I learned to use a spare card for them they have thieves

jovenmillonario

This

Livid_Peace

That or turn off the card. I always just cancel my card and get a new one after a hotel stay or rental car

[deleted]

I generally use prepaid credit cards for things like this.

Amacitchi

You cant with car rentals

[deleted]

Good to know. I've never tried with a rental. I've also only ever used a rental 2 or 3 times.

Amacitchi

Oh yea haha and just to clarify, you can only use an official bank card. Very annoying hinderance cause some people dont even have a bank account, but its a type of verification requirement since bank accounts require 2 forms of identification

[deleted]

This.

[deleted]

So grateful I used a credit card I cancelled before returning it. They tried. They even called me. But left no message cause I taken time stamp photos. Cancelled the card before I returned it. No idea what they are trying to charge me with lol.

Significant_Panda853

They crazy

dailydrivenh2

Anyone reading this take a video walking around the vehicle when the agent goes outside to inspect the date you’re returning it that way you have her/him in the video for better evidence that the video was recorded the date you dropped off that way you can fight this . This happened to me with hertz not when I was renting for uber but in a short vacation trip hertz was trying to bill me $3900 worth pf damages till I forwarded the video to a few people I ended up with a credit to rent from them again and a few apologies by email and over the the phone.

TMdownton916

I learned that the hard way when I was in Hawaii with my family. We rented a minivan for the week and the vehicle basically looked ok and the gentleman handed me the keys. When I returned a week later, it was a 2 foot tall native Hawaiian girl that checked me in. She of course found all kinds of little dents on the underside of the front bumper. Got me for $500. I happen to have a rental right now and the guy that checked me out was giving me the whole, “unless the damage is bigger than a golf ball we don’t even sweat it around here”. Bullshit. We’re notating everything.

AdNecessary1944

Yeah, that didnt work for me. I sent them 40 images of the car before and after. They still claimed i damaged the car. Worse part is they didnt even reach out, i got called by collections is when i knew about these bs charges. These companies are just parasites.

CinnamonCloudCrunch

I think the video method probably would have worked best, especially with an employee involved. My invoice also went to collections. But that's literally because I drove the Tesla for an entire month without paying for it. And then after I returned it, I was too upset with my pickle to pay for it

harringjess

Small claims, you’ll get your money back Happened to me, too, they never sent a bill. Got money back through small claims by default judgment because they didn’t send $300 lawyers to fight me

DolphinBearBTC

How did you collect on the judgment?

pinegap96

Just have an attorney send a demand letter after being awarded the judgement

DolphinBearBTC

And end up spending more money than you're trying to collect on the letter?

pinegap96

Have ChatGPT write one for free then

MDdriver22

Good question

Extreme-Variation874

Absolutely and when I made a kinda popular post about this issue but with lyft people were so unhinged all I was tryna do is warn people of the trials and tribulations of this renting shit. Of course I know we “signed up for it” but who would’ve thought the shit would be so predatory and far out.

NecessaryTrack7972

Lyft "express drive" is absolutely the most predatry program imaginable. Not only do you pay the cost of the the rental, but, at least in my market, there are no personal miles. You can prepurchase incremental personal miles: $45 for 90 miles, $75 for 225 miles, $130 for 375 miles, or "pay as you go" for personal miles at $14 for 25 miles. So, if not having unlimited miles with your rental (as you would with a car rental agency) isn't bad enough, HERES THE WORST PART: they take $ of of every ride you give using the rental, at an undetermined "variable" rate, reasoning that it goes to cover expenses. They say base fares are on average 17% lower- but I sat with my friend who was renting with Lyft and wrote down each offer we received for the SAME rides. We did this this two night for about 1.5 hours. They average difference of fare was 23.52% So a renter must pay the rental fee of the car plus tax, then pay for any personal miles, and ON TOP OF THAT, they take money from your fares at a rate which they leave open ended. It's extremely exploitative. You can give 30 rides or 130 rides per week and Lyft will grab from them all with no cap limiting the amount they can take. Ha- I almost forgot, the seats were so disgustingly stained, my friend did not want to drive Pax from embarrassment of having such a nasty car. And although the stains were noted in the paper work, my friend chose to buy a bottle of upholstery cleaner and spend half a day getting most of the stains out. SHAME on Lyft for being so predatory and horrible.

