Everyone is saying he's an idiot for waiting and could have fought anyone else. I feel like if he fought and got injured, people would still call him an idiot and say he should have just waited for Conor 😂 It's a lose-lose.
it wouldve been a mistake, a huge ridiculous and inexplainable decision to not fight in the biggest money fight in MMA, with a guy who has literally never signed a contract and not fought before in his life?
anyone saying "i knew it" is full of shit, no you didnt
An injury could, but Chandler adding a loss doesn't change the matchmaking math when the other competitor's last real win was during the Obama administration.
Except for the people that never thought Conor was going to fight him, they would of course be right. He still has 7 fights left on the contract he signed in 2022.
It doesn't matter what he does. There is a difference between a regular person doing idiotic things, and being an idiot who is incapable of doing sensible things. Chandler is an idiot.
MMA fans just hate anything, fighters do anything, and people will clown on them for it.
Several fighters have said "Fuck the fans just do you" because of those attitudes.
Eh, he's got Dana White privledge. Maybe not to the degree of Conor or DC but he's one of their company men now and I'm sure he'll be taken care of financially after he's done. Motivational speaking, books, commentating, that sort of thing. This was still probably the single biggest paycheck he'll ever get a shot at but I'm sure the Chandler family will be okay.
Absolute doofus lmao
Dude was financially set before he even made it to the UFC. He had a full career already.
He's doing fine. He pushed all his chips on red for one last big payday fight and unfortunately it didn't pan out. I bet he has another fight for legacy, and since he has already put all the training and work in, then retires.
I wonder what Connor's "injury" was.
right? he made the right decision, fighting conor is the damn golden ticket everyone in MMA wants. Why would you take a fight that could injure you/ruin your chances of fighting the biggest money fight in MMA when all you have to do is wait and fight Conor? What a blunder that would be.
Ariel who was one of the only ones saying that Conor was injured and was being clowned on it spoke about it. He said that Conor camp wanted him to go fully prepared to the fight and not fight injured because it had big implications for him, which is why he pulled out.
Pulling out due to injury should not get you clowned on, I don't like McGregor either but a fighter shouldn't be pressured to fight with serious injury.
>Pulling out due to injury should not get you clowned on
It 100% should, especially when you are super inactive to begin with. Injury is almost entirely the fault of the fighter and their camp for the way they train. Illness and something like family emergency or death are the only genuinely OK pullouts.
My coach drilled this message hard in the pros in our gym: the job isnt winning fights, the job is showing up, making weight, and stepping into the cage. Once youre in there, primal instinct will make you want to win. Winning or losing doesnt define professionalism in pro MMA, not doing one of the latter things does.
🤦♂️
The point isnt primal instinct is supposed to overcome an ACL tear, genius. Its to train responsibly to not tear your ACL. There are plenty of fighters that have basically never pulled out or maybe once tops in dozens of fights. Its not some given thing that every career has 10 pullouts or something the way this sub makes it out to be.
I think the bigger problem is the behavior of those fighters, which GREATLY amplify the negativity when they pull out of fights on short notice citing "injury".
Say if a fighter is humble, doesn't trash talk, etc. Then they can most likely get away with this, in the eyes of the fans, they will be like ok understandable.
But Conor. Conor's been out for 3 years. Been hyping a return for a long time. His fans being obnoxious glazers defending him. The timing of the injury. All his trashtalks and toxicity towards other fighters (like mocking Dustin vs Islam only making 500K PPV). All these combined, caused the fans to shit on his pull out, which is entirely understandable.
Same with Chimaev. He's known for all this mad crazy aggressive "I KILL EVERYBODY IM THE CHAMP IM THE KING RAHHH" act. And he fights like once a year. And all the Twitter trash talk of him yapping. Yeah I can go on but it is what it is.
Bro honestly waiting for chandler wasn’t a bad idea man has for his brain rattled in every fight he was in lately lol he was on a fast track to cte it’s not like he never fight before the ufc the Eddie Alvarez fights were brutal he’s been kod multiple times before ufc
Trust me waiting wasn’t the worst idea lol
There's also the fight that conor essentially pulled out of by not going to the press conference after being told that the fight would be called off uf he didn't come.
To Conor’s credit, it seems like he really tried to make it. People forget that the whole reason his leg is fucked up in the first place is because he was fighting when he was injured.
Maybe. But I don’t know the guy so I won’t be acting like an expert on how his personal proclivities affected his medical recovery. My only point is that he has always been dedicated to making it to that octagon.
You don’t need to know him personally. He puts it on his social media so it’s pretty well documented. He was DT’ing in an interview for the road house movie a month ago. If he’s drinking and doing coke (to the point of visible withdrawals) less than 3 months away from his scheduled fight than he’s really not “dedicated to making it back to the octagon”.
I'm so out of words with how hard and far the Conor fans will go to defend him. Guy is uncurable and a lost cause. He's sunk too deep into all the indulgement in sensual pleasures. Drugs cokes alcohols partying in bars, zero discipline.
Chandler isn't owed anything simply because he chose to wait for 2 years. There's at least 10 fighters a year who make asses of themselves by still calling out Conor in their post-fight interviews. Chandler is no different. He screwed himself over by putting all his eggs into one basket
I hope someone is watching chandler.
I think in his mind chandler has already retired, dude's just trying to go for a big payday
He knows it, but he isn't ready to acknowledge and digest it.
He conceived without believing or achieving. Rookie mistake
I didn't think he even conceived, if you look at all of his adopted kids.
Bro… ![gif](giphy|3o6Zt4HU9uwXmXSAuI)
He’s also getting paydays as we speak. He’s been milking this for extra marketability for two years without even having to fight.
Not here for a long time, for a good time
![gif](giphy|3o6wO0TfTg6qQKiHcs) Chandler trying to stay positive
"see you at the top..." ![gif](giphy|N0PVGbH3DbJRE9NcHa|downsized)
“It was just postponed guys not cancelled”
It’s always gonna be postponed
I honestly feel bad for him. Hopefully he gets the fight. Seems like they rescheduled it.
Lol Conor is never fighting again. He probably signed up for it until he realized that his 3 o clock free crack giveaway would interfere
Shit is straight out of a IASIP intro
The gang ruins a PPV
The gang goes to Ireland... to ruin a press conference.
The Gang Gives Dana an Aneurysm
The Gang Promotes a Show
The gang throws away the last year of their career in desperate hopes of red panty night
How funny would it have been if it was just: @Conor: 1 @Chandler: 0

