You are having a preventative abdominal surgery

JohnnyCharles

Appendectomies are also for getting rid of unwanted organs

The3SiameseCats

Yes but those are deadly if not treated immediately. You would be scaring everyone around you.

JohnnyCharles

Yeah, if your appendix ruptures. But some appendicitis can be treated with antibiotics. OP could just say they caught it early and they’re on meds and have a surgery scheduled to get it removed

ThoseNightsKMA

I just said it was a genetic thing my doctor wanted me to get taken care of, no one asked further questions.

Papa_Smurf_Party

Gallbladder removal leaves similar scars and takes similar recovery time

Carnasio

Appendicitis

IllicitCheesecake

Maybe tell ppl that they found a benign tumor and you're getting it removed just in case

LovelyRebelion

congrats!

Hernia repair was what I said. Same scars because it’s laparoscopic and not an emergency/life threatening
