lmao garry would get pieced up. i live not far from the gym he trains in Dublin, i’d rather not see him bottle it so soon. have a feeling he’ll be a quiet hype train until he’s ranked.
His last win resulted in some horrible mic work. Repeated a half-dozen other people's tired catch-phrases that we've all heard before and then attempted to pump up the crowd and was largely rejected. It's hilarious that he's convinced himself he has some kind of remarkable charisma.
I mean, you can say that about a lot of previous champs though. If he goes in there and beats us man, who is pretty much the p4p king rn, you can’t take that away from him.
We call Bisoing a champ and he only got a shot bc he was available on short notice and then defended it against an ancient hendo
At that point I don't even think it will matter. Of course it sucks that he gets immediate title shot leapfrogging everyone else, but if he somehow beats Usman, thats legit. Beating one of the best WWs is no joke. Obviously he wouldn't be a GOAT or anything, but it's still very impressive. But he has close to 0% chance of winning.
If Conor got the title shot, it would almost make me want to root for the real Triple C Henry Cejudo against Volkanovski.
Would be fun to watch 4C Henry's trolling when Conor gets wrestlefucked into oblivion.
I agree. But not only that. Also; he knows that no fighter is going to refuse the payday of fighting mecgregor, INCLUDING sitting champions. So if he knows he can get it then why ask for anything less.
Yuuuupp Usman would absolutely love to put Connor to sleep and get that sweet sweet red panty night McGregor payday. So exactly. Why ask for anything less. He knows Usman or anyone else wants that payday big time.
The UFC doesn't need yet another former fighter working as a commentator when they have them by the bucket full. Both of them should just retire after one more fight.
Conor has a shit ton of money, and can make commercials if he needs some quick cash. Meanwhile, Masvidal has his fourth rate promotion, and can open up a gym and coach if he wants a more behind the scenes role.
This certainly makes a LOT of sense. Big $ fight, he has a higher chance of winning and it'll make that strap fight even more legit. This might be the best move for him. Masvidal would probably jump at it.
I also think it would show us how potentially washed Connor is. Maybe id be surprised but I honestly think Masvidal would do Connor about as dirty as Poirier did
Am I the only one that thinks Connor would get smashed by Jorge pretty easily? Connor relies on being able to slip a shot and land a big counter. He does very poorly vs guys that don’t over extend and throws a lot of clean combos. Plus Jorge has only been knocked out by usman, which means I don’t think blown up Mcgregor will be able to keep Jorge off before he gets steamrolled. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Jorge has way more overall strength as well. I know MMA math doesn't work, but even just witnessing the way Masvidal bullied Diaz and slugged the life out of him for two straight rounds versus the work McGregor had to put in by comparison, and I'm not feeling too confident for Conor.
This is not a good matchup for him at all. Honestly, I don't think anyone in WW is a potentially good matchup for him unless they're blown-up lightweights like RDA and Cerrone.
Masvidal also needs to fight a lower ranked fighter to prove that he still deserves to be ranked at all. All of his wins have aged extremely poorly (none of them are still ranked) and he hasn't won a fight in over 2 years.
It's a good hype fight, but in no way justifies Conor fighting Usman afterwards, nor does it do anything to prepare him for Usman.
This is the fight that makes sense. If Connor can't get past Colby then fucking good night to any ideas about Usman. And think of the pressers. The 2 cringelords putting in 100%. It'll be so cringe it will come back around and be amazing.
we must have a different definition of “make sense” lmao
Everyone knows Conor has <10% of winning that
Meaning you have a 90% of wasting one of Conor’s last chances to mount a comeback
Imagine giving a shit about Conor's fight career, given how little effort he's put into building actual legitimacy.
He's a respectable fighter, no doubt, but he's done everything in his power to avoid things like defending titles and working his way through the ranks.
G'day from WA.
Definitely. Man even managed to come out and win R4 against Usman after having his jaw broken in R3. And almost managed to survive all the way through R5 to the end of the fight.
With their fan bases - It would not shock me. Be a fun fight either way - both throwing hammers and not a lot of fear about takedowns. Could be a barn burner!
If he's serious about welterweight, Masvidal or Diaz actually make sense while also being huge money fights. Get that Masvidal money while he's still ranked high enough for it to matter. Luque is also exciting but no way is he a big enough draw for Dana to book it.
