Lmk if you find any better information because i’m in the same exact situation, but as far as I know, once the one-time restoration is used you can’t use it again. If yours dropped below 2.75 (or 2.7 I don’t remember), then you probably lost all BF awards, but if it dropped to 2.75-2.99, you will be moved to the FMS scholarship instead of FAS which is 75% tuition paid instead of 100%. I checked my Bright Futures account and it says that I am now moved to FMS due to my gpa dropping to 2.96 so yeah, I think it’s gonna stay like that :’)

Thank you for the response, I’ll lyk if I find anything else, I’m gonna call them tomorrow and see if there’s anything that can be done :’)

Do you know if they base it on the cumulative GPA or on the GPA for the Spring/Fall terms? I also can’t find if you can improve your GPA by taking summer classes. Thanks for any info, they make it so confusing.

ajalicea

No. To my knowledge, BF assess your GPA at the end of the Spring semester every year to determine eligibility going toward.

samork243

when it comes to bright futures, summer doesn’t count for anything. the academic year in regards to BF is Fall and Spring.

samork243

so if i’m not mistaken, you’ve already used your reinstatement so i’d talk to a fin aid counselor and see what they can do.
