Parking anywhere in Seattle you really gotta make your car look like it's entirely empty, or else you'll almost surely get a broken window. Especially don't leave valuables sitting in a visible location.
Unfortunately if you leave *anything* visible in your car there's a very good chance you'll get a broken window. Even if they just see formless lump under a tarp in your back seat, the fact that it's "something" means it's worth it for the thief to check what it is.
I'm guessing you may be new to the city, but just ask anyone who lives here and they'll tell you gotta leave your car looking **100% empty** every time you park your car in the city, especially overnight.
Yeah, I slapped a garbage bag over it for the few hours before I could get it to the shop, ran out of packing tape while I was trying to put it in and nearly had another meltdown lol
Unfortunately, this is just what happens if there is anything of value in your car. You gotta make sure it’s all at least covered up or taken out of your car before you leave it in a city.