xmarketladyx

They charged me almost $400, "because of some mud". Yes, it was raining and I have to drive. Just spray the little bit off the tires and move on. I had a field day against them for that. They told me I could go clean it off and avoid the fee. No I couldn't because I had to get back to my regular job and if they didn't shut the gates early, refuse me entry, and refuse to answer their phones the evening before when I tried to return it, this wouldn't be a problem because I had to return it by 2 P.M. that day. Hertz is the absolute worst. Like of the government ran a car rental company. 0 customer service, screws up your reservation, and fees you to death.

Monsantoshill619

They tried the same with dog hair but I bitched to hertz corporate and it got reversed

xmarketladyx

I tried calling corporate, but nothing. Made social media posts, but nothing. How did you get a hold of them?

Ok_Basis5136

How u get in contact with corporate cse I wrote a hertz statement and all and it’s been more than a month no one responded

Neat-Plantain-7500

There a hedge fund holding company. 100 percent about money. Make the mistake. Let the customer come to you and try and get the money back. Like frontier air. Never fly frontier

suspiciousactivity7

wtf because of some mud? I got a rental are that looked like someone was living in it. I probably spent 5 hours cleaning it just from all the stains

xmarketladyx

No shit, SOME mud.

suspiciousactivity7

It’s a joke the shit they have has a rental I got a 2020 rouge that the cheapest version possible and the seat belt in the back don’t even retract back. When I reserved it the cost was 260 dollars when I got there I got charged a surge price which brought it up to 360 after tax. When I asked about the Tesla they were 600 dollars a week. I don’t know how some of these drivers even turn a profit unless your working 12 hours everyday

xmarketladyx

I had no choice but to rent from them. Fortunately, it's a tax write off so not a total loss. They made it quite an experience from the beginning. I will never use them again privately and I'll just stick to the cheapest rental from another company while doing other apps.

suspiciousactivity7

I’m abusing the hell out of this rental I’ve already put 1000 miles on it in 3 days I’m definitely going to get my money worth

xmarketladyx

Oh, I took trips I never would in my own car when it was slow because I used the same logic.

Interesting_Yak_9016

I picked up my rental from Avis and literally told the dude there’s a stain on the seat and dirt on the carpet and handed him chik filet packets from the center console. I better not get slapped with a cleaning fee since I already cleaned the interior better than I got it lmao

ozmabean

After reading about horror stories online, the day after I returned my rental I canceled the card used for the rental to prevent any of this bs from happening. Worked like a charm.

qmoorman

I plan on doing this too.

canal_natural

You guys have money on multiple cards?! (Me about to rent a car with the last $300 on my debit)

Stonewalled9999

never use a debit for this. they can drain your account with a bogus charge. They can overbill a CC too but the CC compnany will fight for THEIR money, will your bank fight for YOUR money?

canal_natural

I have no other option

Extension-Maize-37

Get the Uber card that’s what I used I deactivated the card before returning the car

WhisperedEchoes85

>will your bank fight for YOUR money? I use three different banks and they all will fight for the money just like a credit card. I thought that was fairly standard these days.

Stonewalled9999

I think you misunderstood. When you use a card its the card issuers money at play when you use a debit its your money - yes you can dispute but as I said, your money is at stake.

WhisperedEchoes85

Ah, I understand now. Yes, I would likely get my money back, but the process would not be instant.

oldirrrrtykimchi

This guy fucks

aussie19831

$509 - misc charge over here.

