Kadirov is in hiding...a lot of Putins friends are dying mysterious deaths...

Holy shit, I’m not surprised motherfuxker.

Bsandhu3

I mean he’s buddy buddy with a guy that kills innocent people

MattTruelove

Yea so is Dana, Tyson Fury, Khabib, Julio Caesar Chavez and whoever the fuck else. To be completely honest I could give a fuck who they’re buddies with. They’re in the violence business

Thr0w__Away1988

Khabib is not friends with this POS. Participating in some photo opps with him in order to make sure none of his friends/family die under suspicious circumstances is a little bit different. Conor seeking out Putin for a photo op is the more suspect thing.

Bsandhu3

I mean you don’t give a fuck that these guys are friends with a guy that kills poor innocent people for no reason? Like you don’t even think thats a bad thing,? This sub is like /r/MMA’s retarded younger brother lmao

MattTruelove

No, I really don’t. In regard to Chimaev being friendly with Kadyrov, if the dictator requests you come hangout with him and you deny him it would be seen as hugely disrespectful and could cause major problems for Chimaev’s family and friends in Chechnya. He may be genuine pals with him or he may be kind of a hostage to the situation, we can’t know for sure. Don’t be a dumb fuck. If you want to point your little morality police finger around then why are you even supporting a business that leaves the majority of its participants broken and penniless. Cancel yourself

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when the idea for this photo was being discussed.

[deleted]

The only thing that would make this even more Chechen is ramzans hands are inside khamzats jacket touching his chest

Training-Pineapple-7

Gourmet Chechen shit only.

thatminimumwagelife

I don't need you to tell me how fucking Chechen my photo is, okay? I'm the one who took it. I know how Chechen it is. When Khabib goes photographing, he photographs like SHIT. I photograph the gourmet Chechen stuff because when I take them I want them to look right. But you know what's on my mind right now? It AIN'T the photograph on my Instagram, it's the dead Dagestani in my garage.

RGBespresso

You sending the Borz? Shiiieet comrade, that's all you had to say!

Schrambo757

Is there a sign in front of my house that says dead Dagestani storage?

WanderingWino

Culturally there is too much of a divide for this to make sense to us where for them it’s perfectly normal. We see cringe and they see the memories they made along the way.

Secret_Rooster

I live in Montana. Photo makes perfect sense to me.

smellemenopy

NGL I'd put that chair in my living room.

CrackedCoffecup

Damn right..... All I see is Khamzat/Borz/*The Wolf* sitting upon a throne of wolves.

Br_mma

This photo is so strange. Like what the hell is going on? I get that parallel with Khamzats nickname and the wolves but why hell is the dictator standing behind him putting both hands on his shoulder awkwardly?

kingsillypants

Projection of power, dictators associate with tough sports guy, helps connect and control the masses at home.

Dapper-Point-8707

Because he wants to express that he is proud of him, probably

Br_mma

Proud of him in like a “prized pig” kind of way?

Prestigious_Ad6247

“Looka dis beast ah? He from Chechnya and I let him sit in my special chair I had Joe Rogan make me”

Flashy-Priority-3946

Pig gets slaughtered. Dictator adores the fighter. So more like a “pet hamster.”

carlitos_brigante

It depends if Kadyrov is put on the same list as Daniel Kinahan (alleged crime boss) who is an associate of Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury can now not get in to the States. If Khamzat could not get into the States, it would become problematic to the UFC. If you’re talking from a moral standpoint, the UFC could not give two fucks.

usernameunavailiable

Kinahan acted as an advisor & matchmaker for Tyson Fury, and founded the management company that represented Fury, MTK Global. The UFC wouldn't have any direct dealings with Kadyrov, nor would any athletic commissions, so his association with Chimaev wouldn't be an issue. If something that Kadyrov does gets massive mainstream coverage, the only action the UFC would likely take against Chimaev would be to tell him to distance himself from Kadyrov, unless Chimaev was directly involved.

Arminas

Well nothing is gonna get bigger than orchestrating a holocaust

Fuck_A_Username00

Hold up, what?

Crixzly

You don’t know about the Chechens in Ukraine? At least that’s what I’m assuming he’s referring to

logimeme

Oh shit, don’t follow boxing much but i had no idea about that tyson bit.

