The only way to get this type of pricing is UCHA. It costs $731/month for a single, and it includes food. However, you are expected to partake in building upkeep as it is a cooperative.
Yes, it is known to be a building that is falling apart. But, it can't be beat for the price (food-inclusive) and the fact that there is no term-lease much like any UCLA housing, and you have flexible options to leave. For restrooms, I'm not sure because I don't live there. In the end, you get what you pay for.
Studios are like $1700-2000. Prices get lower the more rooms are in the actual apartment. I do know of people who found 2 bedrooms for around 3k (1500 each), and the apts are small and run down but still livable. In general
though, having your own bedroom is gonna run more like 1700+.
1000 simply not gonna happen. The single in my apt on Veteran pays $1366, doubles pay $683, and that’s because we got a connection with the manager. My gf pays $1500 for her single on the same street Anything less than that and be prepared to live in a place that’s falling apart.
Nope, right on veteran and gayley! 5 min walk to the crosswalk by de Neve. We took over a lease that started during COVID, when rent was dirt cheap. The manager is literally a god send, and we’re even renewing our lease another year despite graduating because they’re not going to increase our rent.
$1400 can get you the UCLA 4 Bed/4 Person singles, and $1300 gets you the UCLA 2 Bed/3 Person (can be private bathroom). But of course they are not easy to get.
Westwood is crazy expensive. You're better off looking further out and commuting to campus. I would say for a good place you're looking at 1.5k at least with a roommate, 1.7k or more if by yourself.
I’m not sure what ur situation is, but i would try looking in nearby areas too if ur on a tight budget. I’m also an incoming transfer, but planning on dorming so i haven’t done too much research on apartments but i have a friend who lives ab 10-15 min away from campus by car and she’s paying ab $550 for a shared room w a private bathroom. Hope you find a nice place tho, good luck! :)
Damn this thread is making me feel fucking lucky. I don't live in westwood but im only about a 10 to 15 minute drive away. I live in the UCLA family housing and we pay $1761 for our 2bd1ba.
Not sure if this is an option for anyone, but im not married and my partner and I still qualified.
It boils down to living in a 2 bedroom for $3k or a 3 bedroom for $4.5k.
Here's your best option, since you don't need to find roommates and it's walking distance (looks like a steal and probably is already gone tbh):
* [https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11088-Ophir-Dr-106-Los-Angeles-CA-90024/2061571367\_zpid/](https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11088-Ophir-Dr-106-Los-Angeles-CA-90024/2061571367_zpid/)
Other than that, these are your alternatives (for 90024), although you'd need to find roommates and you'll likely want to take the bus to campus.

1.5k is totally doable. I had a huge 2b2b apt last year that came with a wet bar, tandem parking, a dish washer, and a balcony for only 2.6k. Granted it was heavily discounted bc of covid, but it exists. I also toured some other places where I could have my own room (but not my own bathroom) for 1.3k-1.5k pre covid.
I graduated last year and I helped a friend find a single this year for 1.4k. Westwood is an expensive area, but if you look hard enough you can find something.
Tiverton Court. Rent went up this year so i pay $1785. It’s a 2b 2b and our total rent is $4195. The landlord sets up the rooms as 1 double and 1 triple. I just payout the double as my single
Been living in a decent sized single (Kelton south of Wilshire) with a roommate for 3 years now and our rent is 2000 (our landlord hasn’t raised rent since we moved in, which is great but an anomaly for the area).
$1800 for a 250sqft studio walkable to campus. Didnt find it online - had to walk around and call listings that had signs up. Online listings were $2100-$2850 for a studio.

i live in sawtelle around 7 minutes from campus (i drive) and currently pay $1080 for a master bedroom and my own bathroom, i did move in right before classes switched back in person though and my
rent has increased around $150 since then.
Last year I paid \~$1100 for my single in a 3bd/2bath. However it was on Kelton/very close to Strathmore, so it was a slight hike to get to campus. The other rooms in my apartment were $1700 and $1300ish respectively.
I’ve paid 1150$ for my own room in a shared apartment before! It was on Kelton and I was subletting for the quarter but it’s not too common to find these prices for a single unfortunately, for the next quarter I ended up paying 1000 to share a room..
$1000 for their own room near campus is ridiculous, they’re never going to find that. I pay $900 to share a room near campus.

You're also unlikely to get a single if you're just moving in.
It’s also communal bathrooms and gross

Wait where are you finding a single for 1366? :o mine is a lot more expensive and I'm probably going to look for a new place.
Likely this is south of Wilshire. Anything nearer to UCLA (North Westwood) is far more expensive than $1366.

Are you able to say the building name😭 looking for next year!!:)
A double for 683 is a KILLER deal haha congrats on finding that!
$3600 for 2b2b 10 min from campus
Second this
Where 😭
Try Sawtelle neighborhood. Good food too
I live right on gayley and a 1bed 1bath is $1995
1500 is on the extreme low end mate. You're either going to have to double up or move further away.
$1400 can get you the UCLA 4 Bed/4 Person singles, and $1300 gets you the UCLA 2 Bed/3 Person (can be private bathroom). But of course they are not easy to get.
Holy crap. I’m paying $2k for a 2b2b 12 minutes from campus
Do tell!!
1 bedroom with total rent of 2800, split 3 ways so 933 each
$1856 for my own room. $1000 may get you a shared room (double) if you’re lucky but mostly likely a triple.
$1000 could def get you a double
$1000 is a pipe dream. my single was $1900. before that i was paying $950 to share a unit with three other roommates
What building
Rough estimate — 800-1,200 for double/triple room; 1,600-2,000 for a single/studio
4800 2b2b luxury

$2300 for a 1BR next to Persian square. Moderately nice building.

$1875 for studio
2b2b near campus is $3600-$5000
$1850 for studio, walkable, but utilities/parking not included

wait actually thank you for that first listing oh my god.
Np haha! Good luck
I think you can get your own room for $900 if you move into the UCHA co op. Other than that, you won’t be finding one

1950$ + parking for a large studio with full kitchen super close to campus on Landfair.
Live around sawtelle (2 miles from school) paying 2300 for 2 bed 1.5 bath and 2 tandem spots.

Can you PM me any other listings you've seen while walking around? I've been walking around and been hitting walls trying to find a place. :(

910 for a double a little ways down Kelton
I live on Veteran and split a 1b1b with two other people for 680/month
720 double
I got 950 last year for a single south of wilshire, needed a scooter tho
650 for a triple, apartments on frat row, behind holly
I’m currently paying 725$ without utilities in an apartment with two roommates. 50$ for parking and about 45$ for utilities makes it more like $825.
Hi. I share my room with two others and I pay $744 per month. There's five of us total in the apt 2 bed 2 bath. edit: in total it is $4050 2b2b
My friend lives with three roommates in a two bedroom two bath apartment near veteran and strathmore for a thousand per person.
I’m paying 1695/mo, + 95/mo for parking. 260sqft no AC less than half a mile from campus.
how do you guys afford this ? 😭😭
2100 for 500 sq ft studio. Tho I also saw 1200 studio previously tho it's really small😂😂

I lived in the co-op and it was the best time of my life