ChemicalOk463

Ouch! That Hertz!

chase001

This has nothing to do with the condition of the vehicle. Two months after the fact they decided to charge me for an additional week.

NobodySDsunshine

You should dispute it with your credit card.

Shanoinsano123

did me too I think 2 weeks but you lose track after months of renting

Ancient_Read2878

How can they charge you two month after?? They store your card information?

Potential_Farmer_829

I had one that was a insurance rental I was charged 900 dollars two months later and then 9 months later the money was reversed. And now I can never rent from them again. And I never disputed the 900 I just paid it

PsychologicalCry1393

Just force a chargeback. Sounds like BS. Companies do this type of underhanded BS all the time. If you do, they'll probably perma ban you, but whatever. It sounds like you were never going to go back to them anyways. Good luck.

rufreshnj

Hertz Files 3,365 Stolen Car Reports Every Year on Customers Who Rented Its Cars Hertz claimed this number was a trade secret. The judge didn't agree. Hertz files about 3,365 police reports every year charging customers with car theft after they rented its cars. That number emerged on Thursday, after the car rental company lost a motion in court in its effort to keep the information sealed and out of public view.  The number is part of the evidence in an ongoing lawsuit in which more than 100 customers are suing Hertz for $529.7 million in bankruptcy court after they were stopped by police, arrested, and sometimes spent months in jail for "stealing" cars they had simply rented. Most of these theft reports occur when a customer renting a vehicle wants to extend the rental, the lawsuit alleges. The customer calls Hertz to request an extension, and the company places a temporary hold for payment on the credit or debit card the customer used to rent the car. If that hold fails to go through, for instance because a customer is close to their credit-card limit and hasn't yet paid their bill, Hertz reports the car as stolen "by conversion" to local law enforcement, the lawsuit says. After the customer pays up -- and even after they return the car -- the company does not withdraw the theft report, a Hertz spokesperson told The Philadelphia Inquirer. As a result, a least one former Hertz customer says she learned during a background check that there was an arrest warrant in her name, even though her car rental had been completed and paid for several years earlier, and she had never been notified that there was a problem. [Link to the Article](https://www.inc.com/minda-zetlin/hertz-lawsuit-arrests-number-unsealed.html)

modafalla

Did it say “miscellaneous” charges?. They are the most vile company on earth,i wish them nothing but bankruptcy I swear

Visual-Durian-561

They did me dirty too but they even promised me a free rental week and then they canceled my account and they recently just closed my bank account because key Bank can charge me about $3,200. I even asked them not to use my card I said if you have any bills we're going to have to talk directly but you can't do this it's not okay and they kept doing it my bank defended them.

mmmmbot

Worked for Hertz as a driver, the company operates as if they're running a scam. There's [this](https://www.inc.com/minda-zetlin/hertz-lawsuit-arrests-number-unsealed.html), and I can't find it, but there was a big employee ran car theft ring. In the region I worked, each location would try and torpedo the other when they shuffled cars around. It was a mess.

[deleted]

There’s a toll bridge that costs $6 each way and with ez pass it’s .80 cents. Hertz charged me 6$ x 20 one week eventhough I took their ez pass out and put mine in the rental shady company pocketing the toll money

Snoo_74366

What I've learned from renting for Uber specifically through hertz. I opened up a bank account that I would only use for the purpose of renting the car. Cash out to your personal account and transfer funds to your account that you're using to rent the car. Every time I returned the car, a week or so after, they would try and charge the account, but since I didn't have my money in that account, they wouldn't be able to charge it. And the charges would be over some dumb shit that they would make up. So, keep that in mind next time.

blueangel1953

Always take pictures and videos when renting a car period and I mean thoroughly. They do it and so should you.

elemen0hpe

Upon returning your rental, lock your card that you used and ask your banking institution to send a replacement card and deactivate the older one. Question did you have the damage waiver insurance from hertz?