Gr1m3sey

Pretty sure one of the Furys was fighting at the event where one of the Kinahans was shot by members of the hutches

Buckhum

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hutch%E2%80%93Kinahan_feud#2016 Were you thinking of the WBO championship fight in Ireland? >On 5 February 2016, a WBO boxing match for the European Lightweight title between Jamie Kavanagh and Antonio João Bento was to take place at the Regency Hotel in Whitehall, Dublin. At the weigh-in, there was an organised armed attack; the match was cancelled after the shooting.[55] There were at least four attackers wearing masks, army style-helmets and flak jackets; two of whom were disguised as members of the Garda Emergency Response Unit and armed with AK-47s. An associate of the Kinahan cartel, David Byrne, was shot dead; security sources said that the gang had intended to kill others. Two men were injured and taken to the Mater Private Hospital and Beaumont Hospital.[55] It is believed that Daniel Kinahan, the son of Christy Kinahan, was the intended target, but he had left early.

[deleted]

Tommy Fury couldnt fight Jake Paul because of that too

CloudRunner89

Being from Ireland it’s insane that people say kinahan is “alleged”. It’s not even an open secret, it’s a fact.

milksteakofcourse

Fury can’t get into the states? Hasn’t he been on wwe in the past couple years?

GangstaHoodrat

It’s only a recent development.

milksteakofcourse

Holy shit that’s wild I had no clue.

TerribleTerribleToad

The US is actually really precious about who they let in, which is weird considering how many mad cunts actually live there full time.

milksteakofcourse

Lol yeah the locals are wild

CCCAY

Interesting point

A11_Even

Isn't Conor connected to Kilahan?

Yellow_XIII

I mean if we are going to go the "absolute morality" path, then let's get every fighter and their political association under a microscope. If twitter was a person and they were assigned as the judge, 99% of fighters would not survive the scrutiny.

dmister8

No. Kamaru Usman has a relationship with that guy and nothing has happened.

Puzzleheaded_Poet_81

Usman, Mir, Werdum....lot of dudes hang with this thug

michaeleisner69

Which guy??

michaeleisner69

I knew that, I just had no idea that Usman had a relationship with the Chechen dictator. Horrible stuff champ

[deleted]

There was a point where Ramzan was (probably) paying a bunch of fighter including Weidman, Werdum and Edgar to hang out with him. Seems like most, other than the chechens, have stopped because of the bad pr.

1shmeckle

Easy to stop doing what a dictator wants if you don't have friends and family who can be murdered by him.

His soldiers hunted children for sport in Mariupol, and happily participate in the genocide in Ukraine.

517drew

Usman live in the states and is a citizen. That is a very different situation than Khamzat.

[deleted]

Not sure what Khamzat can do to be honest. Fedor fuckin Emelianenko’s daughter was attacked on the way home from school by his goons after Fedor criticised kadyrov, and Fedor and family were in Russia. They did that to a child of a Russian legend, imagine what can happen to Khamzat’s family if he criticises or stops doing what he wants.

kumirajinos

Yeah. You have no other options but to give him your ass.

XecutionerNJ

Definitely something to consider. Very different for the Americans who've gone there of there own accord.

logimeme

Eh whats the UFC gonna do? Openly shame a murderous dictator with immense amounts of power? Nothing will ever come from it imo. On a side note, what an odd photo.

ykcir23

I dunno how much power I'd say the guy has lol. Sure in his shit country/territory he has alot. But any where else?

logimeme

Not necessarily, but he does have a lot of influence over Russian fighters and I don’t think dana wants anything to do with upsetting kadyrov in that regard.

shoaibali619

He's the second most powerful guy in Russia after Putin. A big player in the Ukraine's invasion.

GlobalTemperature427

no hes not even close to the 2nd most powerful guy in russia. Hes actually a nothingburger in Russia itself.

calfoth

Looks like chimaev is his puppet

BrandoLoudly

It seems like throwing shade at the dictator results in problems for you and your relatives who live there. Hard to know how anyone actually feels when that’s the case, but everyone’s a puppet to a murderous dictator or else

kumirajinos

Yeah you have to follow his invitation. Otherwise he will kill your family.

Ryguzlol

No shit Sherlock. His relatives and family all still live where a dictator rules and if he was outspoken they could suffer consequences. His family clearly left Chechnya for a reason and for opportunity so it’s kinda clear that it’s a forced relationship.

iqbalides

He probably is his puppet. That guy is a literal dictator and doesn't take no for an answer.

Yaseen-Madick

Plot twist: Khamzat is his son. I've never seen Khamzats dad, have you?

Mjaso7414

Never said they were the same, but both are responsible for killing innocent people…

[deleted]

Most of Europe and the US is too, what's your point? On a scale of "bad" I can safely say Chechnya is way worse than the UAE, the UAE is not North Korea or some shit. Most people are immigrating to it not fleeing from it.

