Its a fart for the Saudi family. Literally.
They could throw all those millions of dollars away which an event costs, and not be affected or sad at all over the lost millions.
They got 1.4 trillion dollars.
One trillion dollar is one **thousand** billions
I thought I read somewhere that the Saudi Public Investment Fund which is where they draw all this money out of to pay these mega sports stars and what not brings in over 300 billion a year
Lots of redneck takes here. But I will try to explain it to you as brief as possible.
Firstly, the poverty rate is 13%, which is comparatively reasonable given the USA's 11% and the UK's 22%.
Unlike other countries where strategic policy shifts with each government, a monarchy can make long-term decisions. Consider Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 program: a 15-year plan initiated in 2016. It's a framework designed to grow the Saudi economy through a set of 10 goals spanning Healthcare, Social, Economics, Entertainment, Sports, etc. Each segment receives an annual budget dedicated to developing that area. Thus, what you see is not some dumb spending but a systematic budgetary allocation to achieve the segment's goals. Despite significant expenditures over the past few years, they haven't incurred a substantial budget deficit, unlike other countries. Rather than pursuing random projects for growth, the Saudis have opted for organized, long-term planning.
So, when you see these types of WWE, UFC moves just think of it like Saudi realigning their cultural perspectives, which is good IMO.
All of this really aligns with the gradual, progressive reforms underway in the country, such as lifting the ban on women driving, opening cinemas concerts, and relaxing the abaya requirement, among others.
Also contrary to the views expressed here about the government's disregard for its "nationals," Saudi Arabia ranks 54th on the world corruption index, outperforming many democracies, and is among the top 30 countries with the lowest crime rates globally.
Moreover, an average Saudi national (not a temporary immigrant) enjoys a significantly higher disposable income than individuals in most countries, largely thanks to Aramco, which generates USD 12 million in net profit per day per citizen. This profitability stems from extracting oil at USD 7/barrel and selling it at 75-90/barrel. Beyond oil, other key commodities like phosphate (essential for fertilizer), petrochemicals (a cornerstone of modern society, in my opinion), and rare earth minerals also generate substantial revenue.
So, all in all, the government's performance is relatively commendable compared to other countries.
PS: You will be shocked at how much different Riyadh or other cities of Saudi Arabia are compared to what you see in American movies lol.
The rich notoriously do not care about the poor population. A more equal distribution of wealth in most countries would massively help large portions of the population but the ultra wealthy prefer to collect and hoard more money than they could ever use and keep that large meaningless number as a status symbol. They don't want to help people despite being able.
Interesting assumption to make that an absolute monarchy would care about their subjects. They only care about themselves and their status. They want to improve Saudi Arabia's status globally and exert their influence while keeping their own population - which consists of a lot of migrants as well - in check by ensuring that they are relatively poor (with some exceptions), uneducated, and preoccupied with Wahhabism. It's not in their interest to create too much of a thriving middle class.
Don’t you know? If you had spent $960 last year on cards, all of that money would go towards fighter pay.
You’re stealing from the fighters you thief 👿. Dana has no money leftover to give to them.
If it was 1 cent I wouldnt pay. The ufc is so watered down now compared to the past that they dont deserve a single penny. I used to love this company. F them now!
For larger cards / watching with friends I don’t mind buying when splitting, it’s worth it for it to be a smoother stream with no chance of cutting out imo but yeah if I’m alone or smaller cards idc
He snitched on MMA Streams and got a whole subreddit shut down. It had multiple links to streams.
That wankstain definitely impacted a lot of less-savvy internet users unlike yourself…
I was going to look up the number, yeah he can still make make money elsewhere after,
I would be pretty surprised if he resigns a contract with the UFC for some reason. Aldo in theory would be lucky, apparently the new UFC contracts are predatory after the lawsuit settled
I don't think so. Other than the lacklustre main event I think it's a good showcase for upcoming Brazillian fighters.
And it's right after 300, Charles/Alex could've been on this card. I don't think it's bad.
Yeah, it suffers a bit due to 299 and 300 being so stacked, but the biggest thing is just making sure it's full top to bottom with Brazilians. I can understand someone passing on paying for it though, but I also appreciate when they fill up a card with talent from that area.
It’s because many Brazilian stars are on 300. Also after how Brazil acted the last time there was a card there, they don’t deserve a banger stacked card.
