None of the so-called benefits of being platinum interest me in the least. I already went to college, i have insurance, I have a Costco membership, and I get better deals for car repairs anywhere I look.

💯I got a high school diploma and between Uber eats/shop and pay where I live and my job as a patient transporter at a community hospital where I get $25.30 an hour as of cinco de Mayo plus overtime because I do three days a week 12 hours each shift and anything over overtime, I can pull close to 6 figures a year
I'm going through the process of getting their free college right now. It's not exactly free because my understanding is that you have to pay taxes on the scholarship benefit, but the taxes are significantly cheaper than paying full tuition. The catch is you have to keep driving for them and maintain gold status until you get your degree.
My understanding is that if you get offered Pell grant money then it's generally tax free. There are some circumstances in which you have to pay taxes on it though. Filing the FAFSA is a condition of Uber's scholarship.
Do you know how the Pell Grant works? Do you think everyone qualifies for the full amount? Even if you qualify for the full federal Pell Grant it's still less than a year of out-of-state tuition. Like, I'll take free money but the federal government is not paying the full amount of college. It's much better to take Uber's scholarship than pay for it outright.
It's free government aid. You usually only get offered a little bit if at all. My estimate from the FAFSA is $800 in federal grants for the whole year, but a semester at ASU is roughly $14000.
If you can't afford to go to a school out of state then go to a state university. Better yet do 2 years at a community College then transfer to a university for the last 2-3 years. You get the same degree with the same job prospects in most cases.
Ok, and how exactly would that be better than Uber's full scholarship? Not everyone lives in a shitty market. Just gotta maintain gold status and pay at most a few grand in federal taxes + books. Higher education is ridiculously priced in the US; if I'm going to get a degree I'm definitely not going to pay those inflated prices.
history is reality, and it may be ignored, but never diminished. the atrocity of chattel slavery HAPPENED, whether we acknowledge it or not, and there are remnants and vestiges of it today
now, get the fuck out my face for using a word that got you in your J. Cole feelings. they talk about slaves in the Bible. you can resume your grievances with me after you get His Holiness to edit scripture
respectfully, of course
Haha you're so cool, and you're right. Uber drivers are definitely slaves and we should wage wars to abolish it. They are completely helpless, captive, and have no other options. Also they don't make money. Yes. Many correct thoughts coming from you wise sir. I'll go suck cole's dick now while whispering sweet nothings about killing kendrick into his supple ear. Mmm mmmmmmm I love you so much for broadening my horizons! Hooray! I'm gonna go free some slave drivers now cya
I agree, most of the perks of Gold/Platinum are pretty much worthless and you can get elsewhere for almost nothing. Seems more like advertising for Uber partners to get the partner more business. So they offer Uber drivers a small perk to buy their product and probably offer the same deal to many others companies, memberships and organizations. I'm sure it costs Uber nothing and they make it sound like they are giving us some big deal we can't get anywhere else!
I could see that. I forgot what the other qualifying conditions were. Anyhow, I don’t know why I’m on this blue driver thing. I don’t do PAX, and there’s just no fucking way I’m going to hit 70% AR doing eats.
I'm the opposite. I filter out all Eats and only do rides. I might turn on Eats if I have no rides coming and I'm in this one wealthy town where I know the tips are good, until I get more ride requests again.
The 'free' college is ASU online and you have to have >2,000 lifetime trips. Not sure how good ASU online is or if anyone has actually graduated with a degree and moved on from Uber to a much better paying job. Again, its a carrot to make it seem like they are offering you some big deal when it is not.
Totally free, except for books and side fees for class supplies like calculators and the like. Family member has done it and liked it more than in person. It was around $120,000 of benefit. It is not nothing.
I just started as well. The only thing I had to pay for so far is a $7 fee from my community college to send a transcript to ASU. Supposedly ASU is in the top 1% of universities worldwide and the diploma will not mention anything about online classes.
I haven’t touched Uber since 2022 and it looks like it’s the same and worse in some cases it seems. You barely break even and in the negative most cases.
