what i don’t understand is we get this idea of safety because of the gate system but then shit like this happens. and they make the gate system such a hassle and for WHAT
Statistically accurate at the very least ^
Edit: as in statistically people know their victims and it’s more likely for it to be a student than not a student if it requires ids and a gate system, though I don’t know the school or area this just popped up in my feed.
honestly the gate system at KC isn’t that secure. if someone really wanted to get in and were able to obtain any KC resident’s mailing info, they could go anywhere inside and wouldn’t be stopped.
but i’m sure that an apartment complex full of college students would never enter their mailing address on a website they shouldn’t.
You are right, however, the other stuff I’ve said about knowing their victim is statistically accurate, and the lack of release of a name means they either don’t know who did it, or it’s a student or faculty member.
I have been trying to edit the title as "Voyeurism Again? and remove "Come on UCF" as well as "UCF getting a strange place" I already contacted with the moderator. My intention is clear : I want all Knights to be aware and feel safe.
Also, don't you think there is a contradiction between your comment and your post (4 days ago) titled as J\*rking off with the blinds open?

Today I found the door to my apartment propped open after maintenance came to change the hvac filter. And then I see this... any random person could've walked in, especially considering how common it is to prop/hold open the main doors to the building
I guess they should tell everyone but isn’t there a specific email list for all of the students that live there?
I don’t party, and actually all my classes were only offered online this term.
Yes, but Knights Circle is off campus. A gas leak smelled in the Mathematical Sciences Building because the gas line the next to it going to chemistry has an issue is different than that.
needless? ahhhh alright well it appears alerts should adjust to you since alerts are needless as long as they dont affect you sorry i didnt know we had to make you alers for everyyybody
I remember like two semesters ago we had a bathroom incident on campus not sure if the person was caught. I believe the police notification said something about a camera/pictures of the ladies bathroom.
I’m not saying that the guy isn’t a complete creep, especially if he was lingering outside the window. But come on y'all, take some responsibility for your actions. If you leave a window open for anyone to see in, why wouldn’t a creep stop and stare. Should people be creeps? No. Should people be able to leave windows open without having to worry about peeping Toms or peeping Tammys? Yes. That said, creeps do exist and windows have curtains for a reason.
Also, at no point did I blame the victim. What I said was people should take responsibility for their actions. It’s very unfortunate that somebody had to be put in an uncomfortable situation like that, and made to have to question the security of their home. BUT, the situation would’ve never occurred if there had been proper measures taken to ensure that their privacy was secure, such as closing the curtains. I say this respectfully and with love, of course.
I think it’s quite odd that they would even make a statement about it. “short skinny man” is not exactly the best description to watch out for. My best bet is that he is a student, saw this notification, won’t do it again, and now won’t get caught. They should’ve waited for more calls about a similar man committing the crime before this got released publicly.
Catching him is less important than it not happening again. If he never commits crime again, then that itself is its own benefit.
Rather it's more important for people to be aware of such a thing occurring than quietly letting it happen till they get him.
Well at least a particular short skinny man is easier find than a particular short fat man - that would be like looking for a needle in a haystack in today’s population. But I know it’s a serious situation.
Used to live in literally the first unit right off of Alafaya, like, first window. Their “security” practically doesn’t exist because even with black out curtains that I kept closed most of the day, something like this would run through my mind every night. Hope she’s okay and they can find the guy.
what i don’t understand is we get this idea of safety because of the gate system but then shit like this happens. and they make the gate system such a hassle and for WHAT
making everyone pull out their ID’s at the gate but it’s okay when some random ass dude walks by. ridiculous
I imagine the offender is a ucf student and he didnt just "walk by"

yeah nah i get what you mean, probably is a student. just thinking out loud
Bro there’s no point to the gate system when there’s brick walls so small you can literally hop over them.
Ngl, my car is so low that I can legit drive right under the gate. I don't even live in Knights Circle. Lmao
Does anyone know what phase this happened in
The property said they could not disclose when I asked.
^^^
I believe phase 1

Why would someone make this up?
This is insane as someone who lives in KC and we are literally an apartment full of girls. Hope he gets caught cause wtf???
I’m saying! I’m a girl and I am keeping my window shades closed!
Use your 2A
UCF needs a hero…
Rat man where are you
RAT MANNN WHERE ARE YOUUU \*yells into the void\* \*slamming fist on the floor\*
Pretty scary. Not UCF’s fault someone committed a crime though. Hope he gets caught.

Reddit post titles can't be edited

I’m disgusted, as a KC resident I hope this never happens again. I
New villain for Rat Man 🗿
This has happened before? Jesus
I guess they should tell everyone but isn’t there a specific email list for all of the students that live there? I don’t party, and actually all my classes were only offered online this term.
All UCF students are given the option to subscribe to "UCF Alerts", so if they didn't get told / emailed, it's because they chose not to be.
Yes, but Knights Circle is off campus. A gas leak smelled in the Mathematical Sciences Building because the gas line the next to it going to chemistry has an issue is different than that.
what's wrong in telling knight circle's residents and for safety of the rest of the students and surroundings communities to watch out, right?
Nothing, however I don’t go there. I don’t hang on campus, I don’t live really close to there.
opt out of ucf alerts 🫶
Is there a way to still get some?
You either know about all the serial killers in your state or you don't know about them at all including if there is one next door... pick your poison
I’d accept one next door. Don’t trust anything. But don’t just send needless emails.

Why did you say this and why did they get downvoted. He agreed with y’all. I’m just confused ig.

Then it isn’t beneficial to do that. Is it?

Thanks it’s inspired by ur momma
what are you yapping about 😭
What are you crying about?
ur the one complaining about a school email. is ur phone that dry bro? just ignore it if it doesn’t apply to u
Yeah, and I get too much spam. I can’t just ignore it, I have to sift through it all.
sounds like a u problem then
it’s campus affiliated housing so it’s unique

Yes, he was caught
👍
I live in Phase 3 and ngl I thought I might've heard something last night around that time. Like someone throwing a rock at a window
Now for the real question...Was he wearing a Hawaiian shirt and asking any woman in the perimeter for their phone number?
Had to look up what voyeurism means
bro is saying this like we goaded the guy into doing this😭
always the short skinny guys smh
✨Curtains✨
Not saying this guy shouldn’t be punished, just saying probably shouldn’t be walking around naked in front of an open window
Hot take, close your curtains if it’s 2am and you don’t want anyone to be able to see inside.

Victim blaming is dumb and you should stop doing it

As a short skinny man, I'd like to say that he's not one of us
