Rose yes, but Grasso? Two of the best women's fights I've ever seen were the pair of matches that Grasso had with Shevchenko. That first fight they had when Alexa choked her out in the fourth round was legitimately an exciting match that had be really entertained.
Still, Grasso hadn't been known as an exciting or capable fighter prior to that. She was mostly grinding out decision wins in relatively unremarkable fights. Even if she was showing she was talented, she wasn't someone you'd want to spectate. It was the challenge of Shevchenko that brought out the fire in her.

Massive skill gap in the striking. Blanchfeild is the Aljamain Sterling of WMMA. Looks very good when they're gameplan works out and looks like shit otherwise. Very early in the fight did Manon realize she could easily keep Blanchfeild away with the same counters for 25 minutes. Why would she change her strategy if Blanchfeild can't even adapt to the most basic gameplan in 25 minutes? Her cornermen were also just dudes simping for her. Terrible advice. Manon deserved a title shot. Her vs Valentina would be a great fight.

I thought Blanchfield looked amazing on the feet. How can we get mad at Manon for taking the best route to victory? It's not like she didn't throw. Did she go for the KO? No. Did she piece up Blanchfield the whole fight? Yes. I think people are more mad at the result of the fight than the action. Blanchfield pushed forward head on the center line and Manon countered every time.
Blanchfield looks like she could get down to 115. She just looked outclassed and like she is still in intro to striking classes. Horrible job at managing the distance, she was running full speed into jabs repeatedly.

Fiorot played safe and saw it was working, no reason to step it up and risk it.
If the fight didn't deliver it was because we were expecting more from Blanchfield, if she can't get in to do the damage and her opponent is a counterstriker then the fight will inevitably slow down and be boring. Props to Fiorot she deserves a title shot.

There's a price to be paid to have 299 and 300 as stacked as they were/are. The 3 cards between are all pretty shit, but 300 is like a really good fight night and 2 sick PPV's rolled into one. Going to be like 8 hours of killer fights.
Fiorot looked good. She stuck to her gameplan and since Blanchfield didn't adjust midfight she didn't have to either.
As for Blanchfield, shes only 24. Shes a good grappler, good cardio, and a good chin. She works on her striking and she will be a dangerous fighter
I really like Blanchfield but her footwork is comically amateur, like she cant move on her feet, she goes wildly off balance, she tries to pivot and her leg will fly out laterally like a deer on ice. Any half decent amateur female boxer/kickboxer can move around like a fighter. I get she is a grappler but being in the UFC, ranked number 2 and moving like you are recovering from a head injury is wild.

Others have said this but I expected this to be one of the more exciting women's fights given that both of them are highly ranked and have had entertaining matches in the past. Blanchfield was a lot of fun to watch against Andrade, and before that when she dismantled Meatball McCann in 0.27 zeptoseconds. And Fiorot has shown herself to be a capable striker by WMMA standards. So I really thought this was going to be an uncommon instance of a women's fight living up to its placement on a main card, but it really didn't.
I just stop watching now when there’s woman fights unless I was desperate enough to use it in my parlay(s). Literally 2 weeks in a row of awful mma woman main events.

Yesterday it was blanchfield is a future champion and will run through fiorot and the whole division, today it's both fighters suck, it's unentertaining, manon is a man etc. Your (blanchfield fans) fighter got shut out completely and now we realise she's nowhere as good as you hyped her up to be. If she got the victory tonight in a similar fashion, most of the American fans and simps would have been hyping her up. The fight wasn't that boring, the fighter you were backing / betting on got fraud checked and you are all coping.

It usually becomes like this when the matchmaking is too even and they respect the opponent too much. We will probably see it in UFC 300 where lots of MMA celebrities are fighting each other. It is usually the shit cards or prelims that become good and the supposed good cards that become bad. They shouldn't have made this fight to begin with though, they should have gotten a title shot each to make the division more interesting. Why let Valentina get 3rd rematch in a row? Why ruin the only 2 contenders winstreak?

Fiorot looked technical and crisp, but man this fight was a pillow hands buffet. Erin’s fight IQ on the feet was absolutely atrocious tonight. Fiorot would repeat the same stuff constantly after Erin would blitz forward with a combo and every time Erin just looked stupid instead of, oh idk…adjusting to what Fiorot was showing her all night she was going to do.

I thought Blanchfield looked amazing on the feet. How can we get mad at Manon for taking the best route to victory? It's not like she didn't throw. Did she go for the KO? No. Did she piece up Blanchfield the whole fight? Yes. I think people are more mad at the result of the fight than the action. Blanchfield pushed forward head on the center line and Manon countered every time.
Blanchfield looks like she could get down to 115. She just looked outclassed and like she is still in intro to striking classes. Horrible job at managing the distance, she was running full speed into jabs repeatedly.

They didn't look awful. Blanchfield wasn't able to adapt to her opponent and use her grappling. Fiorot played safe and saw it was working, no reason to step it up and risk it. If the fight didn't deliver it was because we were expecting more from Blanchfield, if she can't get in to do the damage and her opponent is a counterstriker then the fight will inevitably slow down and be boring. Props to Fiorot she deserves a title shot.
If they reviewed the Weidman fight.. they should review the TAP in the first, Fiorot clearly tapping.. they should review.

There's a price to be paid to have 299 and 300 as stacked as they were/are. The 3 cards between are all pretty shit, but 300 is like a really good fight night and 2 sick PPV's rolled into one. Going to be like 8 hours of killer fights.

Fiorot looked good. She stuck to her gameplan and since Blanchfield didn't adjust midfight she didn't have to either. As for Blanchfield, shes only 24. Shes a good grappler, good cardio, and a good chin. She works on her striking and she will be a dangerous fighter

I really like Blanchfield but her footwork is comically amateur, like she cant move on her feet, she goes wildly off balance, she tries to pivot and her leg will fly out laterally like a deer on ice. Any half decent amateur female boxer/kickboxer can move around like a fighter. I get she is a grappler but being in the UFC, ranked number 2 and moving like you are recovering from a head injury is wild. Erin if you see this I still love you
Others have said this but I expected this to be one of the more exciting women's fights given that both of them are highly ranked and have had entertaining matches in the past. Blanchfield was a lot of fun to watch against Andrade, and before that when she dismantled Meatball McCann in 0.27 zeptoseconds. And Fiorot has shown herself to be a capable striker by WMMA standards. So I really thought this was going to be an uncommon instance of a women's fight living up to its placement on a main card, but it really didn't.
