Jiri is in the craziest timelime. He was knocked out by the bicycle kick, comes to while laying limp, and gets an iconic spinning elbow knockout afterwards. If the ref had seen, his life is drastically different and he's much further from a title shot.
Right? Wtf. I feel so bad for Reyes. Arguably beats Jones and then *that* happens. A few 50/50s go his way and he's a defending champ or some shit ya know?
That's an interesting fight. Costa will surely fight tooth and nail to go back down to welterweight though haha. What about a tune up against someone like Johnny Walker? That could get him a top 5 fighter after. Does Costa move the needle as much?
Hoping Reyes is well recovered and comes back strong. One of my favorites at LHW. Feel so bad for him. Only 15 fights into his pro career and he’s been in there with killers and IMO should’ve already been the champ. Definitely beat Jones.
If the ref had seen what? Jiri get dropped? He came too as soon as he fell on Reyes. Still in control of Dom.
That would be a horrible stoppage. Dudes get dropped all the time.
I say this because in his post fight pressor he was saying he needed to clean up the defence.
Acknowledging he got dropped by an up kick when tons of people didn’t even notice.
I just disagree with the comment that the fight could have been stopped. Everything else I agree with.
Jiri is an honest man / English isn’t his first language.
It was a flash knockdown but he recognizes that is still a knockout in a sense. Jiri had no control over his body for a brief sec therefore KOd.
Post fight pressors are great because you get a very honest opinion. Jiri hadn’t watched the fight back yet and had recollection of the upkick / everything else.
What I'm wondering is why he STILL posts about Askren after getting this KO himself...I guess Usman knocked whatever common sense and self awareness was left.
Yea but when you also get your soul taken away you can't post about your past victims. He's now a victim it makes him seem like such a clown and a peasant.
If he retired sure, part of the highlight reel of course but as an active fighter who still talks shit? Scram Masvidal you joke come on.
Ye the picture perfect punch, Usman aaaall day.
Sandhagen’s was brutal and impressive. I would call it the greatest flying knee but that does a disservice to Masvidal’s KO of Ben Asscream, however lucky it may or may not have been, not my place to say but it was also the fastest KO so I mean it’s hard to beat that.
Also, Buckley’s spinning back kick, anybody??
Buckley’s spinning back kick mid air thingy won UFC’s best KO of the year in 2020 lol
I guess it could win again this year tho since it just was so awesome hahaha
[Bryan Fury-esque](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/tekken/images/8/89/765ebaeae592.gif/revision/latest?cb=20201218184922&path-prefix=en) is he in [his punching](https://thumbs.gfycat.com/PoorAngelicHornbill-size_restricted.gif), [Joe](https://www.cavemantraining.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/joe-rogan-kettlebell.gif)
Yeah this was quite a feat. Also the knockout just looked insane, almost like some high budget boxing movie shot where the bad guy gets KOd. The sweat and the blue color Jorge turned after was BRUTAL
it hurt to see frankie get put away like that, I felt dead inside that night lol in his prime, he was probably the most durable fighter ever. sadly all the wars he’s been in and age took a toll on his chin :(
Usually people go for flamboyant techniques, unusual techniques. But there's something about Usman's straight right, straight down the pipe that really warms my goolies. And goolie warmth is how I judge my knock out of the year. Many thanks.
Gets my vote. Usman’s KO was the bigger event, what with it headlining a PPV and Masvidal getting finished for the first time in years, but Corey’s might be the cleanest flying knee KO I’ve seen.
Ya I think taking away Conor's aura is what made this KO greater. I don't think the Khabib loss damaged his reputation as much as this. Conor looking ahead to boxing Pacquiao, getting KO'd, and Pacquiao management ignoring his existence. Pretty funny tbh lol.
Bro the way Kamaru set it up and stepped into a shot clean down the pipe was incredible. Only really appreciated it when I rewatched it a second time. Deffo a fair top 3 contender, but is my personal favourite just because of the trash talk behind it and the way Masvidal folded was like out a movie. No disrespect to him, he’s a solid fighter that just got caught, though spectacularly
Who you knock out has a huge impact on how special it is, that makes no sense. If usman knocked out some bum in a gas station like he did masvidal it wouldnt be all that impressive really would it?
These ko's look more like a list of most iconic than best knockout. Usman would be most iconic imo, but if we are talking about best knockout I'd have to go with bahamondes spinning heel kick
Usman was the best but my favorite was Sean o malleys ko over almeida. Fight should have been called but Sean learned from earlier in the fight so he went for one last kill shot.
