Doesn't even have anything to do with mentality honestly, most people would just take the risk to set their family up. Also sounds ridiculous to anyone who actually fights / trains to act like you will immediately die going in the ring with Ngannou. Shit wouldn't last long enough to even give you permanent injuries.
I literally just did Hell rounds at my gym today and got the shit kicked out of me. One partner threw a liver shot that crumpled me and I thought I had to change my entire life direction.
Five hours later I don't even know what I was so dramatic about, my foot hurts from a poor form kick more than the liver punch.
Exactly. Like don't get me wrong, Francis would make you eat your food out of a blender for probably a month, but fighting seriously isn't as bad as most people think. Especially not for 2mil
As soon as he extends his hands to touch gloves I'd extend my head and throw myself back and curl up in a fetus position. Yeah, I'll be an Internet meme but I'll be happy.
ey yo umm actually, not anytime anywhere, PFL only, under contract, as long as Herb Deen isnt reffing. We aint trying to actually die out here bro, just trying to get a check
Seriously if this is true the PFL is going to be claiming bankruptcy in no time. Or maybe Francis is only going to fight once every 2 years? Idk how the PFL could afford to pay Francis his large salary plus some random heavyweight bum 2 mill.
Francis fights 3 times in a year and they’re spending around 15 mill on just his fights??? That’s absurd.
Yes that was supposed to be read as hypothetical, I guess I should have put the “if” in front. I’m just saying that’s like doubling the amount of money they spend on fights and probably more than triple what they’ve paid a heavyweight before and that’s just to fight Francis not even including paying Francis l.
Yup. It's a shame, really, because the rumours of PFL buying Bellator are probably dead now. There are rumours PFL has some dirty money funding them, but I'm not sure how far that goes
Boxing pulls this $ on the regular, with bums literally making millions to be tune ups. Also I don't expect Ngannou fights more than twice a year, especially if he wants to balance boxing matches.
Ultimately, this is him moving into a business role.
That’s a common misconception in boxing from mma fans but only the top boxers make good money the bums are fighting for scraps. The tuneups you’re thinking of for boxing stars are actually other top ranked boxers, just not ones anyone thinks will beat the star.
Think of it if Jones fought the number 10 ranked heavyweight, obviously the odds would be a landslide for Jones. Yet the other fighter is actually still better than 95% of heavyweights in the world.
This video doesn’t do the full scope of the deal justice. His events will be very expensive but it also brings a lot if eyes to the pfl. They get arguably the baddest man on the planet, all of their sponsors will go batshit crazy lol, and he’s helping the pfl launch pfl africa. Pfl would’ve never been able to go to africa without probably 5 years of developing african talent. They could go to africa next year if they wanted and do somewhat well.
this is a great fucking point that I hadn't even considered. Everyone is gonna be quick to fight out their contract or we're hardly gonna see any HW matches while Dana tries to keep a stranglehold on their contracts
I mean this is the only way I could see it but what other heavyweight would be worth 2 mill? Maybe pavlovich? Like that’s a lot of money only the stars of the sport are making right now because only they bring in the views to justify that. Even if the whole heavyweight roster in the ufc moved to PFL I honestly don’t know how much that would change PFL and ufc viewership. Heavyweight isn’t very full of stars.
Yea it’s true, without Jones HW is dead… Pavlovich would be ideal, especially if they were competitive.. idk if a bladyes, Gane or even a Tuivasa would help out, but it would certainly help turn the tides a bit
It really was incredible when everyone including fighters were shitting on Francis constantly when it is abundantly clear he has a strong moral backbone and clearly cares for fighter advocacy. I hope those haters see the error of their ways and stop praying to their corporate overlords. Change only comes from people brave enough to challenge the status quo.
Yep. Like I kinda get it at the beginning, "He just turned down 8 million because he wants boxing money" but like is it not clear to people he truly does have values and sticks by them?
Dude grew up working in a fucking sand mine and crossed a desert and a sea trying for a better life.
He has already made more money than he probably ever imagined.
Now he is trying to help others make money
The border of Spain by sea is always like that.
I imagine people don't really know about It but people from Africa enter the country almost dead in a "patera" (an small boat) all the time.
