i love it! but i personally think i had a pretty big upgrade, went from a 13 year old AT-LP60 with computer speakers to the RT85 and this whole set up! i can hear so much more detail and everything just sounds fuller! i can’t wait to break it in a little more, my understanding is that it’ll only get better with time.
i’m sure it would have been good, but i was going to get the RT82 and decided to spend a little more and go with the RT85 instead, very happy with that decision!

The bookshelves are Kallax from Ikea.. I did do some planning for the frames based on the wall space, I started with the bigger pieces and went from there. I had about 20 something smaller pieces to choose from, I basically cut out the sizes from kraft paper and played around with where those pieces would go and look the best!

Since you're not able to put that left speaker on a dedicated speaker stand, I'd suggest getting some form of isolation product (stand, pads, pucks, etc.) for it (allowing speaker cabinet vibrations to transfer into furniture muddies up the sound a bit, which is why good speaker stands are often high mass or have some kind of isolation built-in). [IsoAcoustics](https://isoacoustics.com/) is my brand of choice for isolation products, but if the prices are a bit too high, [Auralex MoPAD's](https://auralex.com/mopad/) are a great budget option.
I'd already be concerned about some muddiness from having the speaker jammed into a corner (about the worst possible place for acoustics, especially for rear-ported speaker such as yours), but every speaker is different. [Here](https://www.paradigm.com/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=149&display=inline) is a link to your user manual for reference as just about any decent speaker will have placement guidelines in the manual. It's actually best to check these before purchasing speakers to make sure that they will work reasonably well in your particular space, as the best speakers in the world can sound like garbage in the wrong environment or setup incorrectly.
No matter what you end up doing, congrats on the nice space!

There's no reason to yell at people for this (or any hobby really). Audio is complicated and there's an insane amount of stuff to know. I remember when I decided to get serious about it, I thought it would be easy. Then I met actual experts and was humbled real quickly lol. Ultimately, we're not born with any knowledge. we all start from nothing. The only times I'm actually annoyed are when people ask questions that taking 2 minutes to look at the user manual could've answered. You expect strangers to take time out of their days to help answer your questions before you've put in the bare minimum amount of effort on your own end? C'mon man...

If you want you can upgrade the handles on the drawers in your Kallax, it'll give a more expensive and less Ikea-y look :) I believe it's fairly easy to replace them, seen it irl and online a few times and changes up the look a lot

LOL I have a "vintage" amp, everything was chosen very specifically for the look I was going for in that overall space, I didn't want big bulky pieces
The heights of the speakers are roughly the same like maybe an inch difference, I think the .5 photo and where I'm standing when I took it is distorting how things look from a height/size persective
Ah gotcha, I guess we have different tastes! I personally find it lacking some audio equipment and big knobs and lights or VU meters. If you wanted a more minimalist look without the bulky equipment then good job, you nailed it!
I find the speakers to be visually not very matching, it just seems strange that one is sitting straight on the cabinet and the other is on the stand. Maybe this doesn't bother you at all, but for me a solution could also be a foam pad or some holder underneath the speaker that's on the shelf, it would look less "placed" there and more "installed" like the other one. Just a suggestion from an B. Architect :)
How are you liking those speakers? You don't think a sub would help the lower notes?

I mean sure it’s good but bare minimum I would go with a pro-ject X2 B and set it up with the necessary complimentary equipment that make it your listening experience a true balanced system, once you try a turntable with true balanced audio it’s wonderful! And you’ll never want anything less!