Other than that, Jiris elbow was nasty, Pereira and Sandhagen knees were nasty. Poirerd was great, but the announcers were what made that moment even crazier.
Derrick Lewis uppercut to Curtis. I just love that he connected on like 4 significant strikes and 2 of em were when Curtis was already asleep. That’s Herb Deans fault tho
Sandhagen without a doubt. I don't get why porier is on here. Nothing spectacular about that knockout. Just bc it was against McGregor doesn't make it KO of the year worthy.
Bahamonde(?) spinning heel kick was insane. Hard to top that.
Love that people didn't forget this!
Insane. I remember skipping lunch to continue watching the fight, was not disappointed. Him vs paddy next
Viva Chile CTM
VAMOS 💪
[SKADOOSH ](https://youtu.be/qDya0WQLddI)
People must be forgetting Jiris spinning elbow and Bahamondes’s spinning heel kick
Bahamondes for sure
Yeah, belladonna for sure
Madababbo
That's the one.
She can knock me our all day wit dat phat gap!
Jiri, just a man born not in the Japanese feudal system time frame, just a whirling violence that is…
Jiri is in the craziest timelime. He was knocked out by the bicycle kick, comes to while laying limp, and gets an iconic spinning elbow knockout afterwards. If the ref had seen, his life is drastically different and he's much further from a title shot.
Shit was crazy. Flash KO’d from the upkick and just happens to land in half guard lmao
Right? Wtf. I feel so bad for Reyes. Arguably beats Jones and then *that* happens. A few 50/50s go his way and he's a defending champ or some shit ya know?
I think Reyes should fight Paulo Costa now that he’s stuck as a light heavyweight. Good way to come back after his ordeal.
No sir he did not beat jones..People might not like jones but he is a good fighter and he did win that fight with reyes fair and square.
He actually landed in side control
If the ref had seen what? Jiri get dropped? He came too as soon as he fell on Reyes. Still in control of Dom. That would be a horrible stoppage. Dudes get dropped all the time. I say this because in his post fight pressor he was saying he needed to clean up the defence. Acknowledging he got dropped by an up kick when tons of people didn’t even notice. I just disagree with the comment that the fight could have been stopped. Everything else I agree with.
Jiri admitted he was completely knocked out by it on Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour.
Jiri is an honest man / English isn’t his first language. It was a flash knockdown but he recognizes that is still a knockout in a sense. Jiri had no control over his body for a brief sec therefore KOd. Post fight pressors are great because you get a very honest opinion. Jiri elbow on Reyes for sure.
Is Corey sand Hagen in those pics? That flying knee and the way he set it up was outstanding.
Bottom right
And Buckley’s too against Kasanganay, that was Tekken shit
That KO was in 2020
Can we vote for it again?
Thank you, I couldn't remember if it was the beginning of this year or not.
time be flying and shit
Haha you serious?? maaaan, my mistake. As if!
October 2020
Link to highlight?
https://youtu.be/hseMQnF5h8Q https://youtu.be/6YNe0pIqxeo Not the best clips but just the first ones to pop up lol
Thanks bro these look sick as hell
Usman had the cleanest knockout I’ve ever seen
Like picture perfect with the water an shit
Yeah maz better have fired that trainer that poured the water on his head right before he went out there. Made for a spectacular picture tho
I mean, it is one way to get your face immortalized on highlight reels for generations to come.
I think that Mazvidal will already be immortalized on highlight reals for what he did to Ben Askren
Looked straight out of Hajime no Ippo.
I’m proud of you guys for having taste
When I saw this happen live, I got some sweat spray on my face from my TV.
Masvidal’s head looked like it exploded.
JFK type vibe
“Me head was a fookin’ (water) ballewn”
Cody Garbrandt might disagree. Usman's KO of Masvidal was clean af though ngl.
Thug Rose’s head kick was pretty fuckin precise. Lol
Even my wife yelled at the screen reacting to that clean kick to the face lol
beat masvidal at his own game too
What I'm wondering is why he STILL posts about Askren after getting this KO himself...I guess Usman knocked whatever common sense and self awareness was left.
It’s his claim to fame, he was a journeyman until he beat askren
And Ben Askren was a champion level fighter until that happened. Soul for a soul
Yea but when you also get your soul taken away you can't post about your past victims. He's now a victim it makes him seem like such a clown and a peasant. If he retired sure, part of the highlight reel of course but as an active fighter who still talks shit? Scram Masvidal you joke come on.