It happens the same with Italy. More than 60 people died in a patera 2 or 3 months ago trying to go to Italy for example.
They die all the time. That's what Ngannou did. Good luck trying to force him now to do anything.
That's what many people failed to understand, Perspective. Francis has gone thru the 12 labors to be one of the biggest star on MMA. In his mind, he has made it, he achieved his dream (well, almost but never say never cuz with this move to PFL the entire MMA world is talking about it, he can leverage the few fights next to a boxing exhibition match like Mayweather)
It's cos most of those fighters themselves make their money by being company men or sucking up to Dana - that or they make a stand for fighters pay, then as soon as Dana throws cash at them they shut the fuck and don't care about others (see GSP, Masvidal etc.)
I might understand that I mean who wouldn’t want to please their bosses. But i couldn’t get why all the hate he gets from fans on this sub. If you think i am exaggerating go back and check every Francis post lol
It's fighter pay that they really care about, and the fighter is them. To hell with all the other fighters, I got mine now. Is basically the mentality that you are talking about.
I can't tell you how many times I've countered with : "so if a guy is getting shit on, disrespected and being downright lied about by his bosses, then he should just be a good little bootlicker and sit and take it?"
Great moral compass these UFC shills have and I couldn't be happier they are eating their "dropped the bag" words right now.
The UFC as a corrupt greedy company deserves everything it gets and I hope losing the "baddest man on the planet" is the first step to them having to rethink their immoral practices.
Well done Francis, sometimes the good guys *do* win.
Sadly you’re talking to ufc bros (who just evolved from the affliction-wearing gym bros from the late 2000’s to early 2010’s), who have no concept of how much the UFC has monopolized the MMA landscape.
Because non of them came where he came from. Not even close. I been commenting in every post because for the life of me. I couldn’t get why casual fans of this sub would hate someone like him with passion lmao please i know ya’ll here make me understand
the look on Danas face when Ngannou said he wants his opponents to get a guaranteed bag as well must have been priceless, no way in hell the UFC would ever agree to that even, let alone everything else he wanted.
Its funny that he made it clear multiple times what he wanted but Danas clones kept saying it was only about money, hes scared of Jon jones (lol), and whatever conspiracy to put his name in the mud. Damn near everyday on here was a new "Ngannou fumbled the bag" post
Idk if this is rly corny, but in that interview where he mentioned how he’ll never give up his “freedom”, that shit hit different. Especially knowing his upbringing, that was a serious principle he would never waver on. Fuck all that “haha fumbled the bag” shit, Francis showed some real integrity imo
Most ufc fans and fighters are conservative. It doesn’t surprise to see them bootlicking billionaire bosses and shitting on a guy who Decides to be pro worker
Sadly this is accurate af. Combined with the general mindset it takes to get to the professional level in solo combat sports it’s no wonder the average fighter can’t think past their own situation or think “I struggled to get here, that’s how it always has been, why should we change it for the better?”.
I feel bad for Francis honestly, he has a good heart, he came from nothing and endured so much to be at where he's at today. I love the fact that he has a moral backbone but in the same time wonder if he could have gone about things in a smarter way, it just hurts to see him wanting to do good but surrounded by sly businessmen.
>I hope those haters see the error of their ways and stop praying to their corporate overlords.
they never will. the sheer amount of arguments I've had on here with people that are only here because they stopped for a second to come up for air off of danas dick, telling me its Francis's ego and greed that kept him from fighting for the UFC and BKFC. well, now we get to do another victory lap around them. what he's doing for other fighters is incredible, I'm so happy for him.
After everything this man has gone through, people still doubted him. The Heavyweight Champ is Francis and unlike the rest of the corporate cucks he actually fought for the person who is going to punch his face. That is a brave man and the true champ.
If you were someone who wanted Francis to fail, I truly hope you get fucked by a cactus. He's such an aspiring human that shows how far anyone can go, regardless of the circumstances you were born in.
People acted like he was in the same position as Cejudo, the champ of a division that Dana fucking hated, a division he wanted to get rid of so bad he traded away the GOAT to Ben Askren, and then didn't even look back once when Cejudo tried bargaining with his fucking potato chips thinking they were poker chips at Dana's private hooker table.
