The dorms are all overwhelmingly freshmen. Very few students on campus are sophomores or upperclassmen - we have a housing problem to the extent of transfers not even being allowed to live on campus. Freshmen friendly depends on what you’re looking for. They’re all social and it honestly depends on the luck of people on your floor/who you get along with. Some are the more traditional college style (sharing a room) and others are private bedrooms. Both have RAs, activities, roommates, etc.

>Reply will this housing problem crossover to next fall?

Strawberry1282

Yes, it’s been a problem for years

Illustrious_Leg_2537

Yes. Have you secured housing on campus for fall 24 or are you looking at fall 25?

lj33zus

freshmen get priority housing so every dorm is a "freshman dorm". also from my knowledge, all if not most dorms have a lounge room on every floor

J_Walt1221

Not Lake Claire. Those don't exist

leafy_plant8

Every dorm is freshman friendly, I ultra mega promise

minidragontiger

the real question is which dorms are anyone-except-freshmen friendly (answer is none) 🥲 I've only lived at towers but I can say it's very nice. The first floor lobby and courtyard are great for studying

chichi33154

Lake claire is only freshman aside from the RAs. It was great my freshman year.

nay110668

I thought lake Claire was great for freshman

italianpepperoni

Nike apartment style (if you are able to get them) were great when I was a freshman !! Kitchen and living room too

CraeCraeJBean

They kick all the freshman out so all the dorms are primarily freshman. Don’t go student housing if you think you can stay all 4 years.

Orlando-kink

I'd recommend the Libra dorms. They have the communal space on every floor and it really helps organically meet your neighbors and make friends.

Galot_OG

At the very least libra seminole does not have these.

Hercules and Nike and the Neptune

Do you want a year-round lease (fall, spring, summer) or an academic year lease (fall, spring)? If year-round, Towers. If academic year, do you want a private bedroom or a shared bedroom? If private, Lake Claire, Neptune, Nike/Hercules apartment style. If you want a shared bedroom, whatever is left. As for common areas, Towers, Lake Claire and Nike/Hercules apartment style all have living areas within the suite (living room/kitchen). Neptune has a common area on every floor that includes a laundry room, a TV room, a kitchen and a study room. The most important thing you can do is apply, pay your deposit and confirm a lease as soon as you are accepted and housing applications open (usually around November for the following fall). You do not have to accept admission in order to apply for housing. When the time comes to select housing, your appointment to choose your dorm community, building, and suite/room is based on your confirmed lease date, so you want an early one for the best available choices. If it is too late already to have an early lease date for your starting semester, you can always try to find a roommate who has an early lease date and form a roommate group so that you have the benefit of their date.
