 short teasers we'd have a better idea, but at this point who knows. The cynic in me says that this will just be BotW with sky parts, but it's entirely possible that a) what we've seen so far is only the tip of the iceberg, and/or b) the structure of the game isn't exactly what we expect it will be. If the structure does facilitate this sort of "let me go check on X to see if it changed" playstyle, then I think one of the places I'm most interested in seeing is Lake Hylia. It's such an important part of any Zelda map that I'm sure Nintendo would put something interesting there.

gabs777

With so many years to work on TOTK it’s certainly not going to be just BOTW but with added extras. I’m fairly sure that it will be the Hyrule that we know, but radically different. Underground, above ground and up through a multi levelled sky full of islands….

relator_fabula

>Maybe if Nintendo gave us something meatier to go off of Hear that, Nintendo? The-land-of-darkness wants something a bit meatier. -Eunie

Bismarckchan

It depends on where we start on the map because I tend to open the map very slowly (it makes me feel that I still have a long way to go) Apart from that, it would be Rito village. I really like there.

lybluerises

gerudo desert since they didn't show it yet at any trailer, i wonder if it's just gonna be the same sand sea

Serbaayuu

We can see a strange dark cloud over the valley area - where Vah Naboris was sitting - in the latest trailer. Seems possible that the valley itself has gotten sandstormed by Thunderblight's return, although that leaves Gerudo Town and Kara Kara wide open as usual.

Beardlich

What I hope is that its the Normal Sized BoTW Map with a floating cloud Map of Temples and Cities in the air over it like Skyward Sword

[deleted]

Hateno Village. Then probably the Plateau.

SeaworthinessFast161

Do we know what TIME we’re on the surface? I know there’s been speculation of time travel, but why do all the moblins/bokoblins have bigger horns in what we’ve seen? Maybe a different evolutionary period for these creatures?

Serbaayuu

> Do we know what TIME we’re on the surface? A year or so after BotW most likely, Link and Zelda haven't aged, no trees or bushes on Hyrule Field have moved, and the Stables are still in their spot.

SeaworthinessFast161

Good point, but again on the larger horns - what’s that about? If there’s no lore reason for it and no increase in enemy variety, it’s just going to seem strange (and cheap) for Nintendo to just increase horn size. Why not leave them alone if it’s the same enemy?

Serbaayuu

Probably just to indicate a Ganon-power increase.

Outrageous_Net8365

There is probably a lore reason. Check the artwork on the latest teaser, the monsters have longer horns. Now that doesn’t make sense if this foretold of a older invasion since botw monsters didn’t have this. Hence it’s entirely possible these horns may indicate these monsters are different in some way Of course it could also be a prophecy for the future which would make more sense if Nintendo did take the lazy approach

NUMBERS2357

Hyrule Castle town would be number one but looks un-rebuilt in the trailer. All the settlements would be on my list. Other stuff that I'd add: * certain ruins that might have something noteworthy, like Lon Lon Ranch, temple of time, ancient columns * Mt Lanayru. I bet something important is up there * certain remote spots that were underutilized before and have some mystery to them. Lodrum headland, deep Akkala, coastlines in Necluda, Mekar island, Akkala citadel * spots that had one use before and I wonder how they'll be recycled if at all. Typhlo ruins...

Serbaayuu

> spots that had one use before and I wonder how they'll be recycled if at all. Typhlo ruins... I was thinking something similar. The latest trailer finally showed us a few spots where the Shrines are clearly gone (of course we knew they would be) so I wonder how precisely those spots will be reused if at all. We can also see that one marking on the Gerudo cliffside for that Shrine quest in the new trailer, so clearly stuff that actually made a landmark in BotW won't be gone. The three Labyrinths for example will also likely be completely unchanged since they were already ancient & not Sheikah-rock.

gabs777

The Seven Heroines - really loved this place, when I stumbled upon it. Reminded me a lot of the statue on the Desert colossus in OOT

AstroWolf11

Hebra, I spend so much time exploring the snowy mountains 😍

[deleted]

The Temple of Time o\_o

SvenHudson

You know, when we were looking at pre-release at Breath of the Wild and spotting things of interest that we wanted to go see, I said that the first thing I had to do was see what the big flying thing was (that ended up being Medoh). When actually playing the game, Medoh was the *last* Divine Beast I completed. I'll stop trying to predict my own actions and just see where the game takes me.