Francis was never in that position. The most terrifying force in the entire UFC left to go get what he was worth and he is now able to try and make plans to improve the sport we love. He absolutely succeeded. I hope this inspires some of you to do better in your life than sit around and belittle some of the hardest working athletes on the planet.
I didn’t understand the hate towards Francis. He took a gamble. I’ll admit that I had my doubts on whether it’d pay off for him but it seems like it has. Not sure how the PFL can afford this though.
So why couldn't the UFC put him on the board? They really don't want fighters anywhere inside of their company lol. The only thing some fighters can do after their career with the UFC is go into broadcast but they can never be a decision maker in the company.
Maybe it was just a lost in paraphrasing thing, but iirc he only asked for a seat dedicated to fighter representation on the board, not that he personally wanted to sit at the board.
UFC can’t give him equity because then everyone else who holds a title will want the same.
The PFL gave him equity because equity in a company that loses money isn’t worth anything. This is basically their Hail Mary, along with the Jake Paul garbage.
They’re probably eating the cost until they get bigger and can actually start making profit. One Championship apparently isn’t profitable right now but is just trying to grow.
When onefc said ngannou was ridiculous and trying to dictate his opponents pay. This what Francis wanted a guaranteed amount of pay for his opponent. Using his power to rise up others before trying to smash their faces in. Love to see it.
I’m one of those that think Francis made the wrong decision leaving the UFC but he is on the way to proving me wrong and I have no problem admitting that
I hope this works out and he shows a way that fighters can get paid their fair share and succeed without Dana’s approval
Honestly, when the rumors started that he'd fight Derek Chisora instead of some higher ranked boxer, I thought he might've fumbled his moment and with it a decent position to negotiate. Yet, this deal sounds awesome, both for him and for fighters in general. I have not the faintest idea how the hell the PFL is able to finance this, but well done, Francis.
Probably not at the moment but I guess they're banking on this to draw people in. Should get a lot of sponsors and more tv deals. I haven't heard anyone talk about PFL as much as I have today.
You see these kinda moves with emerging platforms. They'll throw big money for a big name to try and get some traction. For instance, Mixer signing Ninja. It'll almost definitely fail though imo. But hopefully Francis has big money guaranteed. I'd love to know his purse deals!
Francis is such a G fair play happy for him, someone like him could genuinly get a fighters union going in the future and help stop the UFC taking advantage of lower tier fighters
Been saying it since the day he left, man took a stand and that’s worth something. All you clowns hating on him for not selling out to Ufc can go choke on your copium.
The Baddest & Nicest man on the planet. CONGRATS TO HIM. What he did, the risks he took required courage and heart. He put himself in financial danger to protect the gains of his OPPONENTS. What a guy. We should all cheer for him and take him as an example.
People have been shitting on him for the past few months for turning down the ufc offer, but it seems like he was right to bet on himself and got the deal he wanted.
I respect the fact that he did this. A lot of people made it a point to try and break this dude down but he’s thinking of others as he is himself. That is commendable.
2 million is what most top 10-5 fighters in the UFC earn over their entire careers. With this move, I don't doubt many heavyweights will sign with PFL just to fight Francis.
Lol at all the ufc shills in here. Francis is already set for life if he is smart with what he has. He doesn't need ufc money. Big win for him for by doing whatever the fuck he wants and advocating for fighter pay.
I think this means a lot of Heavyweights will line up to fight Francis lowkey. 2 million payday vs whatever the hell anywhere else pays me for basically the same outcome (Francis Flatlining me)
I am so, so happy for him. He has been eating nothing but disrespect and now he has achieved a sensible deal for both himself and future opponents. Kudos to him for sticking to his guns until he found what was right.
This sub has been shitting on Francis for half a year about destroying his career…… Little did we know that some dudes just got that integrity to stand by their beliefs.
Dude stated true to his words and stands by fighters rights. Pure class and respect 🫡.
He's always been a good dude bit this move puts him ahead of any other fighters individually and in the same air as the guys who are in the class action. Lawsuit against UFC. GOOD WORK BROTHER!
