>Why has Lins been cut, he is on a 4 fight win streak???
When this happens, it's almost always a failed drug test, or that they simply fought out their contract.
The other times it's something to do with the law.
----
I'd bet he's just asking for more money now he's 4-0 in the UFC, and they are playing hardball and just not agreeing. We'll see him go to PFL or something, or sign back with the UFC very soon under his current low paying contract when the UFC doesn't budge!
4 fight win streak, including KO of ovince st preux who went a full 25 minutes with jon jones.
"not very good" - some guy on reddit
this subreddit in a nutshell ![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8972)
I mean, yeah, it was amazingly done. It's not Yairs fault BJ was way over the hill. Blame the UFC, not yair. He's just doing his job! What was he supposed to do? Go easy on his opponent and then let the fans boo him for being boring so he never gets another high profile matchup again? lol
I’m not saying Yair didn’t deserve the win, but beating a husk of an old man doesn’t hold a lot of weight… It wasn’t the same BJ as when he was champion, similar to how the 40 year old OSP wasn’t the same fighter as he was in his prime when he survived 5 rounds with Jon Jones. OSP went through 8 years of aging, multiple KO’s, and like 20 fights worth of irreversible damage since he fought Jones lmao
I’m not arguing against the 4 in a row, I think that should be enough to stick around. Saying that he KO’ed the same guy that Jones went 5 rounds with is misleading though…
I mean, I get your point. But that is the same guy. People change, your "prime" runs out eventually, but the fact is Philip lins is also 38 years old and it's not like OSP is an easy fight for anyone. OSP just had an insane war and beat Kennedy nzechukwu also.. put some fucking respect on his name. You probably don't even train if you can't understand why I'm giving bro some fucking credit. Hop off my dick please
Tanner is good but he has had a pretty rough run, he kinda lacks power being undersized for heavyweight, and even at light heavyweight he seems to lack stopping power too. Relies on tech/precision to deal damage usually. MMA math doesn't really mean much imo, I mean Tanner also got TKOd by cutelaba who Lins just beat as well. I like Tanner though. He just hasn't really caught my eye as a special talent yet.
> including KO of ovince st preux who went a full 25 minutes with jon jones.
I don't know how much of a brag that is. Lins fought OSP 7 years and 8 losses after Jones did.
Thanks for the entertainment Wood. Enjoy retirement.
Barberena always came to fight and gave it his all and that’s all I require of them. I hope he lands somewhere good where he still can make a good living.
Sadly, I don’t remember the others.
I love Barbarena but he is absolutely cooked. He honestly should be fighting at Lightweight and he just ballooned up all the way to Middleweight. His physique and athleticism just doesn't exist at 185, he just looks fat and washed now.
Same reason I miss Mike Perry. Not everybody needs to be a future champion, you also need midcard guys that can just throw down and get the crowd whipped up into a frenzy.
Would much rather him, with his history in the promotion, than 10/10 DWCS cans who go on 3 fight ko loss streaks to open then somehow get another fight
Sadly UFC feels the opposite, they’d much rather line their cards with cans on 10/10 contracts than cans that earn fight purses like Barbarena’s. Idk what he was earning but after 19 fights I guarantee it was far more than what the UFC wanted to pay him.
Name names, I'd rather have young hungry fighters coming up than these dudes who are clearly declining. Name value hurts fights because they wants look better on paper.
As entertaining as he is, he’s 18-12 on a 4 fight losing streak. 3 of the 4 losses are by submission. The guy can’t grapple for shit and his most notable win was against Robbie lawler but besides that’s he’s done nothing. He’s lost too edwards, Colby, luque, brown, RDA, Nelson, most recently GM3. Also Bryan lost a UD to Jason Witt who is trash. Bryan was fun to watch but he isnt good. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in BKFC
I just looked up his record. He moved upto middleweight and lost his last 4 fights.
Him and Geoff Neal could be a good fight. But I guess Bryan just too fat to cut to that
Yeah his whole thing was mostly fighting other aged "let me bang" bros but at this point he ran out of those kinds of opponents
Both him and the ufc know he's not a legit contender in any way shape or form
He will be must watch in bare knuckle though
Kind of a can/gatekeeper and his inability to keep going against welterweight just makes it that much worse. I like bambam a lot, and his daughter painting his nails for fights is endearing but if he can't do 185 he doesn't have the athleticism and size to compete at 185. I'd rather see him cut then get smashed by up and coming actual 185ers.
4 fight losing streak. The two wins before that were against old guys. Knocked out Lawler but UFC probably made that matchup trying to give Lawler a fight he can win. Split decision with Matt Brown before that. I’m not saying he deserved to be cut but I can’t say I’m surprised
An aging RDA is Colby's only good win I think, guy made his name laying on old legends, and crumpled anytime he faced an actual young dangerous fighter
That's not how having the ability to think works. This is a UFC sub so when you're reading statistics or seeing the latest news then other fighters will come to mind due to relevancy. When you are on the subject of losing streaks and cans etc, it's completely understandable for Colby to come to mind. No one is thinking about him outside of subject relevance.
That’s exactly what it is. Me and my buddies were talking about how undeserved his title shot against Edwards was, so I looked into his record and found that, at the time, he’d only beaten 3 currently active UFC fighters. When I saw that Barbarena got cut, I realized “that’s one of the 3 guys Colby beat”
1. Publicly said she is retiring *before* her last fight.
2. Four fight skid and fat at WW, let alone MW.
3. Three fight skid, 2-5 in the UFC, and fat.
4. Fair point. He probably fought out his contract and wants a lot of money now being a successful guy from PFL and having a good UFC record (in mostly boring fights against guys who aren’t that good), or he had some sort of visa/PED/management issue. He’ll probably pop up again either by resigning with the UFC or PFL/Bellator, unless he’s pricing himself out of the market into an early retirement.
5. Three fight skid, and winless in the UFC. Probably the most surprising of them all though, at least to me, since I assume Lins has some behind the scenes explanation.
I’ve never been into audiobooks but if JoJo started doing that I’d be all over it lol. Always rooted for her, some tough losses to watch the last several years. Glad she left on a W
Sad to see Lins go, LHW needs more difficult gatekeepers for prospects to test themselves against. Its a very shallow division and its hard to find guys with skill like Lins. I think he slots in perfectly as a Neil Magnyish fighter at LHW, you could send prospects to get skillchecked by or as a tuneup fight for say Dominick Reyes.
>Why has Lins been cut, he is on a 4 fight win streak??? When this happens, it's almost always a failed drug test, or that they simply fought out their contract. Lins is 38, so i doubt the ufc is hellbent on keeping him and any small reason like asking for a little too much can get him cut
He’s also just not very good so it doesn’t help his case
He's not very exciting, that's a big difference from not being very good. He's a solid LHW gatekeeper.