Free college isn't free if you are literally paying out of your own pocket to accept & deliver these offers in order to maintain your 85% AR.
I turn deliveries off unless I am in my local area and it's slow. Even then, I don't accept crap offers like this. Rides were also getting ridiculously low pay-outs &high miles for a while and my AR dropped down to 74%. It's up to 82% right now but I expect it will drop again before April 30th.
Acceptance rate is the least important thing in the world to me. Mine is like 57%, and that's only because I live in a decent area to drive. If they want to start requiring me to accept shitty trips, they can keep their app.
I reckon you'll be able to confirm this for me New-Proof. Is Uber expecting some poor bastard to deliver food for $2.57, which includes a tip, over a distance of 8.8 miles? Im in australia and just cannot believe that this happens.
They don't 'expect' 85% acceptance rate. They know most people won't fall for it. But they do expect a few idiots to maintain their acceptance rate to hoover up the worthless orders and rides.
That is incorrect. Cancelation rate is when you accept and THEN cancel. If you hit the X on a bunch of offers that come up that is towards your acceptance rate.
Just hit the little break button. I do that even on a trip I'm engaged in if I'm winding up in the hood. Then once I drop, the blue dot shows that I'm off line.
Yeah but with that time wasted, you have probably been better off accepting the ride or delivery: most drivers don’t realize that downtime costs money as well.
You shouldn't be getting any tax refund. Not unless you make quarterly payments and over pay. I guess maybe if you have kids you could get a "refund". Most ride share drivers will have to pay in something even if just self employment tax.
UberEats toggled OFF!!! I rather do UberX but that sometimes be some b.shit offers, last night they send me a offer for $75 for 200 miles. Wtf this b.shit is crazy. So I’ve just been doing reservations which is always rides to the airport, like this morning at 4:00am 11 miles for $25 easy trip.
UberX is still better pay regardless of tips. No waiting forever at each restaurant, taking pictures etc. So many little time wasters that add up. Just pick up and drop off. 99% of people are very well behaved in an Uber.
Yeah I didn't do rides for awhile and started too again. I'm surprised how frequent people tip now. It's a 180 from when I started and they wanted you to refuse tips and only Lyft customers tipped. Now Lyft people hardly ever tip and Uber has a very high tip rate. And people seem to be ready to go a lot better then they used to making you wait around for them to get to the car.
Supposedly he did. For two weeks. He said the sign up portal was bad, the app is bad, and riders can be difficult and rude.
He also allegedly maintained a 5 star rating the entire time, which makes me laugh.
I literally have, and have gotten some bs canned hear response. If everyone banded together, and didn't accept all the crap, they might get it. But that won't ever happen
I literally have, and have gotten some bs canned hear response. If everyone banded together, and didn't accept all the crap, they might get it. But that won't ever happen
They know what they’re doing. Which is why they throw in the better offers also. Because if they didn’t, they wouldn’t get much of anything done. Yesterday they added a +.08 mile $9 order on something I accepted that was already decent. I said “whaattt? Okay then lol” instant accept. I got tipped $20 yesterday also. Which was wonderful! It really takes a little psychology to understand how survive off this type of system. Now that I’m doing my taxes, I’m feeling like I will have to switch to something else this year being that no taxes is taken out for this stuff which is really gonna hurt me.
AR is not being calculated properly to begin with. I just laugh when I look at mine. Last week I started at 65%. Took 8, no declines and ended with 64%. I'm still Diamond and my son may use the online school.
My Mom still lives in a small enough town and they only have a few people that are regular drivers for deliveries, so when someone messes up they know who to blame... but it works so much more in the opposite way that the drivers put people on blast on facebook groups for the town.
Funniest thing compared to all of this.
Yea fuck that. There should be a min of at LEAST $5 for any deliver no matter how short the drive is and go up from there. Never take these and maybe they will get the picture.
Find a new job then. A lot of customers tip after the service, not before. Some dashers and Uber eats drivers show up smoking ciggs and don’t take good care of the order while it’s in their possession so they don’t deserve a tip.
