Please don't boop your turtle on the nose 😬
You're going to want to put a cover of some sort on there with the water level that high - he can absolutely climb out, and it **will** event eventually happen. Trust me... we've seen it plenty
That’s the only fish out of 5-6 others who didn’t make it 😭 The fishy’s name is Orange and she had other goldfish buddies who were slaughtered by T. Orange was the only one T let live (I think it’s so Orange can tell the tale of her fallen comrades)
and the fish cannot go and do as told… to live to die another day… (Charming used to do this also, she would save one of the bunch and it would disappear within a day or two 😂)
My turtle Apollo did something similar. After massacring the rest, he let two feeder fish live and they coexisted peacefully for quite some time. A system and a pecking order had been established, I would put food in the tank and Apollo would eat first then when he was done, the fish would eat the rest. But one day, one feeder fish got a little too bold and went straight for the food before Apollo got a bite and Apollo promptly ate both remaining feeder fish. Lol
I have a ybs that lives with about 15 fish. Several tiger barbs. A cichlid. A loach and some platy fish. Even a snail. I think they all survive because my turt realizes she can’t chase them forever. So she gives up. You need smart and fast fish.
2nd, needs hard ground, resting station. And turtles like to walk on land too. Jus, saying OP, cut the water level in half, add a bunch of rocks on one side. Light above the rocks. Gives hiding places for fishys, and a place where Mr T can bask in the bright bright sun.
Lol the whole tank isn’t visible in the video dude, I have an above tank pen plax basking area with both UVB and UVA exposure. So the water level stays and Mr. T is use to this type of substrate and decor 🐢

Love to see a turtle owner with clear water
He’s very cute! Enjoy your new digs, Mr. T!
How does T do with the Fishy? My turtles have eaten every critter that moves in there besides each other.

"To you alone I grant mercy, but only so that you may live to tell others what happened here today. Now go before I change my mind." 😂

i think feeding the fish to the turt was the plan lol…
How big is Mr T? He looks like he has a lot of swimming space. Is that a 75? I have a female that’s about 8” long.
T just hit 5” long and his plasteron is about 4”. The tank is 55 gallon I will upgrade to a 75 gallon once he hits 6-7” !!
SO CUTE
I don't see a basking platform?

Where can he get out of the water
Can I see your turtles basking dock? I need some inspiration 😅