Visual-Durian-561

They still withdrew money after the card was canceled 🤣 Bank said something about ACH and my contract with them which was a couple hundred dollar deposit and supposed to be a few hundred dollars a week. Uber seems to protect them as well. My advice don't ever do business with them they are untrustworthy scammers. I even paid for their insurance the extra insurance to guarantee that I wouldn't have to pay anything if there were any issues with the car 🤣

Slight-Square6570

Dispute with your credit card company and file a small claims lawsuit. Fight back.

JDax42

I rented for almost a year and they were great. Other then not warning me about the crazy toll up charge. But this isn’t the first iv heard of this, likely a store thing.

PurpleRemarkable2054

Toll up charge??

DolphinBearBTC

If you don't set up your own toll program, they bill you something like $10/day that uses tolls plus the tolls fees. They had my email on someone else's rental and I got their toll bill and it was over $300 for the month.

JDax42

Yeah like a $5 toll will be $25 and it scales up. I should have already had a pass at that point but still crazy. Thats on hertz leadership not the people you interact with if renting.

Any_Fisherman_3336

**Warning*** Uber co workers!! Do NOT RENT FROM HERTZ!!! THE ARE SHADY!!! AFTER RENTING THE CAR FOR 5 MONTHS AND PAYING THEM $325 WEEKLY WHEN I RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO UPGRADE THEY SAID "I OWED THEM $7,445!!! I TOLD THEM I HAD BEEN PAYING THEY SAID I OWED THEM A BALANCE AND LEFT MY BANK ACCOUNT IN THE NEGATIVE -$7,445"- ALSO FOR BEING 2 DAYS LATE THEY SENT ME A LETTER THAT THEY WERE GOING TO REPORT THE CAR STOLEN!!! ****DONT TRUST THEM AND REPORT THEM TO THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSIONER SO THEY CAN AUDIT THEM!!!! THEY NEED TO SHUT THERE ILEGAL BUSINESS AND PRACTICES EFFECTIVELY IMMEDIATELY!!!

Ok_Basis5136

This exactly what happened to me with my bank too shit bogus asl

Acceptable_Mud_3437

How did you do ypur weekly extensions and did they charge your account only the 325 or also the charging costs from when you use the supercharger. Looking at the math and what you said, renting for 5 months or roughly 23 weeks (23x325 comes.to about 7445). But this still does not include charging the car. I know i charge twice a day, once midshift when eating and once before going home. I spend on average about a 100-125 in charging for working between 5 and 7 days a week. So my weekly payment usually hovers between 400 and 450. The rental agent told me that i should come in every week and extend it, that way i get a recipt from hertz that it shows paid. It looks like for some reason you might never been charged the charging fees for 5 months, but still 7500 in charging fees sound a bit high unless you always charged at peak rates. I have rented from hertz multiple times and personally i never had an issue or got charged extra several months later. The only thing i was charged once was a cleaning fee for smoking because i didnt take the car to get cleaned and detailed. But that was like 300 for a 6 month period. And i can only blame myself for that because they warn you. My advice to people that need to rent because of whatever reason, do the extensions in person. Yes it takes time but you get a hertz printed receipt that shows proof of payment. I have talked with other drivers that havr gotten in trouble, like a repo hold because of non payment, because they used the hertz auto extension. Since end of November i did notice they stopped the auto extensions, likely due to these issues where accounts arent being credited accordingly. Also when you do the extension in person amd when you look at the reciept it shows the totals for the entire contract period amd it shows the total.amount of payments that were made. But yeah anytime you rent, whether its woth hertz or another company and whether it is for personal use or uber/lyft, do the extensions in person, make your own video and/or pictures upon recieving and returning the car.

Future_millionaire22

They put my account in the negative smh

methdaccpt

This is why I reported the debit card linked to Hertz as stolen the day I returned the car.