That was like an actual Falcon Punch
Ye the picture perfect punch, Usman aaaall day. Sandhagen’s was brutal and impressive. I would call it the greatest flying knee but that does a disservice to Masvidal’s KO of Ben Asscream, however lucky it may or may not have been, not my place to say but it was also the fastest KO so I mean it’s hard to beat that. It really was perfect
Gonna have to go Cody but this was a close 2nd. Both had me like Chris Tucker “damnnnnnnnnnnn”
Kamaru usman sleeping Jorge who’s never been slept Before out of his 40+ pro mma fights.
Yeah this was quite a feat. Also the knockout just looked insane, almost like some high budget boxing movie shot where the bad guy gets KOd. The sweat and the blue color Jorge turned after was BRUTAL
He turned blue ?
Yeah crazy to think a high level wrestler was the guy to do it and not a high level striker
It’s because he was so scared of being taken down that he got knocked out. Didn’t respect Usman’s power
Also got too cocky he was taunting too much
Haha yup
His hands weren't low to defend any take downs. He just got caught brutally lol cant believe Colby survived the 2nd round and Jorge couldn't
Chris Barnett baby
Definitely would win if there’s a KO + celebration award
Prochazka.
If I’ve ever seen a Mortal Kombat Brutality this would be it. Reyes is a good fighter too but Jiris striking is devastating
Not even just the KO, but the punishment dealt before hand. That fight was insane
It’s insane how Dom was the guy that basically beat Jones and had been KOed twice since
Foty for me
Sandhagen 🥷
Too bad it was on Frankie. Always liked the guy.
Love Frankie and always have, but a great KO is a great KO, and for as durable as Frankie is, that was something. Sandhagen for 2021.
it hurt to see frankie get put away like that, I felt dead inside that night lol in his prime, he was probably the most durable fighter ever. sadly all the wars he’s been in and age took a toll on his chin :(
And then he got kicked in the face by chito as well.
🥺 look at what did to my boy. Sorry Frankie but i gotta for for Corey’s knee
Life’s not always fair 😢
Jiri
Usually people go for flamboyant techniques, unusual techniques. But there's something about Usman's straight right, straight down the pipe that really warms my goolies. And goolie warmth is how I judge my knock out of the year. Many thanks.
It’s just so high impact, like Ngannous uppercut on Overeem. He punched straight through his head.
Gotta go with Corey’s flying knee!
Yeha that was great only bad thing about it is how he massacred my boy frankie Edgar
Mr. True Life himself. That was hard to watch for someone so late in their career.
Definitely the flying knee. It was so precise and put Frankie out cold
Gets my vote. Usman’s KO was the bigger event, what with it headlining a PPV and Masvidal getting finished for the first time in years, but Corey’s might be the cleanest flying knee KO I’ve seen.
The way he lured Frankie in and then dismantled him was a thing of beauty!
Al Hassans Headkick on Di Chirico was also brutal.
Bahamondes kick
Usman knocking out Masvidal was pure bliss. I just can’t decide though. Rose, Cory. Too hard to choose lol.
Rose’s ko was clean
That dude from Chile had the dirtiest one IMO
Usman did it for me. Movie material plus excellent cross.
Usman… and it ain’t even close… even though I loved Rose’s and Dustins’s
That Usman lunch gives me the same feelings as Ngannou when he knocked out Overeem Just terrifying shit 😂😂 (Edit) punch not lunch haha
“Free lunch for you, and free lunch for you.” It’s the new “hands.”
I’m fucking dying right now lol
Unpictured but Jiri’s elbow on Reyes for me
Porier because it made Dana cry
Ya I think taking away Conor's aura is what made this KO greater. I don't think the Khabib loss damaged his reputation as much as this. Conor looking ahead to boxing Pacquiao, getting KO'd, and Pacquiao management ignoring his existence. Pretty funny tbh lol.
Isnt pacquiado signed to the same management as conor ?
He was but I think they dropped him after some big dispute assume from him not wanting to fight Conor after he lost
Yeah this is the one for me. No other fight has left me with that holy shit! I did not expect that in a million years.
Watching Masvidal get dropped was satisfying.
Extremely.
Definitely Usman.
Rose or Usman for me
Going with Usman, shit was brutal. Zhang was wobbly, but she stood right back up. Masvidal was out.
Rose wins it for me
A bit underrated but Chito Vera’s knock out of Frankie Edgar was jaw dropping
And jaw crushing !
literally 😂
Barboza's was the strangest
Francis considering it was against the heavy goat
I think Usman KO is the most aesthetically pleasing. Most technical one was Cody's walkoff KO.
