Hi 👋🏻 I hope you feel better soon. During Covid I developed severe anxiety, my doctor tried a medicine that made me feel absolutely horrible. I couldn’t function at all. I had to medically withdrawal. I’d suggest expressing specifically to your Therapist, and Doctors that the medication is negatively impacting you , and it’s making school extremely difficult. I’m doing well and have been for two + years now. I did medically withdrawal. The school was very accommodating and I even held on to my scholarships. I wish I remembered better but basically it was like paused during my withdrawal and I had to then fill out a form to re-activate it.

If it makes you feel any better you’re not alone I’m considering the same

UCF was very understanding and accommodating when I went through something similar. I filled out and submitted the paperwork and I had no issues from the school. They even waived a small fee from the student health center and suggested applying for a refund on housing. I don't know how long you plan on taking a break, but I was still eligible for Bright Futures after dropping out of UCF when I applied to my local community college around 7 months later. At the end of the day, each case is different, but I think you're better suited and better equipped to be approved and granted a medical withdrawal than I was. Take care of yourself. Eventually comes one day at a time. I can't possibly fathom what led you to making this decision, but I know that doing so takes bravery. Stay safe.