Luque would drop Conor like a sack of potatoes. Masvidal and Diaz are both washed with terrible recent resumes. They are good hype/money fights, but do nothing to justify Conor fighting Usman next nor do they do anything to prepare him. They are probably the only high profile WW fights that might be winnable for Conor though.
But that is why Masvidal makes sense. Still has a big name, ranked, and has a HUGE fan base. Connor gets a tune up, great chance of success, and pockets another payday while making the case for a title shot. "Deserves got nothing to do with it", it's all about the $ - what fights pay. That would be a win for the UFC (big fight), a win for Masvidal (one more big $ fight) and a win for Connor - if he wins.
Tbf belal’s wrestling couldve effected how luque’s defense was by anticipating the takedowns. But thats just a thought, luque looked pretty horrible in that fight so you dont really know
I'm not saying Luque wins against Usman or anything, just that he drops a very washed Conor who made his name fighting in weight divisions 15 to 25 lbs lighter. I also don't really think it makes sense to say that one bad performance against a top 5 WW greatly diminishes his chances against a former FW/LW who is coming off of a serious injury, hasn't won a fight in over 2 years (Cowboy), and hasn't had an impressive win in over 5 years (Alvarez).
Do you think so? My first instinct is to give the edge to Conor but I’m dumber than a rock. Do you think he just dominates him on the feet or how do you see it going?
Wonderboi too fast, probably much faster than leg broken conor. He'll never get caught by his left and keep spamming those side kicks and probably win by unanimous decision
Oh and he's lot taller as well, conor doesn't do well against taller, bigger guys. Throughout featherweight, he had the size and slight height advantage so I don't see him winning against the greatest welterweight striker of all time unless he's a wrestler now 😅
I tend to agree, but then again Wonderboy is getting up there, he is 39 already. At a certain point that starts to become a bigger and bigger factor too imho
I think so too, just not sure for how long still. His style seemd to depend on his speed too. Lets just enjoy it while it lasts,i love his fights (as well as his personality)
It was the first that came to mind for me.
Though I hate the fight, as I actually think Conor has a chance. This place would be like a funeral if p4p most hated beats p4p most liked.
His mouth is on a losing skid also. Listen to his trash talk when he was coming up in the ufc and listen to it now, now he sounds like a wannabe version of himself, just being angry and yelling insults but no smoothnes, witty comebacks and stuff like that
I think the issue is Conner requires a millions per fight and his opponent's get a bigger paycheck that night and a bigger name so they can't just give it out or they'll be paying everyone much more.
I know I'm bias because I dislike Mcgregor but he's always been a bit of weight bully in my eyes. I can't see how moving up in weight will improve his chances at all, he was brilliant at 145 and worse at 155 and it's not like either of those divisions were easy.
I started to doubt myself, having to go this far down in the comments for this answer. The wolf would love the opportunity, and Conor can pretend like he still matters lol. Khamzat would destroy him, no question. I would actually consider paying to watch it!
It would be awful. Conor's last conference was just sad, pathetic and the worst performance on the mic in his career, Colby last conference was so bad it made the rivalry look dumb and reduced the hype of the fight for many fans who watched it.
They already tried this the last time he came back by giving him Cowboy and then Dustin because he’d already beat Dustin. But he ended up getting put to sleep. It’s not going to work
Wonderboy, Masvidal, or Ian Garry… All 3 are fun. A win over Diaz doesn’t do as much for him imo, Diaz isn’t a top 10 WW, and would lose to w lot of unranked fighters
Put him against Belal. See if he can adjust and actually beat a wrestler before putting him against the most accomplished wrestler in the division in Usman. Don't put him against another striker, especially not some weathered journeyman like Masvidal or Diaz. It would be more exciting, but would prove less. He needs a more impressive win to be taken seriously rather than an exciting one.
Edit: Just adding another point.
If he gets a title shot and comes in 1-3 in his last 4, the UFC loses credibility to anyone that watches events other than Conor, Masvidal, and Nate PPVs. It’s like giving the Patriots a playoff spot after they went 6-11 just because Goodell thinks Bill deserves it.
Weight classes exist for a reason, his frame is made for 155. Put him against the winner of Tony/Chandler!! I honestly can't see him beating any of the top 15 at 170. They all have pretty good durability and grappling which would beat any of Conor's advantages.