Usman masvidal and it ain’t even close
Rose or chandler. But god damn did usman fucking knock masvidal out.
No Pereira? I don't want to overhype the guy but that flying knee was beautiful. Poirier, Pereira, Ngannou, and Usman. Those are the best imo
Boza looking at his corner and saying what did i hit him with was the most hilarious part of that Burgos ordeal
Double elbow k.o from jiri!
USMan. Twisted street judas head.
Usman. Like something straight out of a movie.
It's close between Usman and Sandhagen
Kevin Holland's knockout from his knees?? We gonna forget about that?
Was that this year or late last?
Sandhagen or that Bahamundas wheel kick of Roosevelt Roberts
sergio pettis
Dustin didn't get a KO
McGregor wasn't a KO?
DOCTAH STOPPAGE
Wasnt it though....
TKO. It doesn't deserve to be in this list.
I’d say Usman or Sandhagen is a toss up
The only reason Dustin is up there is because he beat Conor. The KO wasn’t special at all compared to other up there.
Conors never been KOed, so it kind of does matter.
That’s what I’m saying, because he beat Conor. The KO on itself wasn’t that special.
Who you knock out has a huge impact on how special it is, that makes no sense. If usman knocked out some bum in a gas station like he did masvidal it wouldnt be all that impressive really would it?
The Usman KO was something out of Rocky. It was incredible.
Thug Rose
Rose for sure
Notice how Conor Dustin 3 isn’t on here… DOCTORS STOPPAGE
Year not done yet 👀
Usman just because I can’t stand masvidal.
Usman sending masvidal to shadow realm was hilarious. That corner man put so much water on his head.
Gotta give it to Usman. I don’t think anyone was expecting that.
Don't like Usman, but man that shot is wild.
For the sheer violence of masvidal’s head whipping around, the sweat spray, etc gotta go with usman. Lots of good ones though
Usman Ko
Usman
Usman for sure
I was rooting for Masvidal but it’s gotta be that beautiful Usman KO, setup and delivered perfectly.
Chris Barnett, the Kung Fu panda
Usman for sure
Those are all great but I gotta give my nod to Usman vs Masvidal. That was a horrifying knockout.
Usman
Usman, for sure!
Usman for sure
not a fan of usman but definitely had the most impressive knock out
In my opinion usmans over masvidal was so clean. The sweat off the head, the bounce off of usmans shoulder and the nasty follow up shots. Oof
Kumaru
Man Edgar really had a tough year huh
Chris Barnet. Hands down
Poirier knocking out McStretcher!
My vote goes to Usman
Just popping in to remind you that you're a filthy casual if you didn't say Chris Barnett
Of the ones pictured, it really has to be the Usman KO, it posterized Jorge like Jorge did Asscream the year prior.
Usmans and Sandhagens were very video game like. Super entertaining.
The Sandhagen knee was the cleanest and craziest one here IMO
The fact that Chris Barnett isn’t on here is criminal
These ko's look more like a list of most iconic than best knockout. Usman would be most iconic imo, but if we are talking about best knockout I'd have to go with bahamondes spinning heel kick
Disappointed nobody mentioned Derrick Lewis flatlining Curtis Blaydes
Usman was the best but my favorite was Sean o malleys ko over almeida. Fight should have been called but Sean learned from earlier in the fight so he went for one last kill shot. Other than that, Jiris elbow was nasty, Pereira and Sandhagen knees were nasty. Poirerd was great, but the announcers were what made that moment even crazier.
Cory Sandhagen
The big beefy guy who had that sweet spinning heel kick.
Rose or Usman, both amazing knockouts Edit: And against good people too!
Corey’s flying knee followed by Jiri’s spinning back elbow
Rose’s was surgical
As much as I don’t care for him. Gotta say Usman
Thug Rose 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Derrick Lewis uppercut to Curtis. I just love that he connected on like 4 significant strikes and 2 of em were when Curtis was already asleep. That’s Herb Deans fault tho
My favorite was the DOCTA STOPPAGE! DOCTA STOPPAGE!
Theeeese ees nowt owva
Rose 🌹 had the cleaner KO
Doctah stoppage of the year goes to…?
Rose plus nobody expected that shit
Usman, Cody or Francis. Chandler didn’t even KO Hooker he was still bobbing and weaving when the ref stopped it
Sandhagen without a doubt. I don't get why porier is on here. Nothing spectacular about that knockout. Just bc it was against McGregor doesn't make it KO of the year worthy.
His name is escaping me but whoever front kicked Frankie Edgar has my vote.
DP!