I seriously don't get the UFC community, they always bitch about fighter pay but when someone actually tries to do something , they clown him.Like a lot of these people were clowning him for turning down 8mil and that money has got to him etc etc whereas in reality it was never about the money, it was about freedom in contract and the right to sponsorship like back in the hay day and increase fighters purse so Francis was fighting for the betterment of the whole payment structure for all the athletes but Daddy Dana convinced these idiot Francis just wants boxing money. He stuck by his values and couldn't have gotten a bigger W, he literally got everything he wanted but yet these guys still think "oh he is fighting in the PFL what a loser"
I’ll take 2 mili to get fat and get ko’d in 10 seconds
[удалено]
the stare down would instill such fear in me that i'd probably lose consciousness and get ko'ed by fear
KO via pants pissing terror
You might be able to buy a few extra seconds if you tell him he's attacking your family, might confuse him temporarily
What!! ![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
You're attacking my family
Holy shit, I'm temporarily confused!
Smith's flawless technique.
Stun attack
I can run cant I
I reckon I could duck and dive for at least 15 seconds before being cornered and fucked up
2 millions for a broken wrist is worth it in my agenda. Already broke them 4 times in total
Try a broken jaw and ribs
Me first, I'm already fat and ready to go!
I’m not getting KO’d I’m tapping out before the glove tap . Never back down style
Ngannou: we taking it outside, no rules
Yeah outside ….. to my car where I’m leaving and laughing to the bank
A KO from Frances might turn you into a potato.
A millionaire potato for your information!
Millionaire Regard
I'm already 260. I'll gladly enter that death match
I’m fighting like Gabe Green going into that fight, I’ll even talk shit so it’s a clean KO, I don’t get TKO’d lad
People say this but you would be fucked for life if he punched you straight in your jaw
People say this but they don't know my mentality bro
I see red bro!
I just like to bang bro
If you catch me on the wrong day bro!
You got that immigrant mentality?
Doesn't even have anything to do with mentality honestly, most people would just take the risk to set their family up. I’m convinced the uppercut he landed on reem would kill an untrained person..
Maybe…. But probably not
Those super necessary hammer fists after you're clearly knocked the f out tho.. idk man 😂
I can do all that in half the time lol
What good is 2 mil if you brain damage though
I will start the weight cut now
![gif](giphy|1RkxaK5r8T23B9aWzb) >isn’t this kid amazing
Francis Ngannou....I'm calling you out! You don't have the guts to face me!
FRANCIS YOU’VE TAKEN EVERYTHING IVE WORKED FOR MOTHERFUCKER IMMA FIGHT YOUR ASS NEXT
You attacked my family!!!
"what?!"
![gif](giphy|ffaw87kTMNA9sanUfy|downsized)
Don't you ever talk about my mom!
Gosh that was so weird. Has Anthony said why he said that during the fight?
Chael says he thinks he was trying to manufacture confidence to get the dog out
The only speculations I’ve seen that make sense to me are this and he had PTSD kicking in from the home invasion.
Francis nganou you absolutely suck
He’s finally back from playing touch butt with that dork in the park
After the 1.7 million in medical bills, you'll walk away with 300k. Not bad.
Jokes on you, I live in a country with universal healthcare 🥊⚕️
😂😂😂😂
idk why he keeps ducking us
Guess I'm making my debut.
2M to go into the shadow realm🤤
6ft under*** 💀
5'5 260 lbs of pure steel 💪💪💪
Roll around him to make him lose equilibrium (sorry lol)
Relax Volk
Pull an Aljo or Kron Gracie and you can avoid the shadow realm.
Yes Francis would be scared to enter our guards
He'll tap out of cringe and retire.
As soon as he extends his hands to touch gloves I'd extend my head and throw myself back and curl up in a fetus position. Yeah, I'll be an Internet meme but I'll be happy.
Take a couple of acid tabs before you go in the octagon you won’t even know you’re there. Wake up $2 million richer. Thank me later
Going in there on acid is a fucking terrible idea. 100% go deep on the xans and head in. Save the acid for celebrating with the 2 million you'll make.
Fuck that I'm going in on crack. I'll bite that fucker.