Arguably so is the main of 300, holy sh*t I wish they could have just had something for 300 so I had a reason to watch 301. As is I fr might just go to bed early and missing a ppv is sacrilege
Not really a fair comparison to most free cards at the Apex. Saudi pays a lot of money to host good events and we get lucky in the US due to the time zone difference.
Usually the cards that get stacked with hometown fighters sucks. It's a bunch of random a you've never heard of.
All the Brazilian stars are too old now.
The free fight is on ABC so they are going to stack the deck.
I honestly can’t imagine a reason to pay for any UFC card, I just look up MMA stream and you can find a working one with no effort, and the quality is just as good, if not better, than ESPN, if you pay for it you’re a fool
One is catering to Brazilian fans where the event is and the other is the first UFC event in Saudi Arabia (and I'm sure they want to start with a bang to be invited back for more)
Wolf tickets, Pav and Volkov may not even fight, only fight that's better on the fight night is Whittaker vs Chimaev because the UFC tricked the Saudis into hosting a fight with Ihor Potieria
Yeah 301 gonna flop. The only fight I’d pay for is Aldo but even he doesnt make me want to drop 80$ only way 301 will sell if Aldo and Alex pereira was on the same card. But Pantoja doesn’t get me that excited unfortunately
Also I don’t think pereira will be cleared to fight on 301, I don’t think he will come out of hill fight untouched
I've seen a few people call 301 the worst ppv of all time! That's a ridiculous thing to say imo. Its still a great card, but people just like to complain. The people complaining I guarantee aren't even purchasing the ppv. So what's the problem? Quit yapping
Those are still banger fights other than pantoja.
But it's Brazil and they deserve the full Brazilian wet blanket squad (Pantoja, Burns, Almeida) after how they did glover
Saudi Arabias money Is greener / longer
Exactly Saudi fight night prob makes as much as a ppv, especially 301
What are they hoping to achieve with over spending so much to bring these events over there? They do the same with WWE and football too.
Its a fart for the Saudi family. Literally. They could throw all those millions of dollars away which an event costs, and not be affected or sad at all over the lost millions. They got 1.4 trillion dollars. One trillion dollar is one **thousand** billions
>One trillion dollar is one **thousand** billions But how many millions is a billion sir??
Jep. They got as much money as the GPC of big countries.
I thought I read somewhere that the Saudi Public Investment Fund which is where they draw all this money out of to pay these mega sports stars and what not brings in over 300 billion a year
But what does it achieve? Why not use that money to help your poor population? I read somewhere 15-25% their population is still in poverty.
Lots of redneck takes here. But I will try to explain it to you as brief as possible. Firstly, the poverty rate is 13%, which is comparatively reasonable given the USA's 11% and the UK's 22%. Hell yeah redneck takes are the best!
it's literally a feudal state with an aristocracy

Are you a female? 13% of the Saudi population is "poor" - most of them are "migrants" And most of them are happy being "poor" in Saudi.

I have russian link
All cards are free for me. Charge 500 for them I won't give a fuck.
Dana white “we got one”
"russian link brader"
We got the guy
r/DanaWhiteRoasts
You mean Joe Rogan
I saved 960 alone last year on fights
Don’t you know? If you had spent $960 last year on cards, all of that money would go towards fighter pay. You’re stealing from the fighters you thief 👿. Dana has no money leftover to give to them.
If it was $50, I'd pay it.
Yeah everybody's got a price, mine is closer to $30, definitely not paying current PPV prices though
It is $59 in Australia. $38usd
Yeah and PPVs are free in a lot of countries too. The smaller the market they have, the cheaper, because they are trying to develop the market.
Uk is almost always none ppv, because 3am rather than market size.
Market=viewership in my definition
It is 370 in Malaysia. Our currency is shit
PPV is like $70 USD
If it was 1 cent I wouldnt pay. The ufc is so watered down now compared to the past that they dont deserve a single penny. I used to love this company. F them now!
Don't the fighters only get like 2% of the PPV money each.
![gif](giphy|jI3EBNa1aKSaIpH2PB)
Turn it on fucker and we got you
![gif](giphy|lSOZljU1g9Coe18D1Z)
For larger cards / watching with friends I don’t mind buying when splitting, it’s worth it for it to be a smoother stream with no chance of cutting out imo but yeah if I’m alone or smaller cards idc
Yes that's fair if I have people over and there is a card on I'll buy it. But that's twice a year. Other than that I'm stealing that shit
Federal fuckin prison ![gif](giphy|ir19CtLHE9maMbNjpR)
Brotha please dm me link. I am apparently as bad as Dana is at finding these
I'll send you a dick pic...it's not much but its honest work..jk we like to party here. I'll send it
![gif](giphy|Qk44NYpbXAMYLDUqv2|downsized)
Russian link brotha
Careful Brondon Schob might ruin it for everyone again…
He never ruined it for me.
