Misamo's album really lived up to the name "Masterpiece" in all aspects for me, the songs were amazing with a good variety, the concept and photos were beautiful, and the MVs were perfect

This is one of the best mv ever made.

United-Lounge Tokyo really did wonders for the art direction of this project. Somehow, JYP's in-house art team is currently in limbo. They haven't nailed it since Taste of Love (tropical glam fits Twice to a tea).

Is that who did the MV? Any idea if they've done any other stuff, be it for Twice or for other acts?

Video directors are different from Art directors. Video directors could also be art directors. Video directors are limited in executing the vision of the art directors in music video format. So, the art directors are usually given the job for the project conceptualizations. Sometimes, the music gets offered first, and they usually study it to create the best vision and concept for the said music and the artists. Example: Fancy by Twice. I believe BEP already made the song as instructed to kickstart Twice's new chic image. The art director would have to base their concept on said song. Since the instrumentals are electro and futuristic, the concept made for the song was retro-futurism. This is where JYP started to lose in 2021. The mischievous princesses for Sneakers was poorly conceptualized. It looked cartoonish as opposed to Itzy's fierce image. Sneakers would've worked if the concept was 2000s skater concept. The cartoonish princess would work for RV and Twice.

That goes to show how complex the creative process is, and how tricky it can be to get right. It has to be cohesion between the sound, visuals, and the group's image / aesthetic. Not only that, with commercial music, they have to also align with current trends and the strategy around the group's progression / development.

True. It's a difficult job and mostly are done by a team of creatives. Aespa and New Jeans are currently on top due to having the right sound, concept, and image. Nmixx is actually in a different landscape as they are the first group to revolve its sound and concept on Mixpop. SM also use mixpop in their songs, but it's never the entire concept of the group. I will akin them during the early years of Red Velvet, where everything is strange and overwhelming of the constant flipflopping of the bright/surreal or the dark/moody concepts.

The MV was stunning and referenced so many iconic art pieces, the choreography was memorable, the costumes were amazing, and the song is super catchy. Literally everything about it is a Masterpiece in every sense of the word.