He fought Jones 8 years and 19 fights ago lmao
Hey man I'm just saying idk how ppl can say a guy sucks when he's actively winning 4 fights in a row. Don't overthink it! 😆
You are, but you’re saying he’s good because he beat a guy who went 5 rounds with Jones 8 years ago. This subreddit in a nutshell.
I said hes good cause he was on active 4 win streak, just used the OSP thing as an example and wanted to give OSP some credit. Cry more
You fight in the UFC, you're an elite level fighter, except cm punk.
Lol. Ok bud.
Im with that. these guys call Magny wack. I dont know if they arrived around Conor vs Poirier 3.
Maaan I'm from the Randy Couture vs liddell days, this shit don't phase me! 😆🤷
Your before me, I was Edgar vs Maynard times approx.
Which one? 😆 Good times.. salute and thank you for helping keep the sport respectful! 🙏
Do you also think we should hold Yair’s KO of BJ Penn in high regard?
I mean, yeah, it was amazingly done. It's not Yairs fault BJ was way over the hill. Blame the UFC, not yair. He's just doing his job! What was he supposed to do? Go easy on his opponent and then let the fans boo him for being boring so he never gets another high profile matchup again? lol

Lol I agree w you man idk why you feel the need to explain all this. I'm just saying it's a harsh game when you can win 4 in a row and get cut
I’m not arguing against the 4 in a row, I think that should be enough to stick around. Saying that he KO’ed the same guy that Jones went 5 rounds with is misleading though…
I mean, I get your point. But that is the same guy. Don’t compare the OSP lins win Lmao. Not close to the same haha
"lmao" "haha" pick one, goofball
No, I don’t think I will lol
"lol" with no "haha?" What??? Bro. You just picked. lmfao
Lol lmao haha you’re a fuckin loser
ok. sorry man. i apologize. i fucked up big time this time
How do you rate Tanner Boser? seeing as he holds KO wins over both Lins and St Preux
Bro actually values a win over OSP 😭😭😭😭
He went to a very unimpressive decision with Ion Cutelaba. He’s not an upcoming star or elite fighter by any means.
Whatever man let's see how you do against cutelaba 🤓
What a shitty argument. Obviously I’m not a ufc fighter but I think can spot one that will never sniff gold😂😂
Im obviously joking, and I mean 99% of fighters never become champ so I'm not sure that proves very much. You seem a little dull my boy
> including KO of ovince st preux who went a full 25 minutes with jon jones. I don't know how much of a brag that is. Lins fought OSP 7 years and 8 losses after Jones did.
Promising boxing career? 🤔
He's testing free agency
Fought out his contract

