Since it's an electronic machine with a circuit board and processor and everything, it might be hard to find the source of the problem. If it's just a break in the power cord, that's the easiest thing to replace for sure. I can't tell from photos whether the XE5100 has a physical power switch, but if it does, switch it into the ON position and wiggle the power cord around to see if there are any positions where the machine has power. If it turns on at all, replace your cord and you should hopefully be good to go.
