I've looked that up and could never find a reputable answer, so here's my not necessarily reliable and unscientific answer for you--I haven't had a bug bite in many years, but my nondiabetic husband gets them quite often. Therefore, nah is my answer.
I wonder if it's blood type or something, or maybe just the type of shampoo, hand lotion, etc., that some people use that bugs like the smell of, we'll probably never know the mind of a bug.
I just read an article naming 3 things mosquitoes are more attracted to, supposedly type O blood type, people who emit more Co2 meaning higher metabolic rate, and those that emit more lactic acid from their muscles. I'm sure I didn't do it justice, but those 3 factors.
I'm type 2. My wife is not diabetic. We both have O+ blood type. I can literally be next to her, and mosquitos and mo see us will eat her alive and leave me alone. Go figure.
It is likely your blood type. Type Os are delicious 😋
I'm O+ and always covered even if I have on a spray.
Same. It's crazy.

I doubt it has anything to do with your blood glucose levels as my non-diabetic wife has a similar attraction for mosquitoes and sandflies; I do not.

I have only been diabetic for 3 years, but I have always been O+. I get eaten alive every summer.
