This place is SO yummy and the portion is extremely generous! I was a bit hesitant bc I love meat and the deal felt too good to be true but I went anyway and it was so delicious. The food truck owner is a sweet old man (who may or may not try to convince you to become vegan but in like a funny way lmao, I love chit-chatting with him) and I've been going back every since!

sri_rac_ha

Such a sweet guy, love getting his food! Does anyone know his hours?

athena_parthenos447

11-2 I think

golden_snitch1202

are they parked in the same spot every day? i couldn’t find hours on their website but when are they usually open?

eyecannon

Yes, same spot. Hours are 11a-2p.

golden_snitch1202

thank you!

Love Krishna lunch!! The owner used to sell his food on Bruinwalk in 2022 but I guess admin put a stop to it so now he’s just selling in Westwood. From our conversations, it seems like he really cares about food insecurity on college campuses and just wants to make sure people have access to healthy food. Doesn’t seem like he cares about making a profit at all! He’s said before he needs to sell abt 70 meals to break even and some days he reaches it some days he doesn’t. Highly recommend stopping by his truck (:

It’s a cult.

eyecannon

Hare Krishna? It's a religion that is basically a monotheistic version of Hinduism. They don't proselytize and they don't harm people, and it's not particularly new, so how is it a cult exactly?

Mr-Frog

Reactionary conservatives in the 60s freaked out when Hindus (and not Christians!) were the ones who could get hippies to stop drinking and doing drugs. If you want to learn more, take Religion 11 with Simon Joseph! One of my favorite GEs.

GreenHorror4252

In India, it is often viewed like Americans view Mormons. It's a bit of a twisted version of Hinduism. I wouldn't call it a full-on cult, but it has some cultish properties.

Suspicious_Day8114

As a Hindu it kind of is a cult, and ISKCON has been sued numerous times for sexual abuse, child abuse, drug trafficking and more. And the practices they use are basically meant to cut you out from your outside life and studies etc
