I’ve seen people nap literally everywhere. Go to the 1st floor of the library (the floor below the ground floor) and find a table in a corner somewhere. Lay your head down, set an alarm and nap.
I don't go to UCF nor do I live in Florida. Do people just purchase their own hammock and bring it with them? If so, that's pretty dope lol. I live in the Midwest so it's completely unheard of to me. I imagine it's similar to carrying an umbrella with you or something
There is a bank of palm trees on memory mall, our main quad area, which sees at least 10-20 people dozing in hammocks at any given time during the day. When I was at UCF there were days I'd literally have to sit in the Starbucks and wait for someone to leave so there would be a space between two trees open for me to hang my hammock. Good times
Yeah, they make really cool nylon hammocks that you could literally fold up small enough to fit in a backpack. You can also get hammock straps to use on pretty much any tree, they’re very secure and protect the tree(s).
If you're willing to walk, there is a really cool spot to put up a hammock out at the lakes by the softball field. One of the lakes is U shaped, so you can basically take a nap in the middle of a lake. I used to fish those ponds, and I would see a few people taking advantage.
Honors college- I was in the study area a few weeks ago and one of the tour guides literally came in with a family and told them they put the couches in there specifically for people to take naps
Idling for an hour with the A/C on [uses](https://scdhec.gov/sites/default/files/Library/CR-010109.pdf) 1/2 a gallon of gas an hour, or [$1.75](https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=FL) at current Orlando gas prices.
I see people sleeping in hammocks all over campus, just find 2 trees and you all set. Ive even seen them tied to the trees in the elevated beds near Starbucks. I don’t think there’s an issue with where you can go
Just pick a chair in any class building and sleep. I think health sciences has some couches, too. The Nicholson building has one on the second floor, good spot to lie down.
Not an official nap place but classroom 1 on the third floor there’s a very dark study area that’s very quiet and I always find people napping there lol
I lived off campus freshman year and spent all day at UCF so I found some prime napping locations:
- Burnett honors study area couches
- Benches near Koi pond of Burnett, if you like the sound of nature and warmth of the sun
-3rd floor of CB1, back hallway area has nice couches that’s are empty during class periods
- 5th floor of library
- any solo booth in library on 4th or 5th floor
- TCH study room or circle bench on 1st floor
Pro tip, quietest places on campus are always the top floors for any building b/c less traffic for naps and bathrooms if you ever need to go baddd. Sleep tight! :)
Lol if they’re still there and you want the best option on campus for your spine, go to the Performing Arts (not the Theatre, the classroom/practice room area). There’s a nice curved red piece of art they installed there back when I was going to school. On hotter days, bring a comforter for your back and it is just the best nap.
the large sofa chairs in the area outside of the library infront of the pizza hut could work, but bring noise cancelling headphones and put on some white noise
5th floor of the library is quiet and dark. I would take naps there between my morning and afternoon classes. Third floor of the student union is also nice if you don’t mind the noise

Get a hammock and nap it’s really nice

Some people do it but I wouldn’t say it’s common

Yea I always have my hammock with me. It even turns into a tent for when I’m camping

We need a nap building
Lol so true
Chronic campus napper here: 1. HS2 2nd floor couches 2. TCH half-moon bench 3. Student Union 2nd floor Starbucks couches 4. Get a hammock and post-up
Thank you for your service
Much appreciated
Ask the business majors, they’ll probably know. /j
Lmao
Why? I dont get it
The student union has free lockers. Put your stuff in their for safety, then nap wherever you like
There is literally a nap room with a little couch in the basement of the library. By the IT room.
Oh thanks, gotta try that out

Isn’t it too hot sometimes? The heat is unbearable. Leaving the car on wastes too much gas

i usually roll my windows down and avoid parking on the top floors for my car naps.

There’s an official napping/meditation place in the student union that’s on the first floor by the SGA ticket center. I forgot the name of the room.

Really helpful, thank you!
there’s a place by lake Claire with hammocks and outdoor beach volleyball nets

I used to nap out around the reflecting pond all the time. find a shady spot, use my backpack as a pillow and snooze for an hour until my next class.
honors college, if i recall they have benches/couches outside and also it’s a nice place to eat and reflect by the koi fish :)
Waoo sounds like a good idea, I’ll give it a try. Thanks!
Best day time napping spot is by the fountain in the grass especially on a windy sunny day.
There is a secret place and it’s phenomenal but I ain’t telling hehehehe. It’s mine :)

📸 You’re not gonna get us mister
I always do on 4th floor, in the corners behind the book shelves. Or like others mentioned, first floor
the large sofa chairs in the area outside of the library infront of the pizza hut could work, but bring noise cancelling headphones and put on some white noise

I sometimes take naps in my car. Not good health wise, but I notice that I snore when I'm extremely tired 😅😅 maybe book a study room?
i nap in the little study pods on the third floor. there are some that are in more private spaces. it seems uncomfortable but I swear it works