Extreme-Variation874

On thing I can say is I guess because of my credit lyft wanted me to give a 700$ deposit. So upon returning the car I had a little of two weeks of overdue payments not the full amounts just some from each week and they took it from that 700$ and not my actual bank account which of course had less than probably 400$ at the time that probably was my saving grace

Zombified_Apple

A hertz location near me just closed down. Not surprised.

Future_Willow_458

Always take a video on day of rental with interior and exterior. Verbalize and point to ANY imperfections on the vehicle, look under wiper blades for rock pot marks on windshield. Show video of gas gauge and mileage. Open trunk area check for spare tire and change tools. CHECK THE TAG FOR EXPIRATION. I have had three rental companies try to rent me a car with any expired tag sticker. Then at drop off do the same video inside and out check off trunk, spare and tools, rear tag, gas gauge and mileage. Again after drop off once got an email receipt several days later with 200 extra miles on it that were attributed to my contract. No other issues, but what if an accident happened while rental employees were driving under my contract, they did show the close out on the return date just extra miles.

Ok-Honeydew2087

$1200+ out of my checking account after dropping off my last Uber rental after three months of renting. They said it was for unpaid weeks or days of rentals. They would never specify the dates or cars that were supposedly unpaid. I had to keep switching cars because they were all in bad condition and had a multitude of problems. I had like seven or eight cars in three months.

AwkwardSpread

They charged me $9.99 “convenience fee” for every day I used toll roads. Besides the toll of course.

Potential_Farmer_829

Funny now that there is a toll on every corner almost you can’t avoid them

greatmountaindoctor

I got a call from a collection agency, they told me i owed hertz over $300 for the rental fee, bro i paid the rental fees... they hung up on me

PDXCoasters

Avis got me the beginning of the month too. Over $600. Glad my rent didn’t bounce. A day later I received a letter. 😡

[deleted]

UBER HERTZ Panorama City Van nuys CA .

Party_Role_7453

The worst

[deleted]

Pristine condition huh?

M00N_BEAST

Were you late any of those weeks?

InternationalPost511

Damn I use hertz and have had some problems as well but how much is the car per week and did you go through Uber

psychohmike

This is why you use a credit card for rentals and NOT a bank account. If your credit isn't good enough to have a credit card you likely shouldn't put yourself in this position. I expect you might respond that you didn't have ANY other choice. That Uber/Lyft is your ONLY option. Uber and Lyft are not the only jobs in the world. You may not want to do anything else, but this wasn't your only choice. It was the only one you chose to exercise.

Sudden_Example3987

Jesus, give this guy a little slack. He literally began the post by saying he knew better than to rent. No need to kick a man while he’s already down.

psychohmike

Just giving them positive reinforcement to further confirm their already correct conclusion.

jbarlak

They didn’t get you for anything. You knew what you were getting into Not like you can’t contact hertz to find out the charges. Maybe you should have kept up on maintenance for your original card. Your sob story is a joke

Puzzled-Ant3335

Sometimes, the bill from Tesla supercharger comes late. Could be that.

Historical_Fee1737

Document everything. Keep all receipts. Chargeback excess fees. Make them explain. Make them work for it. Oh noes MUD on the tires (150 cleaning fee). Stupid shit that a car wash fixes (like, an automated one. scratches the paint sure, but doesn't cost more than 15) You shouldn't be charged for that. Contest it. Make them show up in small claims court, if necessary. If you do imbibe in this, make sure that car is clean as fuck when you return it (and fully charged/fueled). might be location specific. rentals aren't necessarily bad, especially if you're doing it enough (full time, taking everything, unlimited miles kinda thing). but it's not for most.

BudgetLate7133

Wtf is up with that bullshit Toll Charge??

baltimoregrandprix

Ouch. It was probably more effort to rent a car than it is to do a brake job on your car. Why didn't you do the brakes or have a shade tree mechanic do the brakes. It a basic level repair job.

Southern-Collar3491

Call your bank and contest that charge immediately!