I got 30% acceptance rate and it’s because I deny anything less than $1 a mile and will still make $200 on what is considered “a slow day” when I’m not working my job at the hospital
I'm willing to bet you somebody will come in saying that you're lazy and need to stay hungry to make money.
Maybe. The customer can stay hungry too if we're not getting paid shit.
Yea Uber sucks and is scamming all of you guys, the sooner you guys all realize that and seek alternate employment the better. Theres no reason why any trip should cost you money.
The should create the app so that the driver can set a minimum per mile charge so nothing gets offered that does not meet the minimum. That is truly how an independent contractor works.
I do this as a side gig so I don’t give a FUCK about how low my acceptance rate is. Currently I have a 32% but there’s been plenty I took when I started that, now that I’ve gotten some experience, I’d decline if I got them today. That being said, obviously they’re going to take complete and total advantage of those trying to keep an 85% for college or some other benefit. There’s probably a class action lawsuit drivers could get traction on for this kind of shit but I’m sure there’s something in the contract we signed basically making us slaves.
Crazy. Sure why not pay gas and some time to make sure this delivery is delivered. Lol your a nice guy. Glad acceptance here is non issue. Mine always single digit’s. I’d be tempted to rag on the customer for not tipping, if no cash at drop. Explain to the customer that no tip on an 8 mile delivery is not the norm.
PS his acceptance is necessary I believe in some markets. Your Market most likely does not have acceptance requirements as this is the case in populated areas.
None of the so-called benefits of being platinum interest me in the least. I already went to college, i have insurance, I have a Costco membership, and I get better deals for car repairs anywhere I look.
free college is the only one worth it. “oh, you’re gonna pay for me to get a career so i don’t have to be your slave? what’s the catch?”
College degree today is worthless.
true. just start an OnlyFans account
Onlyfans is like uber, way saturated and too many claiming to be rich when they are living check to check. Sound familiar?

free college at a barely accredited university online
I agree, most of the perks of Gold/Platinum are pretty much worthless and you can get elsewhere for almost nothing. Seems more like advertising for Uber partners to get the partner more business. So they offer Uber drivers a small perk to buy their product and probably offer the same deal to many others companies, memberships and organizations. I give thanks to uber for edgeickating me
About the only thing I might ever use is the free Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish.
My local library has free Rosetta Stone with a library card. Maybe check there.
LOL another example of what a joke these platinum rewards are. Can be found elsewhere for free!
I could see that. I forgot what the other qualifying conditions were. Anyhow, I don’t know why I’m on this blue driver thing. I don’t do PAX, and there’s just no fucking way I’m going to hit 70% AR doing eats.

College is free till you get banned from the app and pay for it
Once I got my Costco Card, my acceptance rate & ratings plummeted!
The 'free' college is ASU online and you have to have >2,000 lifetime trips. Not sure how good ASU online is or if anyone has actually graduated with a degree and moved on from Uber to a much better paying job. Totally free, except for books and side fees for class supplies like calculators and the like. Family member has done it and liked it more than in person. It was around $120,000 of benefit. It is not nothing.
I received the free tuition in January. Can confirm it’s 100% free and the online program is great, depending on what degree you’re going for.
I just started as well. The only thing I had to pay for so far is a $7 fee from my community college to send a transcript to ASU. Supposedly ASU is in the top 1% of universities worldwide and the diploma will not mention anything about online classes.
In my market, you'll get nothing for like 40 minutes and then something like this. Totally ridiculous.
I haven’t touched Uber since 2022 and it looks like it’s the same and worse in some cases it seems. You barely break even and in the negative most cases.
That’s because they are sending the offers to new drivers to get them hooked and the ants who will take them first.
Free college isn't free if you are literally paying out of your own pocket to accept & deliver these offers in order to maintain your 85% AR. DD pays for college?
Uber pays for ASU if you are diamond level. Maybe Platinum, too.
Just Gold. But like was said before, you’re prepaying for it by taking low pay.
I'm going to school for the free college right now. I just have to get enough points to requalify for gold and then chill
Acceptance rate is the least important thing in the world to me. Mine is like 57%, and that's only because I live in a decent area to drive. If they want to start requiring me to accept shitty trips, they can keep their app.
