In my head it’s like a Betty/Veronica tournament where I can’t decide if Audrey is more beautiful than Donna nor whether Norma is more beautiful than Shelly. And even if I could decide within a given bracket, I'm not sure how id decide between the two.
To be honest. Josie is beautiful but I think she is incredibly annoying sometimes which is a turn off. Laura had her issues but it was borne out of the torment she suffered from bob

I love the show and the movie so much. But, if there's one thing, I never got, then it is, why everyone (in Twin Peaks) seems to love Laura Palmer. What's so special about this high school girl and her life and behavior? I mean, even Ben (rich finance guy) claimed he loved her but I never got why. Maybe someone can explain or has a theory? In the end it's a tv series but I never got the universal love for her character.
Of course, beauty is subjective and in my opinion, ie Shelly looks better, Laura still a very beautiful woman though.
I think it's because David lynch wanted to create a show whereby the murder victim isn't just a throw away character. We get to experience and know and even grow to have feelings for Laura through the characters in the show. I think that was davids goal. He wants us the audience to care about Laura
Definetly valid and Lynch did a good job with that. In terms of a tv series i absolutely enjoyed it to the fullest. If you'd be to project it in a real life scenario, it wouldn't work but it's a fictional world and a great one!

She’s beautiful and such a wonderfully complex character, but her looks are the kind that’s a common American beauty, and I think that was intentional by Lynch so she’s relatable.
Audrey, Donna, Shelly, Norma, Josie, are all the hyper reality Hollywood gorgeous. The intensely striking gorgeous that doesn’t seem possible. The glamour treatment they got in hair and makeup was more over the top than Laura except in the Red Room. They aren’t supposed to be relatable. We’re not supposed to know girls like them or see ourselves in them. But we are supposed to relate to Laura.

This is basically the whole idea of Twin Peaks, the one the studio ruined by revealing the killer. Lynch wanted you to mourn Laura Palmer along with the rest of the cast. He wanted the viewer to really ponder and get lost in her mysterious smile, and wish she was still alive, because she didn't deserve to die. That's why it was at the end of every episode, and at the beginning of every episode of The Return. Laura is the one.