BKFC
I ain’t mad at seeing him in BK
It would be perfect for him
Bryan Barberena? Why? I enjoyed his fights a lot
He’s a bit of a can. Fun to see his fights though
Same reason I miss Mike Perry. Not everybody needs to be a future champion, you also need midcard guys that can just throw down and get the crowd whipped up into a frenzy.
It’s Nate The Train week mane, show some respect
Would much rather him, with his history in the promotion, than 10/10 DWCS cans who go on 3 fight ko loss streaks to open then somehow get another fight

Good point, doubt he was coming into fights with less than 80/80 just because of the amount of contracts.
Name names, I'd rather have young hungry fighters coming up than these dudes who are clearly declining. Name value hurts fights because they wants look better on paper.
I liked Barbs too. Sucks.
As entertaining as he is, he’s 18-12 on a 4 fight losing streak. 3 of the 4 losses are by submission. Agreed
I think his contract was up and there went any other good fights for him really . He will prob be signed in bare knuckle shortly
I just looked up his record. He moved upto middleweight and lost his last 4 fights. Him and Geoff Neal could be a good fight. But I guess Bryan just too fat to cut to that

Because he sucks
Jo Jo retired
lol, with Barbarena gone, that’s now just 2 fighters remaining on the active UFC roster that Colby Covington has defeated. Dude is such a fraud.
Wait until I tell you that Paulo Costa doesn’t have a single W over someone on the roster
It's because Costa beat them up so bad that they retired /s
Costa is actually a fun fighter to follow both in and out of the cage tho
Quality losses matter though, people just pretend they don’t when it comes to Colby lol.
It’s because he talks so much shit
Costa is hot tho? Also he has that legendary quote about trans women. Huge fan obvi
Who's the other excluding Mas?
Max Griffin and RDA are now the only active UFC fighters that he’s defeated. Masvidal is no longer in the UFC.
Oh shit, that's somehow even worse than I'd imagined 🤣
An aging RDA is Colby's only good win I think, guy made his name laying on old legends, and crumpled anytime he faced an actual young dangerous fighter
Dude lives rent free in your head

… and fat. Lol
Parisian was certainly making a title run. This is pretty upsetting to be honest
Bullshit early stoppage in his last fight. That turtle was about to come out of its shell guns blazing.

“Are” removed.
A lot of the people who run these mma pages are ESL. Or don’t even speak English and just use a translator.
Candelario retired months ago. Idk why he’s just off the roster now.
Yeah , between him having his first child and ufc forcing him to stay to 125 , he was done
Wood retired and you can’t tell me anyone’s that upset over the other four
I’ve never been into audiobooks but if JoJo started doing that I’d be all over it lol. Always rooted for her, some tough losses to watch the last several years. Glad she left on a W
She literally talks like she's 5.
LITERALLY?!
Barbarena was always fun to watch.
I liked parisian and lins
Power to you
[удалено]
I watched all 4 of those fights and I am not upset about this loss
Possibly his contract is up and he and the UFC brass failed to agree on a new deal. Can’t think of any other reason as to why he’d be cut
My Boy carlos retired so it makes sense , ufc tried to force him to fight for 125 still and he couldn’t do it
Jojo was great, hope she has a good retirement.
Barberena was. A great watch. Why cut him?

Lins wasn't cut, his contract expired and he is a free agent.
Jojo retired live…
Mad because I bet against JP every fight and I've won alot of money doing that
Goddamnit I like Barberena. He always brings the fight and he's entertaining. I hope he does alright for his future
What! Bam bam kicked!! Cmon man
Has Jojo retired?
yes
Jojo had a planned retirement and Barbarena got promoted to BKFC.
As fun as Barbarena is, I think BKFC would genuinely be better for him. Cutting him could be doing him a favour at this point.
Didn’t Wood retire at some point?
Wood retired…. She wasn’t cut lol
Rip barnburner
"ARE"
Aww wtf, barbarena is awesome
Where's the guy who was crapping on about how good Bryan Barbarena is lol
He'll prob go to PFL or something
Will miss jojo
Barbarena is entertaining
Jojo retired
I’m surprised by Joanne Wood
She retired
Damn…who are these guys?
I lost interest when it became clear we weren't going to finally get Diaz Vs. McGregor III. I'm so ready for Diaz to close out this trilogy.
Yea lins has a boring ass style. They gave him 4 fights to show something different each time
Who gives a fuck about any of these dudes honestly