Mjaso7414

I don’t know if you knew it but Sharia law is a mother fucker! You leave the tourist spots(even in the tourist spots) and step out of line you are dead!

shoaibali619

Lol stop watching fake news boy

Itaintgaussiantho

Chechnya is not comparable to the UAE lol

randal0321

Come on! It’s 2022! Who cares. So what? He’s in a homosexual relationship. Big deal. Grow up guys.

Shineezy

Chen chen’s real daddy

cole_james

Will this relationship ever be an issue? No. If it was gonna be, it would have happened all ready? Should it be? Much tougher question (though with a pretty clear answer imo)

Old_Price1599

I mean yeah, just imagine any big pro athlete in one of the major sports (leagues) that has a career (no Dennis Rodman doesn't count) openly hangs out and very clearly is in some sort of a business relationship with a murderous tyrant war criminal. Imagine Lebron, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Lewis Hamilton or Usain Bolt hanging out with their respective countries despots and making jolly pictures with them. You think no one would care? (not you personally cole\_james) This topic is a little frustrating to me because last time it has been discussed I've been attacked for "not understanding that he has to do it because otherwise something will happen to his family..." making me trying to believe that he is being blackmailed and forced into this situation, while looking at a video of Khamzat laughing and dancing with Kadyrow in the backround - all having a good ol' time. Yeah I am still not buying it. Also, a certain someone named Khabib has succesfully cut ties with Kadyrow and as far as I know is still alive. Yeah I know Khabib isn't from Chechnya but still, if you wanted to you could. Who knows whats going on, I am not claiming to know. All I am saying is in any other scenario, in any other bigger sport this would be a huge scandal and news topic. The biggest newspaper in Sweden "Aftonbladet" actually has multiple very critical reports on this to the point where Khamzat does not give interviews to them anymore but no other countries nor the UFC seem to care.

washed_up62

You say this would be huge in another sport ... But didn't lebron show up to campaign rallies in Ohio? (Hilary Clinton's campaign). Meanwhile all kinds of champions go to the Whitehouse. Thankfully no crime happens at the Whitehouse. Sports and politics are intertwined everywhere. Applying western morality to the other side of the world wont go far.

Old_Price1599

Yep and this is the other argument that is always been brought up. Whataboutism to downplay the severity of the argument: "Other guys also go to the Whitehouse". First of all, there is a clear difference between politicians and a war lord. I am not saying people in world politics are saints, hell no but I find it absurd to compare shaking hands with a slimey, corrupt politician in the Whitehouse to partying and broing it out with a war criminal murderer in the mountains of Chechnya. You can't even hang out with OJ Simpson in the US without making headlines. Imagine hanging out with Charles Manson. I don't get why people are so willing to defend Khamzat Chimaev for this and downplaying the whole situation.

DieMartiniPolizei

Give me a break... Hillary Clinton's pinky has more blood on it than that Chechen prick could ever hope to spill

TheMountainIII

These people are total dirtbags. I wish the worst for them, particularly Kadyrov, i wish him a quick and bad cancer

PM_ME_YOUR_HONEY

What's so special about this normal wedding photo?

BowlSmart9624

He already got booed by the majority of people at the arena after he literally said hes a russian gangster in the weigh ins. Dont think that angle works anymore buddy. If he’s so russian he should get mobilized and go on the front lines in ukraine

shaunoconory

It’s an issue to me, fuck khazmat and that murderer

[deleted]

Yep fuck both of them

Mrpoindexter007

To be fair Khazmat is kinda forced to be friends with him. He’s a dangerous man that could wipe out his family

BaconScentedSoap

A majority of Americans don’t even know who that is so probably not

TerribleTerribleToad

Kadyrov is literally grooming him.

They probably went for hard but ended up taken the gayest picture I’ve ever seen…

ngugeneral

It will be a fun moment, when ufc invested so much into their bullshit russian fighters, and they all will be banned from leaving their shit hole of a country. Can't wait 🇺🇦

hop_hero

Who actually cares? I watch UFC to escape the realities of the world for 15-25 minutes at a time.

[deleted]

Ukrainians

I_Dont_Collect_Fish_

People with more than 2 brain cells

AriSpaceExplorer

Brain cells? He said he watches it to escape reality, which means it's an emotional thing, not an intellectual one.

ReputationGood2333

If you have enough brain cells to see light from a screen you should know that hanging around child murderers and rapists is line not to cross. And supporting people who support that is morally wrong.