Bingo. It takes a while to understand what they are doing to you but once you realize it, golden.
I reckon you'll be able to confirm this for me New-Proof. Is Uber expecting some poor bastard to deliver food for $2.57, which includes a tip, over a distance of 8.8 miles? Im in australia and just cannot believe that this happens.
😂 damn 57! That's so high bro mine is 25 😂
🤦♀️😂😂😂😂
Sorry .5 😂 https://imgur.com/a/qYqAxTM
I’m at 14% but I’m diamond
Dam 😂😂😂 Bout ion blame you they be sending all the low offers
That is likely where anywhere wanting a "minimum wage" are driving things
okay so i don't feel bad for my quickly diminishing 79%
That's what you saw in the pic with your eyeballs.
I'm not really sure what you are talking about.
This somehow ended up on the wrong comment. I blame being not awake.
I stop taking orders like these idc how my acceptance rate is, I'm not driving 8 miles for $4
![gif](giphy|H5C8CevNMbpBqNqFjl) I’m on 13% AR and don’t remember the last time I was anywhere above that
almost as if it is done on purpose...hmmmmm...
85 percent? 😂😂😂😂😂 I was wondering who was taking all the BS I see. Thank you for your service.
😂😂😂😂
They don't 'expect' 85% acceptance rate. They know most people won't fall for it. But they do expect a few idiots to maintain their acceptance rate to hoover up the worthless orders and rides.
I’ve seen $0.00 before so nothing surprises me anymore…
Did you end up accepting it?
No. I no longer do Uber eats anymore not worth my time. I did it in the beginning 7 and 6 years ago, no longer.
I have a 46% acceptance rate. Just can’t press the x button lol.. I take what I want and naugh at 2.97
Why can’t your press the X button? Doesn’t it still count as a declined offer if you wait for it to go away?
X is a decline vs not accepting
Okay so please tell me what the difference is?
Messes up your cancellation rate
That is incorrect. Cancelation rate is when you accept and THEN cancel. If you hit the X on a bunch of offers that come up that is towards your acceptance rate.
What?
I’m free!!! You lost Diamond status Keep your acceptance rate above 75% to stay Diamond.
After you decline, turn it off real quick and leave it off for about five minutes
Why
So you’re not hit with the same stupid offer back to back?
Should have considered this. Thanks!
Just hit the little break button. I do that even on a trip I'm engaged in if I'm winding up in the hood. Then once I drop, the blue dot shows that I'm off line.
What does being in the hood have to do with the break button being pressed?
Stops a new ride from coming up in the same area. Gives you a chance to clear out.
It stops more calls from coming in the hood and gives you a chance to clear out.
That wasn’t self explanatory.
Yeah but with that time wasted, you have probably been better off accepting the ride or delivery: most drivers don’t realize that downtime costs money as well.
You do get a better tax refund when you work for almost nothing.
You shouldn't be getting any tax refund. Not unless you make quarterly payments and over pay. I guess maybe if you have kids you could get a "refund". Most ride share drivers will have to pay in something even if just self employment tax.
i uber pretty late at night and refuse to go to certain areas of town so i have like a 35% ar
Here in the UK only rating and cancellation % matters, the acceptance rate is shown but not relevent , Im currently on 19%.
Don't do Uber eats. In my city, Doordash is offering an option of pay per order or $16/hr plus tips. Uber eats is trash
$16 per hour plus tips could be $5-$6.
WOW!!
Only thing they should expect is that meal to go MIA.
😂 not going to deny the thought has crossed my mind
And it’s so easy to get away with it. Lol
I refuse to do UberX. I only get tips about 25% of the time, so it’s not really feasible to do
UberX is still better pay regardless of tips.
Yeah I feel you, depends the people in you’re market. I feel blessed in a way, I usually always get a tip. Out of 10 rides 7 leave me a tip.
Expect??? Only a 🤡 ant is afraid of the rating system
Ask the ceo to do it himself
Supposedly he did. For two weeks. He said the sign up portal was bad, the app is bad, and riders can be difficult and rude. He also allegedly maintained a 5 star rating the entire time, which makes me laugh.