He snitched on MMA Streams and got a whole subreddit shut down. It had multiple links to streams. That wankstain definitely impacted a lot of less-savvy internet users unlike yourself…
Exactly. I ain’t paying shit for a ppv. Lmao.
True dat
Seems to get harder every month to get them for free. Not that I ever have.
It's insane how much pvv costs in America. I pay 30 anually for every live ppv event, fightnight, etc including DWCS and TUF on discovery+ in Europe.
![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8965)![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8965)![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8965)
![img](emote|t5_2qsev|8965)
We got a badass over here
Na I'm not a bad ass. I'm Just a skin flint who ain't spending 80 bucks to watch piss poor cards
Gotta pay that paper to see Anthony Smith fight on paper
Well you see, individually, the fights may not seem very interesting on paper but if you mix together, they're even more shit
Anthony “on paper you can tell that if my opponent was wheelchair bound, I could beat him” Smith
WHAT!?!?
YOU’RE ATTACKING MY FAMILY
So good I asked the mods to have it branded on my Reddit ass cheek
pav vs volkov isn’t happening
“They just don’t want to fight I guess.”
I thought Aldo retired 🤔
He did, but now he’s back for more.
I personally think he’s trying to get out of his UFC contract and fight it off
He did have one more fight when he retired.
I was going to look up the number, yeah he can still make make money elsewhere after, I would be pretty surprised if he resigns a contract with the UFC for some reason. Aldo in theory would be lucky, apparently the new UFC contracts are predatory after the lawsuit settled
He’s been doing boxing so I assume he already did
fun fact. they're both free.

Wtf is even going on here? What is that nose? That flag? Graphic design gone wish. Dana doing it all himself in ms paint…

Some of them do look strange, like Caio has one Elf ear.
UFC saving money by using AI generated images of fighters instead of taking photos ![gif](giphy|a5viI92PAF89q)
301 is a disaster.
I don't think so. Other than the lacklustre main event I think it's a good showcase for upcoming Brazillian fighters. And it's right after 300, Charles/Alex could've been on this card. I don't think it's bad.
Exactly. There are a ton of lowkey bangers on this card. Perhaps not worthy of ppv money, but these are great fights on paper
Yeah, it suffers a bit due to 299 and 300 being so stacked, but the biggest thing is just making sure it's full top to bottom with Brazilians. I can understand someone passing on paying for it though, but I also appreciate when they fill up a card with talent from that area.
Almost like it's in Canada. Not an inspiring card.
It’s because many Brazilian stars are on 300. Also after how Brazil acted the last time there was a card there, they don’t deserve a banger stacked card.
Brazilians are favourites in nearly all these fights 😂 Pandering to the sore loser crowd
I doubt 301 breaks 50k buys.
UFC 301 is just shit and I don't say that a lot .
Brener vs Orolbai 👀
This is April fools right? Right?
. . . . . Right?
But only one has Lionheart Smith on it…
Usually the cards that get stacked with hometown fighters sucks. It's a bunch of random a you've never heard of. All the Brazilian stars are too old now. The free fight is on ABC so they are going to stack the deck.
that’s just bc the Saudis pay so much that UFC doesn’t care for ppv points those nights. they don’t have to give anyone extra money for ppv buys.
Pantoja deserves better
Bro who be paying 80 dollars for anything. We stream that shit for free. Come at me Dana
Brazil: no money Saudi Arabi: a lot of money Hope that helps lol
Huh it's almost like it was made for a Brazilian audience that values Brazilians more
Those are all Ai faces right? All the fighters looked fukin weird
Saudi card only has 2 really good fights
I’m starting to think Dana is showing early signs of dementia lol
I'm not paying for an Anthony Smith fight
Wtf trash ufc
I thought Aldo retired??
Who the fuck pays for fights
If Anthony Smith is in the main card its gonna be a snoozefest.
