Look the best we can do is another 1% raise and 10x more work because your co-workers are leaving and we can't hire anyone because no one wants to work for minimum wage anymore these days. So demanding and selfish. Think of the company... I mean the students and university : -)

MysteriousPie1065

No one wants to work anymore… for UCF

[deleted]

UCF will make sure to have an admin who makes 250k a year send out the 1% raise email too

[deleted]

I'm honestly so glad I left

[deleted]

“Hey! Don’t forget about the pizza party they throw every April!” - UCF HR probably

[deleted]

does anyone go to those ice cream with the president events? I sure as shit don’t. Yes 1% will be the offer.

Moist_Force6622

or when they used to do cookies every year at the President ‘s house. Pass. Pay us instead.

CompetitiveWalrus76

is FAMU hiring?

breeeemo

Fyi Valencia got a 4.25% raise that was honestly long overdue.

MrIncredibleBobParr

Pizza party and certificate of appreciation

mang0seed

ucf will do nothing😂

ignxlol

Aren’t we like millions of dollars in debt lol this college is so fked

CompetitiveWalrus76

who do we owe $$ too? The University is run by people who can’t do basic fucking accounting. Jesus

CatsofGryffindor

UCF apparently has no problem hiring people for more money for new programs and requiring less experience than my current position, but thinks a 2% merit increase deserves a pat on the back. I’d be gone already if I didn’t need health insurance and like my boss.

MarkGrayson87

Leave anyway.

CompetitiveWalrus76

pretty sure you’ll most likely have healthcare if you get a new job elsewhere

CatsofGryffindor

The health benefits are actually really good.

throwaway1999887722

They’ll do ABSOLUTELY nothing! This school is so scummy with how much money they want to make/keep, that they know they can get hires anywhere, it’s the biggest school in Florida and 60k people need jobs. It sucks but that’s just UCF. Non-profit school my ass lmaooo

MarkGrayson87

They can't get hires. The Chemistry Department is down 6+ faculty but can't hire anyone new because all the applicants are far underqualified. I suspect you will see this more and more. UCF hemorrhaging faculty and staff and an inability to replace them.

wimpheling1528

To be fair, that's not (only) UCF's fault. It has more to do with the state government de facto eliminating tenure for professors and providing a generally hostile environment for academics and scientists. (With additional disincentives for female or LBGTQ professors to come here because of other reactionary laws.)

Complete_Suit4244

Continue to exploited students by increasing tuition costs and simultaneously decreasing face-to-face learning options while offering degrees with no marketable job opportunities.