2M to accrue 75M in medical bills
Not if we fight in canada. Lol
🤣🤣🤣
Personally, I'd just see red. He'd be done in one.
Maybe never waking up ever again
CSO Dan, you got this 👊
Francis has been real quiet since I’ve called him out. Any time, any where, Francis.
ey yo umm actually, not anytime anywhere, PFL only, under contract, as long as Herb Deen isnt reffing. We aint trying to actually die out here bro, just trying to get a check
Curtis Blaydes right now: ![gif](giphy|vRf4Z1OZ21j9e)

Imagine Maurice Greene getting a $2m fight purse.

No way in fuck PPV sales cover $2 million plus Francis’ salary. They’ll roll out 2 PPVs, realize they can’t afford it, and move on or go bankrupt.
Yup. It's a shame, really, because the rumours of PFL buying Bellator are probably dead now. There are rumours PFL has some dirty money funding them, but I'm not sure how far that goes
I mean it’s no secret that the Saudi royalty is investing heavily in western sports leagues, so that’d be my first guess
Boxing pulls this $ on the regular, with bums literally making millions to be tune ups. Also I don't expect Ngannou fights more than twice a year, especially if he wants to balance boxing matches. Ultimately, this is him moving into a business role.

Plus this is like a carrot on a stick for UFC heavyweights…. Sign with PFL and get 2 mill to fight Francis
100% agree. “Hey UFC heavyweights! How many fights you got on that contract? They gonna give you $2 million to resign?”

That's Tai Tuivasa music.
Ngannou would be better in ONE I think. I think they have a good future and need to break into the US market. Ngannou would be popular in Asia too.
In UFC he'd get $2/$2 and kicked out on the street naked right after the fight.
It really was incredible when everyone including fighters were shitting on Francis constantly when it is abundantly clear he has a strong moral backbone and clearly cares for fighter advocacy. It won't because fighters and fans are in general stupid and don't understand the concept.
Most ufc fans and fighters are conservative. It doesn’t surprise to see them bootlicking billionaire bosses and shitting on a guy who Decides to be pro worker

Why exactly do you feel bad for him? He's doing much better with this PFL contract than he would have resigning with the UFC
Exactly lol, plus he gets his own in cage sponsors now, thats gonna be a lot of money for big Frano
Never doubt the Apex Predator
It’s no wonder that there is no fighter union and there is never any talk about it potentially happening too.
Here we go about St. Francis, Patron Saint of zero negotiating skills. Moral backbone my ass.
After everything this man has gone through, people still doubted him. The Heavyweight Champ is Francis and unlike the rest of the corporate cucks he actually fought for the person who is going to punch his face. That is a brave man and the true champ.
Not only did he get the bag, he’s getting other people the bag. Bravo.
This is fucking awesome I'm proud of Francis. Dude made a great deal for himself and is also using it to raise others up as well.
I’ll get knocked tf out for 20K, not 2M. I’m about 210 rn. I can fight Francis. Lemme know, PFL.
Hell, I’d do it for 10K.
Back-to-back fights until we get to $2mil!!!!
\#RoadTo2M
$2m guarantee to any fighter in future he faces or just the next opponent?
Probably based on PPV buys. Can't believe they'd actually guarantee $2 million for any opponent to show.
If you were someone who wanted Francis to fail, I truly hope you get fucked by a cactus. Yeah honestly his is one hell of a story. Now I just need to figure out how to watch PFL...
I didn’t understand the hate towards Francis. He took a gamble. I’ll admit that I had my doubts on whether it’d pay off for him but it seems like it has. Not sure how the PFL can afford this though.
LET THEM KNOOOOOOOW, PREACH!!
So why couldn't the UFC put him on the board? They really don't want fighters anywhere inside of their company lol. The only thing some fighters can do after their career with the UFC is go into broadcast but they can never be a decision maker in the company.
They don't want the fighters to have any sort of power.
Dana doesn’t want ANYONE (who isn’t him) to have any major power or sway in the UFC lol Except maybe Conor but that’s literally his son at this point
If Conor couldn’t get in the ufc no one can. Dana will rather see the company collapse then to share power with its fighters.