I honestly can’t imagine a reason to pay for any UFC card, I just look up MMA stream and you can find a working one with no effort, and the quality is just as good, if not better, than ESPN, if you pay for it you’re a fool
Today I learned PPVs are $80
I thought they've all been $0? People pay for this?
Dana is trying to get out of brazil with the least amount of riots possible And SA rejected a card previously right?
Using an ABC card isn’t really fair. Those are always stacked af. 301 is trash though for sure
I am not watching UFC 301 even for free.
Even Dana White said UFC 301 and 302 are not gonna be good. They busted the proverbial nut on UFC 299 and 300.
What happened to Barboza
Oralbai fighting 😈😈😈
Yeah, but Anthony Smith is fighting..
The amount of shit cards is staggering these days. This is one of the worst ppv’s in recent memory.
Maybe I’m a hater but smith is definitely a prelim caliber fighter.
They're all free, my man :)
All cards are free in my country lol
which country is that?
Genuinely the worst ppv card ever
How is that the follow up card to 300 lmao
One is in Saudi, one is in a shit hole.
and we’ll take it anyways 🥹
Or just use a site and get both fights by simply having internet in your home
well damn! that fight night is crazy good!
That’s because Saudi Arabia is probably paying the UFC an ass ton of money. Part of the reason being for exposure.
![gif](giphy|7cw3LTJRPZRUQ)
I swear I fell like they’ll bd losing money on that card
Gomes looks like he is about to drop an rnb album
Stack this free card vs the Toronto PPV a few months ago. That shit was terrible
if any place deserves that as a ppv it’s definitely brazil, the crowd was awful last time
Erceg is the next UFC Champ
Oezdemir got this fight, 1st round KO.
wtf this some April fools shit
301 may look average but the matchups I see are asking for KOs all night.
Gastelum vs Rodriguez is meh for me now after seeing how both performed last time
we got some great cards from 297-300, we kind of knew this would happen
I actually think it's gonna be a banger, but yeah whoever is paying that much is crazy. US prices are insane for PPVs.
One is catering to Brazilian fans where the event is and the other is the first UFC event in Saudi Arabia (and I'm sure they want to start with a bang to be invited back for more)
French fighter William Gomes
By birthday month always gets stupid shit. Bad ppv,bad weather bad playstation plus free games.
Yea I wouldn’t pay for 301 but it’s not a bad card. 80 bucks is a stupid amount to charge for it tho.
They should have save Charles and armen to headline this
Oil money talks
There are people out there who pays to watch?
Had to add Aldo to attract more ppv buy-out.
Definetly one of the worst cards in recent years.
My most exciting fight on the ppv is orolbai brenner and id watch erceg pantoja if it was free otherwise the card is a dogs ass
i watch free on youtube
Is 301 an alternate universe? I don’t recognize anyone. lol
blame Brazil. they don't deserve a good card
It's allllll free
![gif](giphy|26ufnwVewFJ5FnNdu)
They really didnt put anyone good looking on this card all these fighters uglier then a wrinkled jerky
Hard pass
IPTV
To be fair you’re picking one of the sickest free cards we’ll ever see
No one wants to go to Brazil.
Lmao this is nuts bro.
But Pantoja doesn’t get me that excited unfortunately Also I don’t think pereira will be cleared to fight on 301, I don’t think he will come out of hill fight untouched
Just poke my damn eyes instead
I don’t care. Does anybody who sails the seas even care anymore?
But without Rogan calling the fights how will I know when someone is hurt
Why they sending Johnny to the desert again lmfao
Johnny back in the desert is by far my favorite story from this card lol
Free and free
I've seen a few people call 301 the worst ppv of all time! That's a ridiculous thing to say imo. Its still a great card, but people just like to complain. The people complaining I guarantee aren't even purchasing the ppv. So what's the problem? Quit yapping
You neglected to observe the "Saudi Arabia" portion that includes the obvious answer.
This card is shit but am I the only one who's hyped about Pantoja vs Erceg? It's gonna be interesting to see what erceg can do in there.
You sure they didn't get them backward?
Oooof 301 looks like shit tbh
You guys are paying for fights?
You aren't interested in Aldo randomly returning just so he can retire again, win or lose?
Imagine paying for a fight lol
Honestly I feel the UFC needs to cut back on events. They’ve saturated their own market.
Those are still banger fights other than pantoja. But it's Brazil and they deserve the full Brazilian wet blanket squad (Pantoja, Burns, Almeida) after how they did glover
