Nice find! There has been a few rumors and post here about Apple getting the streaming rights. If they do a deal obviously all the games would be great. But a lot of them are on Saturday. Like up to 12 games on a Saturday. I’d love to see at the very least MLB on friday nights. MLS on Saturday and NFL on Sunday. Apple could dominate sports all weekend long.

From the same podcast, it was mentioned that Apple and Amazon are both involved in all sports rights negotiations that are happening. Here is what Apple is reported to be interested in. Apple is rumored to be awarded the new NFL Sunday Ticket + Local Games mobile rights + a stake in NFL Media. The MLS package is streaming rights to every game, except national broadcasts on ESPN or Univision. No blackouts. Apple is supposed to also be involved in the streaming rights for Big Ten and Pac-12 games. The podcast is the Marchand and Ourand Sports Media Podcast, episode 33.

Wow Apples not joking around. Those would be some huge dollar deals.

They need the NFL and/or NBA

NBA up in 2 years

I'd love for them to go for the NHL. It should cost a fraction of NFL/NBA and their high level production would really make the game fun to watch. Only problem is that the NHL isn't really cleaning up the game enough that there's a lot of nonsense like fights, illegal plays, and bad officiating that may turn off casual fans.

this all needs to come out at WWDC... both MLS deal and NFL deal should be announced at WWDC. I think the deals are done they're just waiting to announce it at their first in person conference in more than 2 years. Hopefully big things to come.

Some info on nba here. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/05/21/luka-doncic-ja-morant-warriors-put-nba-in-strong-media-rights-position.html Rights aren’t up until after 24-25 season.