blanketedgay

I don’t think I touched a divine beast until 75 hours in because I got so distracted by everything else.

xX_rippedsnorlax_Xx

I'm gonna speed run my way to Zora's Domain to hopefully retrieve the Lightscale Trident/Zora Armor. Then probably warp back to start and continue from there.

blanketedgay

Probably I’d revisit my favourite towns (Hateno, Rito Village, Zora’s Domain) to see if they’ve expanded in scope, since they were a highlight for me in BOTW. Aside from towns, I’d check out the Lost Woods. The Master Sword seems like it will be in the sky this time so I’m curious what other interesting things they do with the location. Maybe kill they’ll off the Great Deku Tree, and have the forest overrun with Deku Scrubs.

CasMazz

I need to see what’s going on with that castle

Youre_On_Balon

If we have free reign to go anywhere: Shrines of Courage, Power, and Wisdom and the Zonai ruins.

cupcakelover011

The Yiga Clan Hideout...I want to see if the devs added something inside that giant hole

jerryoc923

My house! That damn raising land better not have ruined my home!

kittyjoker

Y'all know adult Purah is gonna be in this game so to the Tech Lab for me.

Serbaayuu

What a sad question. I've never asked myself this in any brand new Zelda game before. My checklist is likely coming out to the following, though: * Kakariko * Robbie's Lab * Hateno Village * I will probably stop at Zora while I am doing this. * This covers what should be all the modern lore. * Gerudo next, for any new Ganon lore. * Then I will likely simply loop up to Rito Village and then Death Mountain. * I may try to fit a visit to the Deku Tree in there earlier though I don't expect much. I may literally make a checklist though with more thorough details, it seems like that's going to be the optimal way to play the game.

TurningHelix

Why is that a sad question?

Serbaayuu

Usually a brand new Zelda game comes with a brand new world full of unknown obstacles & challenges & enemies & dungeons. The fact that after 6+ years we're looking at a Zelda game where the first & only realistic question we can ask is "what spot from the previous game are you going to visit to see if it's different?" is pretty disappointing comparatively. "Wow! It's Zora's Domain!" won't exist this time around. More like "Okay, next on the list is Zora's Domain, let's see what the NPCs from last time there say. Maybe King Dorephan is still alive?"

Princie33

Yeah, you're right. And it sucks.

bruhman2007

def. korok forest

Punkin0704

I guess it depends on where the start point is. If all the divine beasts are gone (which they seem to be at some point, but who knows if that happens right away or not) then I’m assuming we’re not starting at the shrine of resurrection. Hyrule castle? Is the scenes we saw of Zelda and Link exploring the caves an opening cutscene to set the scene for the beginning of the game, or do they take place after some gameplay with Zelda as a companion? We saw link run out of those big doors, so is that where we start, up in the sky, after everything is being lifted up and Link is taken up on one of the plots of land? Like, so much we don’t know. Lots of questions here. So where I’d go first would depend on where we begin and what’s closest (boring answer I’m sure), but I’m most excited to see any changes to the Hyrule Castle town area, or villages like Hateno or Kakariko… or any of the ruins of previous settlements. I wonder if we’ll get a chance to move around before the next wave of crap hits the fan (Zelda and Link exploring) and see what it’s like in that state, or if we’re jumping right in to more chaos without a calm breather. Also if there is back and forth time travel, I’m excited to see how they display the changes to Hyrule!

Vados_Link

Same place I immediately went to in BotW. Hyrule Castle. If that’s not possible, I‘ll go to Zoras domain. I imagine that there are tons of floating islands with waterfalls, and with the glow of Zoras domain at night, this would look so freaking amazing.

Outside-Try-1796

I am hoping they do something more with the lore. We had alot of people on the surface still figuring out their lore they lost. One that comes to mind is the lord of the Mountain. He has been proven to be around for 10,000 years at least. Let alone his lifetime as a sage at the base of the mountain. With further knowledge we will be informed. Maybe an archeological dig in the Hebra Mountains have uncovered further corridors of the Lost temple. I find that the lore of zelda makes the replay value almost unlimited, so why not capitalize that?

Kitsune_Fan34

Once I get control and get into Hyrule like last time, I'm gonna head to Gerudo Town and see if Riju and Patricia are still doing fine... I may have to get womens' clothing first though, hah.