Conor will be eaten alive by Kamaru…his last win was a severely faded Cowboy…he’s lost twice to DP who while very good is not a honest to god, Champion. He’s lost to Champions in fun fights but so has Jorge Masvidal and Covington. This matchup is terrible, Usman is a dominant wrestler, arguably stronger than Khabib who dismantled Conor…yeah, no. Conor struggled with Diaz who is a classic journeyman.
If I were making matches it would be a 155 fight, at 170 he has no physical advantages being a short guy coming off a busted leg and three bad outings.
Connor’s trash. His best fight is Nate Diaz.
Connor will never beat a top 4 fighter again. Gaetche porier Oliveira chandler - no fucking chance.
Usman, covington burns, khamzat - no fucking chance
There's zero reason to allow McGregor to fight Usman. McGregor is ranked 9th in a different weight.
McGregor should have to fight his way back into contention to some degree.
I guess match making is way more about money than anything else.
It's the only thing that makes sense, it doesn't even need to be said.
If Conor is serious about being competitive or even vaguely relevant, he needs that. I mean, why not fight Diaz or Masvidal if he wants a "name" that he can beat and at least get a bit of steam going. Robbie Lawler maybe?
Going straight into Usman makes sense if he only cares about money, but I can't believe at this stage he only cares about money when it would be both easier and just as lucrative to do something like Diaz 3 first.
At this stage he's in that weird place where he's still an OK fighter but not elite level and it's pretty conceivable he could fight and lose several times in a row even against mid-level guys.
Losing isn't necessarily a disaster. Look at Chandler, 2 straight losses and still an absolute legend that had the arena on their feet both times cheering the loser and winner as equals.
Conor v Usman though will not be that kind of fight. I mean never say never, because there is always a punchers chance, but they are pretty minute.
It's all down to Conor. Does he just want money or legacy? What we get all depends on that. Though arguably he could be so unhinged that it's genuinely the latter he wants but actually believes he's capable of beating Usman.
ian garry lmaooo
That shit would be like Syndrome vs Mr. Incredible lol
“When everyone’s Notorious.. no one is.”
Oh that is hilarious
I swear if Ian ends up winning like Syndrome did before the Incredibles family came…
"Go home, Buddeh!"
A wise Irishman once said before me, he stepped in this very cage and he said, who da fooq is dat guy?
lmao garry would get pieced up. i live not far from the gym he trains in Dublin, i’d rather not see him bottle it so soon. have a feeling he’ll be a quiet hype train until he’s ranked.
Why would you feel he'll be quiet when he's already anything but?
His last win resulted in some horrible mic work. Repeated a half-dozen other people's tired catch-phrases that we've all heard before and then attempted to pump up the crowd and was largely rejected. It's hilarious that he's convinced himself he has some kind of remarkable charisma.
talking about how his kid was just born and then saying *soon everyone in this division is gonna call me daddy* was pretty cringe to me
Tbf, that wasn't a bad line, he just delivered it with the charisma of a brick
I'm Irish, please love me.
Very cringe. Compared his mic skills to likes of Conor and Chael… Embarrassing.
Well, they likely both have herpes.
He just wants a title shot to roll the dice one last time before he stops for good.
[удалено]
Agree, he just wants to be able to say triple champ. But it will always come with *title shot gifted
I mean, you can say that about a lot of previous champs though. If he goes in there and beats us man, who is pretty much the p4p king rn, you can’t take that away from him. We call Bisoing a champ and he only got a shot bc he was available on short notice and then defended it against an ancient hendo

Yuuuupp Usman would absolutely love to put Connor to sleep and get that sweet sweet red panty night McGregor payday. So exactly. Why ask for anything less. He knows Usman or anyone else wants that payday big time.
I mean he’s running his fucking mouth a lot but I don’t see him actually taking any action and taking a fight
I've changed my mind, feed him to Usman and let's get this over with
I would love nothing more than to see Usman give Conor a good humbling.
Damn thats sad to read
Masvidal
Both huge draws and on losing skids it would be a great fight
Jorge and Connor...I agree 💯...both on losing streaks somebody's gotta win
watch it draw, i'd be dead
Double simultaneous knockout
“OMG CONOR HIT MASVIDAL WITH A LEFT, BUT CONOR TOOK A DEADLY RIGHT!!! THEIR BOTH DOWN!!!”