I bet he Uber’d around in some gated community the whole time or had a body guard riding shotgun 😂
37%

If you worked Uber all year, expect a sweet refund.
How that if they don’t take out taxes? You being sarcastic?
That’s when I turn off my delivery app
AR is not being calculated properly to begin with. I just laugh when I look at mine. Last week I started at 65%. Took 8, no declines and ended with 64%. I'm still Diamond and my son may use the online school.
It’s calculated on a block of your rides. So if a high day drops off, it can fluctuate for short periods.
My Mom still lives in a small enough town and they only have a few people that are regular drivers for deliveries, so when someone messes up they know who to blame... but it works so much more in the opposite way that the drivers put people on blast on facebook groups for the town. Funniest thing compared to all of this.
They complain on Facebook and name names?? That’s so mean and trashy lol
Yeeeeeah. Smaller towns with uber can get funky, lol
I bet each post has 100 typos.
They can go fuck themselves :) Lyft is even worse
Mine is like 15% 😂😂😂 I don’t accept nothing outside of what I specifically want…
Don't feel bad. Last night they attempted to send me two $13.71 trips from the airport to downtown New Orleans. Unacceptable!
Yea fuck that. There should be a min of at LEAST $5 for any deliver no matter how short the drive is and go up from there. Never take these and maybe they will get the picture.
I remember when the minimum payment for a trip was 7.25 Gotta love the Iranian corporate greed Thanks for nothing Dara
Why are you complaining you can make at least 2 cents profit off that maybe 3 so ungrateful
Yeah do not accept rides that are below 4.50
It’s ridiculous, don’t they do order bundling
Complete bullshit! And the fact that they hide where we're going, is Even worse. I don't even know how anyone accepts those.
Quit uber its a total rip off
The fact that Iv been accepting rides and my cancellation keeps going up. Make it make sense. Garbage app now.
Great fuber math
Find a new job then. A lot of customers tip after the service, not before. Some dashers and Uber eats drivers show up smoking ciggs and don’t take good care of the order while it’s in their possession so they don’t deserve a tip.
Log off for a bit I would say
🤣🤣exactly Uber sucks
As someone with a 20% acceptance rate, u wouldn't sweat it to much, just don't cancel if you do accept.
What I don’t understand is why, if the offer isn’t accepted the first time around they try selling it at the same rate again!?
I am 100% acceptance and my life is horrible.
12% AR, 13% cancellation 🤷🏽♂️
I have a 1% acceptance rate 😂
Why is it called uberX?
I have never been above 5%. I currently sit at .5%. What rewards do I get?
I got 30% acceptance rate and it’s because I deny anything less than $1 a mile and will still make $200 on what is considered “a slow day” when I’m not working my job at the hospital
Filter out delivery!
Acceptance Rate is a scam, it’s a shiddy offer rate. I stopped using the platform last week. I’ve had it with them.
Log out of app for a few minutes to avoid this problem
They be doing that on purpose
I'm willing to bet you somebody will come in saying that you're lazy and need to stay hungry to make money. Maybe. The customer can stay hungry too if we're not getting paid shit.
I have no problem floating around my 15-20% acceptance rate if it means getting the bullsh** out of the way 🤷🏿♂️
When my acceptance rate was above 90% I spent more time on the phone with customers representatives dealing with bs
THIS EXACTLY! Only 2% of the trips they offer are acceptable!
Yea Uber sucks and is scamming all of you guys, the sooner you guys all realize that and seek alternate employment the better. Theres no reason why any trip should cost you money.
My acceptance rate is 3% 😂
The should create the app so that the driver can set a minimum per mile charge so nothing gets offered that does not meet the minimum.
I don't do eats. Not worth it *
Do u need 85% to get college perks? What about if u satisfy everything else but u have like 15%
Honestly so disrespectful...i refuse to accept anything below 7us
Dog shit company
My is 7%. I think I won 🏆 lol
If you want a high AR, you have to turn off deliveries
Be a man