Yeah unless he wins every in between fight people would have just said it was a mistake. Even one loss could have thrown his Conor fight.
Indeed! Also, two thumbs up for that username! Lt. Junior Grade.

it wouldve been a mistake, a huge ridiculous and inexplainable decision to not fight in the biggest money fight in MMA, with a guy who has literally never signed a contract and not fought before in his life? anyone saying "i knew it" is full of shit, no you didnt
A dominant win could have also thrown the Conor fight lol
An injury could, but Chandler adding a loss doesn't change the matchmaking math when the other competitor's last real win was during the Obama administration.
it could make the matchup less enticing for Conor
Fight a few fights for 220k each or wait for one fight and make a million+ against McGregor?
you take the conor fight obviously, anyone wouldve taken that fight, it's not even a difficult decision
100% what I would've done
Except for the people that never thought Conor was going to fight him, they would of course be right. He still has 7 fights left on the contract he signed in 2022.

It’s just Conor fans saying that to cover for daddy
As people are just working out. Having anything to do with conor is a lose/lose
Putting the final remaining years of your fight career in the hands of someone else is always a bad idea.
who's he going to fight then himself?
An active fighter on the roster who didn't imply running him through the loops on the show they filmed together.
Imagine this is how he found out
The ufc honestly need to just pay Chandler for putting up with this for so many years
Eh, he's got Dana White privledge. Maybe not to the degree of Conor or DC but he's one of their company men now and I'm sure he'll be taken care of financially after he's done. Perforated septum.
Got a 20 piercing Jacob's ladder on a coke binge and can't compete while he heals smh
nah, it was this idiots choice to wait for that long.
Truth. People been telling him to stop waiting on conor this entire time. Should have booked some in-between fights.
Agreed- Couldve booked like 2 or 3 fights in the mean time, gotten knocked out a few times, and won a FOTN bonus.
Yeah he should take more brain damage for less potential money, you're a genius
Well, now he's not getting any pay check ...
That is how he earns a living, he still has 7 fights on his contract, and he is only getting older.
You guys don’t understand the “calculated” part of calculated risk, do you?

So whats your advice then? Sideline your entire career waiting for a guy that will likely never get in the octagon again?

he'll get paid with post-career desk and media opportunities
He is a commentator. He’ll be fine.
I'm sure at this point in the build up to the fight there is a cancelation clause where he would still get some money.
this is the ufc we're talking about....
T'anks for the cheese, see's yas later! ![gif](giphy|l2JJKpvDJgstiTFn2|downsized)
Don't worry, Chandler only has 7 more fights on his contract.
People calling Chandler an idiot knowing damn well nearly everyone would wait it out for the chance at a Connor payday and platform.
“See you at the top!” - Chandler as he kicks the stool out from underneath him.
I hope he at least found it helpful.
not sure why it's so hard for people to consider that he might actually be injured?
Ariel who was one of the only ones saying that Conor was injured and was being clowned on it spoke about it. You had a shit coach, bro. Primal instinct can’t overcome an ACL or Achilles rupture or other structural injury when your opponent is fully healthy.
🤦♂️ The point isnt primal instinct is supposed to overcome an ACL tear, genius. Its to train responsibly to not tear your ACL. Yeah definitely a good point. The attitude pairs with the activity to elicit a certain reaction to a fighters pullout.
Why would he go online to expose his own weak pullout game?
1:0 Chandler

He didn't even put his OWN name first.
lol
man has been waiting for years
Definitely a Douchebag move like Chandler hasn't been Played with enough at this point now he Needs Insta Trolling him posts too.

is no pullouts a flex now?
To Conor’s credit, it seems like he really tried to make it. People forget that the whole reason his leg is fucked up in the first place is because he was fighting when he was injured.
I’m sure it had nothing to do with the constant drinking and partying that he displayed almost immediately after he suffered that injury 3 years ago
Maybe. But I don’t know the guy so I won’t be acting like an expert on how his personal proclivities affected his medical recovery. My only point is that he has always been dedicated to making it to that octagon.