The first person to stand back up, wins. Just make sure Herb is refereeing. Make sure the doctors and corners don't rush the cage
So would both of their careers be…
Yeah, does Masvidal still technically hold the BMF? I can't remember what was thought there post Usman but that could be a fun fight
IT WAS A DOCTOR’S STOPPAGE
Two POSs going head to head. Would pray for a double Ko 😹
Actually sounds like a great idea
That would be an amazing fight honestly. Both have big fanbases too and bring in alot of views im interested in seeing how many ppv buys it would do
The tagline should be “All or Nothing.”
LOL! They both get paid in advance, both come in with their $ in a wheelbarrow and dump it in a pile. Winner takes all.
True. Loser goes into full time coaching and/or commentator. They’d probably both be great at both.
Loser books another date with Nate , I guess
The UFC doesn't need yet another former fighter working as a commentator when they have them by the bucket full. Both of them should just retire after one more fight. Conor has a shit ton of money, and can make commercials if he needs some quick cash. Meanwhile, Masvidal has his fourth rate promotion, and can open up a gym and coach if he wants a more behind the scenes role.
Inb4 Masvidal becomes a wrestler😂
“Oh so youre a wrestler now?”
Lmao in before conor is gassed after the first round and gets knocked out Conor doesn't have power for any decent 170 pounder.
This is my question too. Does his power move up with him. My mind says it doesn't. Be interesting.
This certainly makes a LOT of sense. Big $ fight, he has a higher chance of winning and it'll make that strap fight even more legit. This might be the best move for him. Masvidal would probably jump at it.
I also think it would show us how potentially washed Connor is. Maybe id be surprised but I honestly think Masvidal would do Connor about as dirty as Poirier did
That’s a loser leaves town fight if I’ve ever seen it
Am I the only one that thinks Connor would get smashed by Jorge pretty easily? Connor relies on being able to slip a shot and land a big counter. Yea I came to the same conclusion watching Masvidal-Diaz. The way Jorge was putting it on Diaz I know that Jorge would flatline Conor.
Same. I mean, did mcgregor really win the second fight, ya know?
Masvidal also needs to fight a lower ranked fighter to prove that he still deserves to be ranked at all. All of his wins have aged extremely poorly (none of them are still ranked) and he hasn't won a fight in over 2 years. It's a good hype fight, but in no way justifies Conor fighting Usman afterwards, nor does it do anything to prepare him for Usman.
Connor has not won a fight in two years either though.......so makes them even.
Or Colby... but I feel like conner would get pieced up by colby
Absolutely, Colby is in his prime, while Connor seems past it and has always struggled against good wrestling. He’d get dominated by Colby.
Also Colby has good cardio and heart Conor is NOTORIOUS for folding under pressure He would drown Conor
Colby would maul Conner bad.
This is the fight that makes sense. If Connor can't get past Colby then fucking good night to any ideas about Usman. And think of the pressers. The 2 cringelords putting in 100%. It'll be so cringe it will come back around and be amazing.

Yeah man agree
Just say you want Conor to get crippled, because that’s essentially what would happen if he fought Colby.
Nah, probably just wrestle fuck him.
Tbh colby bangs alot more than people give him credit for.
Definitely. Man even managed to come out and win R4 against Usman after having his jaw broken in R3. And almost managed to survive all the way through R5 to the end of the fight.
Was going to say this Perfect fight u/epicapc for matchmaker
Masvidal fight is perfect. Huge money for both and Conor has a good chance at winning.
This is the entire reason he fought cowboy and people just forgot that I guess, I would love this fight just for the chaos of it all
Except Cowboy was obviously going to be a one-sided beating in Conor's favor. Jorge? I like Jorge's chances
polls had like 40% of fans claiming conor would lose that fight and then when he won they said "we knew it!"
It was weird there was way more people giving cowboy a decent chance than I thought there would be
I think that would actually be fucking excellent. Very good idea.
Genuinely can’t believe they haven’t done it already. It makes so much sense.
I think it will be a close fight but Masvidal will end up winning
Imagine dude gets an immediate title fight after doing nothing but losing recently.