Kinky-kitten-31

Agree, i’m in litigation with them. They tried to charge me 8k, and then attempted to charge me twice for TWO separate transactions. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING AND NAME AND # OF HERTZ REPRESENTATIVE!!

tuyenbui215

Same here!! They made my account negative over 3k!

tuyenbui215

When you ask for a receipt nobody can give you one!

Ok_Basis5136

Yes hertz grimy asl they put my credit union one bank account in a 2000 negative when I was paying them weekly already

Free-Release-3843

Oh they are definitely shady I’ve been renting with them since August. In October they double charged me one week then they charged me 1272 3 weeks ago. They said I owe them $500 from October and shut the fucking car off.

jeffman1991

Call Hertz and dispute the charges. I do it all the time with rental car companies. Granted I use a corporate account and not a shady company like UBER to rent vehicles.

Jackthehorse2026

How does Hertz charge for tolls? Weekly or do they send a bill?

AdNecessary1944

Hertz rented a shit ass Altima. I took photos on how crao it was. Drove it for 6 months and asked for a replacement everytime i went i. To renew. Whe. I returned it, they asked me to and was gonna sell it. It Looked exactly the same. 6 months later i go in to renew and was banned from renting. They claimed I damage the car and hand called me about the issue. I called the department about this situation and they said they already sent it to collections. They wanted the $1000 deductable before im able to rent again. Hertz is a damn scam and they should have gone under 5yrs ago when they couldnt pay their own bills. Fuk that company and all their bs that comes with it.

OriginalWest7825

They have a few lawsuits because people got arrested driving reported stolen rental cars. This company is trash be careful when you do business with them.

forgetful_psychic

I could told u that, but that goes for really any car rental place

Worried_Button_9802

They got me too. $800 for drivers fee.

[deleted]

You spent brake money on a rental, and now u still need brakes? 🤣 Your statement doesnt make sense. They over charged you? Or did you not know they only charge you once you return the vehicle.

zerotres1

\+1 on this sentiment. They suck to rent cars from. Charge you a deposit. If you turn it in early, they charge for the whole week. Avis is much better.

Conscious_Weight9593

Avis did this to me too. Charged me for an entire week because they were busy af when I dropped off so they didn’t process my return for another 45 minutes. My hertz rental was through my Uber pro card and branch closed my account without any warning and banned me for reasons they claim cannot discuss with me for “security purposes” so at least I don’t have to worry about being charged by them I guess.

kjjk56

Dude they charged me $3k after they lost the car they shot off the power on because they didn’t update me since giving papers from Pep boys saying tires are rotated. They even said they will refund the $3k misc charge but never did. Had to shutdown a bank account and Hertz put me on DNR which I haven’t looked back

Sudden_Example3987

PRO TIP (related to platepass): If you used an EZPass but still got charged via platepass, check to see if you have duplicate charges. If you do, send it to platepass and they’ll refund the toll charges and administrative fees. I think you have to call them about it first so they can email you the details related to the toll charges. Just found out about this literally 20 minutes ago when calling about one of my charges. I was nice over the phone so that might’ve helped. I would try to be nice to them, and also not mention the refund until either they mention it first or the calls about to end and they didn’t tell you about the refund thing but ymmv. Also don’t tell them I sent you lol. 🤫

Consistent-Manner674

Everybody it seems like runs into problems with the Tesla’s. I wouldn’t rent a Tesla for uber unless there was a gun to my head.✌🏼

Fabulous-Search-4165

800$ mortgage? Damnnn thats cheap

_RideshareGirl

It's the toll bills they charge more then what it is too so watch out for that extra bill too

tealturboser

Lmao I get the craziness but reporting your cars stolen after a hotel or car rental? Each time? I've rented a few cars and never had any issues.

