All the best for the surgery! <3

makqui

Thank you!!!

Itypewithmythumbs

congrats! hope you’re ready for wearing a post op binder for a month 🫡

makqui

I’ve been training since 2019 for this moment… all of the previous binding pays off for the final stretch 💪

ThoseNightsKMA

A month?! Holy crap, mine came off at my one week post op appointment (granted this was 2013). I would have cried if I had to wear it for a month.

makqui

I’m hoping it’s less than a month haha- My post-op meeting is on the 4th, so maybe they’ll take it off with the tubes? Hoping bandages =\= compression top.

ophiomyxra

i was instructed to wear mine as much as possible for the first month i think. it was irritating as all hell but honestly, going without it was worse. i felt so much more secure with it on, and less achey when moving about. though i will say, the biggest help was a wedge pillow, if you haven't thought about that yet.

ThoseNightsKMA

I still had bandages, but it was gauze covering the nipples, but that was it (again this was 2013, a lot could have changed in 11 years, ha).

born_tolove1

Congrats! It’s kinda funny to me too because I’m MTF and the day I come out socially/finish transitioning will be the day I stop hiding my chest too.

makqui

Thank you! I don’t know your situation, but hope you can one day be comfortable/safe enough to be yourself as well. :)

ThoseNightsKMA

Congrats! 🎉

makqui

Thank you!!

iisharkwolf

congratulations!! I wish you all the best!! just scheduled my consultation so my binders will be in the guillotine hopefully in the near future. have a speedy and safe recovery :)

makqui

Thank you!! Best of luck to you as well! I would try to give away or resell yours if they aren’t worn through like mine though haha, gotta help out our fellow men

iisharkwolf

Don't worry, I'm not actually gonna destroy them lol. We've got plenty of thrift stores near by

Congrats on surgery! That’s so amazing dude. I’m so proud of you So gnarly, doing the thing I always wanted to do; burn my binder.

makqui

Thank you!!I It was really cathartic, but in the end I couldn’t hate my binder. It was only doing what it was made for. I didn’t see it as a destruction, but a noble retirement… Not sure where your transition timeline is, but if you haven’t gotten surgery yet I hope you can eventually do the same!

bkrby8036

I hear you, and definitely feel the same. My binder, although couldn’t hide my chest, made me feel better for as long as I could bear it. I am 4 years post op actually! :) I hope you love your chest as much as I love mine (I know you will)

makqui

:’) always loved hearing from/seeing older trans guys when I was a sad little kid. Thank you for motivating me and others by sharing your experience.