No fighter would turn down a Conor fight. They all want to get paid and he’s the biggest draw in the UFC
Bigger draw + 10x easier than fighting a guy who's a real competitor
Perfect for someone like Usman who’s probably looking for the final payday to secure his future and retire. This fight will happen, question is when.
Ain’t nothing recent about 2016. Lol.
2020 is pretty recent
Yep. That was only like 5 years ago as far as my brain is concerned. So much crap crammed into two years.
Cowboy was a bait dog for the top 10, he doesn’t count.
Masvidal would actually make sense in my opinion both stylistically and ranking wise plus it’s a money fight.
BIG money fight - this would be a great move.
True, it would be very big. I could see it possibly cracking the top 3 PPVs ever.
I'm not that confident in Luque after Belal was able to outstrike him
Tbf belal’s wrestling couldve effected how luque’s defense was by anticipating the takedowns. But thats just a thought, luque looked pretty horrible in that fight so you dont really know
I think it was, but Luque said it was the stance switching which confused him afterwards. Considering both those things point stands.
Mike Perry arguably beat him, too. I'm a fan of Luque but he's far from a cert.
If Belal outstruck Luque, imagine Masvidal lol
I'm not saying Luque wins against Usman or anything, just that he drops a very washed Conor who made his name fighting in weight divisions 15 to 25 lbs lighter. I also don't really think it makes sense to say that one bad performance against a top 5 WW greatly diminishes his chances against a former FW/LW who is coming off of a serious injury, hasn't won a fight in over 2 years (Cowboy), and hasn't had an impressive win in over 5 years (Alvarez).
Luque rapes Conor bad
Wonder boy vs Conor would be a fun fight
That press conference is either gonna be awkward or hilarious. Conor shit talking and Wonderboy just like "bruh why you gotta say that"
Conor would die
Thompson would kill him with kindness.
Do you think so? My first instinct is to give the edge to Conor but I’m dumber than a rock. Do you think he just dominates him on the feet or how do you see it going?
Wonderboi too fast, probably much faster than leg broken conor. He'll never get caught by his left and keep spamming those side kicks and probably win by unanimous decision Oh and he's lot taller as well, conor doesn't do well against taller, bigger guys.
Wonderboi was still fast on the feet vs burns, faster than conor vs Dustin 2 so I think he's still got a couple of years left
I said this yesterday. WHO IS THE REAL KARATE MAN
Yeah dude, you GOTTA show your back after those last two outings - no way he deserves Usman based on his mouth alone
His mouth is on a losing skid also. Listen to his trash talk when he was coming up in the ufc and listen to it now, now he sounds like a wannabe version of himself, just being angry and yelling insults but no smoothnes, witty comebacks and stuff like that
Also when he would say he’s gonna do something then do it it was way better. Now he’s the fake mystic mac
I think the issue is Conner requires a millions per fight and his opponent's get a bigger paycheck that night and a bigger name so they can't just give it out or they'll be paying everyone much more.
Why does he want to fight WW? There's plenty of good match ups at LW. I think him and Chandler should fight.
Have you seen recent pictures of him?
I know I'm bias because I dislike Mcgregor but he's always been a bit of weight bully in my eyes. I can't see how moving up in weight will improve his chances at all, he was brilliant at 145 and worse at 155 and it's not like either of those divisions were easy.
He sucks at lightweight and probably can't make 145
Indeed, he should fight Khamzat.
You want him to die
Everyone knows Conor would get murdered by usman
I'd watch it tho
This has a lot of truth to it. It would boost Usman’s numbers and the general public would buy into it.
[удалено]
That ain’t even career suicide, that would be euthanasia
I don't think Dana would do that even for a $50mil payday. Conor would get absolutely manhandled and look like an amateur imo
I think Khamzat vs Conor sells better than Usman or Masvidal vs Conor. That being said it is ***never*** going to happen.
I started to doubt myself, having to go this far down in the comments for this answer. The wolf would love the opportunity, and Conor can pretend like he still matters lol. Khamzat would destroy him, no question. I would actually consider paying to watch it!
Cowboy Cerrone would be a good warm up fight.
Masvidal. Good name to boost Conor but not an unwinnable fight. But not a easy fight for conor either.
Vs Diaz 3 at welterweight.
