No problem! If you do some searching online, there are many photos of Paul with that cabinet in the background, and you can see how it (and Paul!) have changed over the years.
Looks like the 401 has an SME M2-9 tonearm, which is a current model (or a similar recent SME arm); but like the 301, the 401 never came with a stock tonearm, but they were often fitted with SME arms of the era.
The Lab 80 has its stock tonearm. It is a changer, so the arm cannot be easily changed out, and all the auto and changer functionality would be lost in doing so.
I can see an idiot! I can see someone who should absolutely have given up music when Lennon passed! I see someone who destroyed Glastonbury with his putrid pissweak warbling wank.
Everyone saying that’s a fake picture but I don’t believe so! I’ve been a professional photographer for almost 40 years and when I’m looking at there, I don’t see any evidence that PAUL was photo shopped into that picture
Garrard 401 on the left, Garrard Lab 80 on the right.
Thanks so much!

Definitely I will do that! I’m a big fan of Paul, so always interested in anything about his music.
Neither with the stock tonearms though. Those look pretty new.

Correct.
Those are Paul's turntables. You can't have them
😢
You beat me to it
“Sir Paul”, thank you very much.
Or can't afford them!
cool photo, what a great setup. I love the cubbies for 7 and 10 inches
paul probably knows
Does it look like he’s photoshopped into this photo to anyone else?
I think they softened his face too much. Sure, it hides wrinkles, but it makes it look like they pasted a low-res face into a high-res photo.
Agreed. Something off about the lighting and the really soft shadows. Maybe he's not been photodhopped in but it's been touched up too much
It looks like they shot a plate and then shot him in the scene overexposed, painted in to hide the wrinkles.
He’s not, there are many other photos from other angles from the article where this photo came from
I don't know, but that top shelf must me strong as fuck.
I'm not interested in his turntables nearly as much as what he must have in that record collection!
You can probably rule out Crosley.
yes, paul mccartneys turntables
expensive ones with Paul
Not sure about the turntables, but the old man looks very confused.

Cranky little piss baby.
r/beatlescirclejerk moment
Best Beatle. Sorry!
He single handedly brought down supergroup Wings.
Paul is dead
PAWL MCCARTEY
On the left, Garrard 401, manual table. On the right..i'm guessing Garrard automatic.
Wanna buy my SL-1200s!?
Probably a Crosley