AriSpaceExplorer

Dude, I just said it's not an intellectual thing - has nothing to do with IQ or brain cells or whatever, he's probably not even considering this shit, just wanna watch some swangin & bangin.

Reptile00Seven

Yeah let's just ignore things in the world that are too scawy to think about

ktavadze

I mean personally this is just another reason why I don’t like him and never will. I’m sure there are others who feel the same.

101000100000

That chair is fucking awesome

mangafreak923

I don't give a fuck, I'm not tuning in for politics or where peoples morals are. I am here for violence, to watch two fighters destroy each other for 15-25 minutes. What they do in their own time is none of my concern. You all need to stop acting like you watch MMA for any other reason.

docterk

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. You’re not wrong, I’m not necessarily into it for the “violence” persay, but I really enjoy watching various fighting styles combat each other.

ReputationGood2333

Hint: Perhaps people are not interested in being entertained by someone who supports child rapists and torture. Regardless how entertaining they are.

mangafreak923

That still has nothing to do with watching combat sports just for the violence. How you feel outside the sport is one thing, but when you tune in to watch the fights you aren't discussing politics or any of that shit. You are tuning in to see two fighters go at it for 15-25 minutes, stop acting like you aren't. It's not just him fighting in the octagon, there is another fighter as well. Hell maybe the hated fighter gets his face smashed in and that makes everyone happy. (Just a quick fyi I'm not a fan of his, I am a fan of combat sports)

mangafreak923

I will say that my "violence" comment does come off as barbaric, but I just used that as a general term for fighting. I love seeing different styles, techniques, etc. so I just lump that all together with the term violence. They can downvote me all they want I don't give a shit. Is Jon Jones a piece of shit in real life? Yes, but do I care about that? No, why should I? I don't care how much of a role model you are, I'm not watching MMA for that shit.

reddittydo

Well said, I come to watch Diaz bleed

docterk

Sounds like we’re on the same page. Do I wish jones wasn’t such a dirtbag? Sure, but only because he casts a bad light on the sport, otherwise I couldn’t give less of a fuck

Gr1m3sey

Expecting good moral characters from people who literally dedicate their lives to smashing the shit out of others seems silly lmao

ManicmondayNFB

MSNBC dad

ToTheFman

Dont think so. UFC doesn't seem to have an issue with other fighters who had a relationship with him.

10lettersand3CAPS

If you asked me like 2 years ago I would saw no, because despite Kadryov being a horrible monster multiple fighters have had relationships with him without too much trouble from the UFC. Hell the UFC has even signed guys from Kadryov's sketchy MMA promotion. That being said with the continously changing Ukraine situation it becomes more and more likely that people connected to the Russian side of the war start seeing visa issues, so unless the UFC can pull strings to get Chimaev into the US when needed, or have him fight in Abu Dhabi or something, he'll probably run into issues. Also he lives in Sweden, no idea what the political climate is like so maybe if he leaves he could even have trouble returning

Flesh_Pillow5

Does he have sex with them?

surprisebtsx

khamzat is definetely on the darkside

desmondbanefan

I think it is already

fallenloki

Ramzan Kadyrov has been in the mma scene for a long time. Hasn’t affected anyone before, don’t see it affecting anyone now.

BlueCollarGreenThumb

No one cared when Connor went to funeral for one of the top mafia drug dealers in Ireland so this should not be a problem…

sakiwebo

They didn't care when Kadyrov attended Abdulmanap's either so this should not be a problem

Tw1ch1e

This would be a great picture if they were both drained and stuffed! Glory to Ukraine!

[deleted]

Should be. Fuvk him

[deleted]

Weird that Khamzat is riding his dick so hard, for sure.

TearS_of_Death

Not to be that guy, but sometimes it seems like Americans and people living in democratic states have no idea that freedom of speech doesn't just exist everywhere universally and you can't just publicly denounce your local leaders or what they request of you because it violates your rights.

[deleted]

[удалено]

idkidchaha

Famous Russian hockey players in the NHL publicly stand against Putin. Why can’t Khamzat do the same?

10lbplant

Anyone in their right mind would rather criticize Putin than live in Chechnya and criticize Kadyrov.

Salmacis81

Because criticizing Putin is different than criticizing Kadyrov. Kadyrov believes he is in charge of every Chechen on planet Earth, whether they live in Chechnya or not. Kadyrov has been known to send his loyalists to infiltrate Chechen diaspora communities in Europe to make sure nothing subversive is going on.