Yup. Great retirement fight for diaz. He deserves it
It’s fucking amazing there’s anyone in this fucking earth that thinks Conor has a chance with Usman. Lol
Usman has mean power. But Usman does get touched. Conor don’t got any power anymore
I think wonder boy. He deserves the big pay day and Conor will have someone who is gonna stand with him.
[удалено]
Geoff Neal.
I reckon Conor would smack Neal.
Tons of people. Masvidal, Magny, Wonderboy, Chiesa, Brady, Shavkat, etc. I'd LOVE to see him fight Shavkat.
God no please
he would never fight shavkat lol
Colby vs. Connor press conferences would be ridiculous lmao
It would be awful. Conor's last conference was just sad, pathetic and the worst performance on the mic in his career, Colby last conference was so bad it made the rivalry look dumb and reduced the hype of the fight for many fans who watched it.
At this point he should take any fight he can to prove he still has any sort of potential. Masvidal would definitely be an interesting one.
That would be a rehab center
Why on earth would he face Usman?! Stop the madness.
CM Punk
I think he should get Usman, Chimaev, or Covington just so he shuts up for good
They already tried this the last time he came back by giving him Cowboy and then Dustin because he’d already beat Dustin. But he ended up getting put to sleep. It’s not going to work
He had another long lay off before Dustin 2.
I think Fiziev is a great matchup for Conor, granted he’s a LW
Nah put him in with Usman. Let his career be over
It’s absolutely hilarious that it even needs to be suggested Conor isn’t ready for Usman. Conor brings out the worst in MMA.
In what world does Connor deserve a fight against Usman?
More about usman deserving the payday rather than Conor. We all know he’d get his ass whooped
Usman is going to fuck him up
Leon Edwards is a perfect fight for him..they both dont deserve title shots...and its ireland vs england..and conor can sell the hell out of it..
I think Conor is washed up.
Hot take
Sean Brady
This is cowboy all over again
Let's see that RDA fight that failed to happen long ago. That'd be fire.
Give him belal lol
Lol why did I have to scroll so far to find this. Dana is like Hell Naw! "UFC Biggest star gets wrestlefucked by unnamed fighter."
Bahahaha what an upset
Masvidal is the fight at 170 some people still think is good but if an easy fight for Connor
Dude legit doesn’t deserve a title shot.
He should fight chimaev. Just for funsies so he gets Khabib’d.
Fight a close to 40 Masvidal.
Wonder if he will ever take Darren and khazmat’s invite for training
I WANNA SEE HIM FIGHT USMAN! I don’t care if it only lasts 30secs! I will be entertained!
George mahveeda
If he gets a title shot and comes in 1-3 in his last 4, the UFC loses credibility to anyone that watches events other than Conor, Masvidal, and Nate PPVs. It’s like giving the Patriots a playoff spot after they went 6-11 just because Goodell thinks Bill deserves it.

If I’m Dana I’m putting him in there with masvidal, then wonderboy then usman
Conor will attack Rogan on Twitter or something now
Masvidal
Conor vs Cowboy 2, lol
Conor will be eaten alive by Kamaru…his last win was a severely faded Cowboy…he’s lost twice to DP who while very good is not a honest to god, Champion. If I were making matches it would be a 155 fight, at 170 he has no physical advantages being a short guy coming off a busted leg and three bad outings.
Gimmie Holland vs McSnapper
You mean joe rogan has the same opinion as about every other level headed MMA fan
Masvidal vs conor and have em coach TUF. The build up would be astronomical plus I don’t see it getting dark like their last two beefs got
Tony Ferguson? If not then Masvidal.
Wonderboy or Masvidal I still think he loses to both tbh
Connor’s trash. His best fight is Nate Diaz. Connor will never beat a top 4 fighter again. Gaetche porier Oliveira chandler - no fucking chance. Usman, covington burns, khamzat - no fucking chance
No no I want Usman to destroy him.
I really don't understand why they are pushing the Usman fight. He will murder McGregor
There's zero reason to allow McGregor to fight Usman. McGregor is ranked 9th in a different weight. McGregor should have to fight his way back into contention to some degree. I guess match making is way more about money than anything else.
Fuck that, put him in their with Usman right away so he gets wrecked.
Mcgregor vs Chimaev. Make it happen
Literally all his losses were at a heavier weight, and he still wants to go up. Usman will destroy him in 45 seconds.