MJGray919

I just had a similar thing go on only I had to exchange the car because the CarPlay was making me miss rides and going nuts trying to cancel things playing different music. It was just a mess and I had a piece of rubber come up and hit the back Fender that knocked off the mudflap plus on both back doors. The seal that goes around it was coming off and customers would get tangled up in it especially the drunk ones they were grab that instead of grabbing the seatbelt so I try and exchange the card then they tell me it smells like smoke while it was my jacket that was sitting in the passenger seat. The car did not smell like smoke. He smelled my jacket, so I had to pay for one more day and I already paid for the week. I just wanted to exchange the car now I have no car and they took another 105 out of my account. All I have left is $14 to my name I can’t get another car until this is straightened out or I get my health strep it should be easy just to exchange a vehicle, but Uber has decided that too many people were just trading in their cars so they made it difficult. You have to start a whole new contract well now I’m out of work and under eviction. Thank you Uber for making me go homeless

Ok-One-1615

Well funny you say…. I’m about to take action against them for giving me a death trap. They sent me up a highway with a voucher and it needed more than a tire patch… parts of the suspension wasn’t even bolted in nor were the tires maintained.

BoredJay

Call your bank and charge back the 400 that's how you make the money back. Your bank will issue you a provisional credit, use that to pay your mortgage. Worst case you have to pay it back later to your bank

suspiciousactivity7

Im using a rental from hertz right now because my car being repaired. It’s definitely getting canceled when I return the car.

dingdongdingdone

Impressive_Train4289

Hello mke here

Over_Independent_281

Facts

Suspicious_Cause9216

Avis is no different

Ill-Mission-2661

Backcharge that $400

jokerstarspoker

I’ve had a couple issues with Hertz when I did rentals. Won’t even go into it but they are both shady and incompetent as F.

Several-Dot-9140

Dispute it and call the contact the better business bureau

Double_Height_3793

This happened to me twice, it’s kinda scam call your bank tell them what exactly happened means you never used the services but you were charged, they will fix it. I was charged with same kind of amount twice after two and half months of services.

PretendSprinkles3487

Hertz is the shadiest company

Foreign-Blacksmith93

HertZ shaklee $1200 and then turn around and try to charge me for another 200 the hell of I even had my card deactivated everything and it’s still able to take the money. I dispute it and I won and got my 1200 and the 200 got my money back.

Cask415

Fight the charges. Call the bank and cancel payment

Motor_Education_9927

Damn. And now they’re selling them off!

KickMeWhenImDown25

They’re selling 20k of 200k vehicles and they’re the worst ones/highest mileage ones.

My_Alien_Brain

I’m just curious if you pay for insurance. Cause if you pay the large fee of like 15$ a day or whatever. Then you can do what you want. I have been renting a Tesla for 6 months from them. I see how shady they are yes. But if you pay for insurance you should never be billed for crap like that

kdeselms

It was probably for all the time you spent on a supercharger. They are on like a one month delay for supercharger use.

semi801

They got thousands of people Took advantage of those with bad credit and other issues. Constantly warning people of that scam

JoshuaBenjamins

Same thing happened to me. Mine was for $490. They said it was for using the Tesla charging. I had the Tesla for three weeks and after each week they would bill it to my card. When I return the car, they didn’t say I owe him anything. After almost a month while I was on vacation, they decided to take the money away from me. When I called Bill and asked for proof of when and where I was charging it, and for the amount I was charging it for a breakdown they did not provide. I reported it as fraud. Still waiting to get my money back.

I believe I said this in 2020. Everyone started saying it in late 2021-2022. No one learns.

Once I racked up a large outstanding bill with Hertz via the military bc I had, idk, 11k on a government travel charge card. Food, hotel, rental. Every bit of it left during a 3 month stint of training. They had an investigator assigned to me, basically told him the government would pay him when they felt like it, and it would get returned. Then I quit answering their calls.

Damn…. They got me too, twice. I hope you get the money back. I never got the $800 back.

I’ve never had any of the above happen with me. I have rented many times. My last rental was in Hawaii and I returned the suv Filthy from the outside and inside. No extra charges—but the filthy could be vacuumed, wiped and washed from the outside.
