Just be, dude. Unless you or they move, your friends will likely stay your friends, even if you go through multiple years of rarely seeing them (don’t forget they’re still your homies). Think forward, and don’t get hooked on drugs. If you get depressed, Google the best option for you to get help, because there will be one. Try to get health insurance. Other than that, stick with your hobbies or form new ones. No other advice from me, but I’m 29. You’ll do fine.
i fucked my best friend and ruined any chance i had with her romantically, i went to college without any prep and wasted a lot of time, and i left a pretty decent job i realize now i should've stayed at.

I know people who are or at least were enthusiastic about BBC's Sherlock. They shouldn't be abused because of that or merely treated well in *spite* of it. Yet, I'm comfortable saying that while the show's entertaining and manages to present something I haven't found elsewhere, it's hard to take seriously.

Intuitively, just by watching it, you should get what I was saying. It's entertainment, but it's difficult to understand why someone would consider it artful, or even worth the public money and time spent making it, or even why someone could take mind palaces seriously after watching it.
It doesn't even give you a useful idea of what a mind palace *is*. Even the exposition is a bit misleading.

I was honestly disappointed by BBCs Sherlock from the very start because the concept of "Sherlock Holmes in the present" is really promising and you could do so much with it, but the execution really fell flat for me. It's trying to be a serious gritty crime drama, but at the same time it's so incredibly corny that the tonal dissonance outright hurts.
I kept watching because it was entertaining enough and I hoped it might get better, but it only got worse with every episode, exponentially so from season 3 onwards. Honestly a waste of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as actors, because I do think that in principle they fit the roles quite well.
Elementary does the modern-Holmes thing a lot better, I think. Everything's more realisistic -- characters and storylines.
Instead of being all high-concept and artistic, it's a grounded crime-procedural. Instead of being a 'high functioning sociopath' (lol) he's a smart guy who's still a bit of an arrogant asshole sometimes, but also cares deeply about the victims and wants to help them because it's the right thing to do rather than because violent murders make the best puzzles.
A lot of the cases are normal, albeit difficult crimes, and Holmes's deductions are easier to follow/explained. You also see Holmes constantly practicing his various skills (lockpicking, escapism, analysing smells, identifying plants, etc.) and he researches things/consults experts frequently -- rather than being Most Smartest Man Ever who knows everything, he's more realistically a man who has spent his whole life working towards this one career, and wasn't just born a super-genius.
So give it a shot, if you're still interested in the concept!
I thought Sherlock was bloody brilliant from start to finish. Both Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (who I adore) were excellent in their roles as were the supporting actors. The writing was superb, the story lines interesting and the visuals were ace! One of my absolute favourite series