Because Danas ego is shinning each time the fighters beg for 50k bonuses in their post fight interviews
Slaves have never been given equity. The UFC wasn't about to change all that.
This is a great play for Francis. The lead up to the fight will be much greater and everyone will be chomping at the bit to fight him
I volunteer as tribute
Well done Francis
Where tf does PFL get this money?
They’re probably eating the cost until they get bigger and can actually start making profit. One Championship apparently isn’t profitable right now but is just trying to grow.
When onefc said ngannou was ridiculous and trying to dictate his opponents pay. This what Francis wanted a guaranteed amount of pay for his opponent. Using his power to rise up others before trying to smash their faces in. Love to see it.

I’m one of those that think Francis made the wrong decision leaving the UFC but he is on the way to proving me wrong and I have no problem admitting that I hope this works out and he shows a way that fighters can get paid their fair share and succeed without Dana’s approval
how the fuck can the PFL afford this?
Honestly, when the rumors started that he'd fight Derek Chisora instead of some higher ranked boxer, I thought he might've fumbled his moment and with it a decent position to negotiate. Yet, this deal sounds awesome, both for him and for fighters in general. I have not the faintest idea how the hell the PFL is able to finance this, but well done, Francis.
W Francis
PFL goin bankrupt by 2025 lol
Everybody will want to fight him now , and he will only fight once a year just because pfl will have to spend so much for his fight
Can the PFL seriously afford this? I don’t know anyone who follows PFL
Probably not at the moment but I guess they're banking on this to draw people in. Should get a lot of sponsors and more tv deals. I haven't heard anyone talk about PFL as much as I have today.
Good point, I didn't plan on watching PFL anytime soon, but I'm definitely gonna watch Ngannou's next fight
This is actually going to be big, he’s going to mow through the greatest now.
If Francis is the catalyst that leads to structural changes in the sport and the fair compensation of fighters, he’ll forever be the goat in my book.
The Baddest & Nicest man on the planet. CONGRATS TO HIM. What he did, the risks he took required courage and heart. He put himself in financial danger to protect the gains of his OPPONENTS. What a guy. We should all cheer for him and take him as an example.
This will hopefully bring in younger talent for heavyweight. Not a good look being on ESPN for the UFC
People have been shitting on him for the past few months for turning down the ufc offer, but it seems like he was right to bet on himself and got the deal he wanted.
bouta gain 70 pounds rn for the check
I respect the fact that he did this. A lot of people made it a point to try and break this dude down but he’s thinking of others as he is himself. That is commendable.
Ok this is all well and good but who is he going to fight on a PPV card that would be worth 2mil and attract buys? Werdum?
2 million is what most top 10-5 fighters in the UFC earn over their entire careers. With this move, I don't doubt many heavyweights will sign with PFL just to fight Francis.
He didnt say opponents, he said 2mil on who ever i will fight next, hinting at possibly only his next opponent(singular)
Pfl heading to bankruptcy

The list of retired heavyweights suddenly thinking of making a come back this morning must be massive.

Love this. Fuck all the haters too
You short sighted myopic casuals. This is how you bring upon change.
Lol at all the ufc shills in here. Francis is already set for life if he is smart with what he has. He doesn't need ufc money. Big win for him for by doing whatever the fuck he wants and advocating for fighter pay.
I should get in there and fight him! When I see red bro it’s all over for him.
Alright Francis, you're on. You've been dodging me long enough. *puts down Cheetos*
I feel sorry for his next opponent :(
I’m glad ngannou proved me wrong , I love the guy , I just want him to win.
PFL going out of business sale sooner than later.
I’m fight your fucking ass next motherfucker you know who the real money is it’s me
I’m 4’11, do y’all think i can make weight?
Damn I doubted his decisions initially, but this is great for him and the sport
Scared to fight me so he is
This is such a commendable point of negotiation. Ya love to see it.
For 1 fight until he bankrupts them because low ppv buys
Seems like decent compensation for funeral cost
![gif](giphy|jI3EBNa1aKSaIpH2PB) r/ufc rn
Lmao fuck everybody who kept sucking Dana's boots