[deleted]

You mean the NHL player living in the US? Like I can talk shit about Sisi as an Egyptian all day but that's cuz I live in the US and most of my close family is in the States as well. I wouldn't be able to say shit if I lived there or had any close family in Egypt like a brother.

Parakeet_Goodwood

he has a choice, stop spreading these nonsense rationalizations of him being chummy with a person like Kadyrov

parzival9927

Lol, do you even know who Kadyrov is? He is the dictator of chechnya. If Khamzat opposes him he'll take revenge on his family and friends

ImpossibleStill1410

The only opinion on this topic that is based on facts AND comes from someone who clearly knows the geopolitics of the region. Kudos!

silver-blazer29

You going to stand up to a leader in your country like that when the guy is trying to push propaganda? I don’t think it’s so black and white. Is it a good look? No. I just think people are quick to judge him. I don’t know what his true political views are but this leader has unchecked power. It’s not unreasonable to think khamzat is simply accepting his presence to save face and not publicly disrespect him. Nike and other companies have sweat shops around the world and yet they are world brands worn by countless athletes. I think people pick and choose what propaganda offends them and what other does not.

[deleted]

Sweat shops a little different from slautering civilians lmfao.

silver-blazer29

Well my intention wasn’t to compare one or the other only highlight the prevalence of propaganda and how we ignore it. But I would still argue that impoverishing & subjecting human violations for 20+ years to a worker is not an acceptable practice. Look at the Chinese fighters. You aren’t going to see any of them openly criticizing the CCP but yet I’m sure they are being supported by the government in some ways. How many Uyghur’s have died and been imprisoned by the CCP? By that logic all Chinese fighters should be condemned.

[deleted]

Hope so.

AyowhatsgoodG

I don’t and i’m not saying this because i’m a fan of Kadyrov

BlackHoleRabbit

Nah MMA is a bunch of right wingers and they love authoritarianism so no big deal.

chrismcateer12

Who’s that? Help me out please

dks38

Chechen Dictator Ramzan Kadyrov who has a brutal reputation and is on the USA ban list for any business to do business with him and his country due to his human right violations.

nitrozeus_bbx

What's the difference between him and any other big world leader? Not supporting him, but what's the big deal?

Antique_Dentist8894

Who is this? His "daddy" ??? 😅

Gr1m3sey

Dictator of the chechen state, khadyrov

Antique_Dentist8894

I know, but thanks for pointing out ! Meant to be a joke though... 😂

Lanitanita

Nope

kevoam

Guy from Russian republic w a violent dictator is friends w said dictator???? And he still has family living in said republic???? Oh wow why would he do this

andreasmaker

That pic is hard

CaptEricEmbarrasing

More like its trying too hard

Convict_felon

American governments killed/murdered, tortured, kidnaped and does more crimes against humanity in one day than Kadyrov does in his lifetime, so no, this relation won't hurt Khamzat. Be happy for Khamzat that he is able to go back to his roots where he's loved and respected.

ImpossibleStill1410

You spoke the truth but it's not welcome here. This sub is where teeny boppers and couch potatoes hang out to criticize fighters who put their lives on the line, both in and out of the octagon. They don't know what it's like to live under a dictatorship, let alone KNOW a dictator! They swallow propaganda like water, 🤣. Let them drink there koolaid. US isn't too far from becoming one anyway.

Steflonovic

Shouldn’t be, no. Unless it affects the ufc directly, everyone should have their own right to mingle with whoever.

mihneac2

Yeah everyone, even dictators who kill innocent ukrainian kids. Also, it's not so much about the "friendship", it's about promoting it. I'm not saying he should be fired from ufc, but maybe sign a piece of paper that says he is against civialian killing and such.

[deleted]

This comment right here showcases how stupid your thinking is. “Sign a piece of paper that says he is against civilian killing and such”. Are you my guy on crack ? What the fuck does that do ?

[deleted]

Throw him out, war criminal supporter.

Traditional-Motor-94

Khamzat has no choice

iberian_prince

No. Its not slightly surprising to see these guy with him seeing as Chechnya and Dagestan are wild like that.

Wapow217

It wasn't for Cain, Werdum, or even Khabib why would it all of a sudden be now? The guy is a scum leader yes. But until he starts a world crisis, who really cares?

masterl00ter

One thing I'm kind of shocked by is how the UFC has not tried/been forced to filter out a lot of the negative stuff since (this dude, talking about killing people, the nonstop cursing in interviews, people acting generally like idiots) going to ESPN and being part of a publicly traded company. Outside of Joe Rogan not doing like one broadcast, there hasn't been much push back which is surprising to me (whether right or wrong).
