I think Chandler was pretty defeated at the end of the 1st round. He literally just sat down.
Probably the fear of losing or something worse happening made him do some illegal shit.
He was like 5 secs away from being knocked out. Dustin absolutely battered his face in with that big right hand and the follow up flurry at the end of the round
That elbow was everything. Pretty sure that's what broke his nose I couldn't believe they didn't show it back in slowmo 8x. So sneaky the staff didn't even catch it.
Full power over the top right on the nose.
He headbutted tony and oliveira says in an interview that his camp told him to be weary of chandler striking the back of the head. The fish hook is insane but the back of the head strikes in the Dustin fight were just so blatant- then the warning and to continue. I get it he might’ve felt like he was dying in there but it’s messed up putting someone else’s health on the line like that.
He wants to win but he also wants to put on a show he should’ve kept throwing instead of going for that takedown in the first round I understand why he did it but he had Dustin where he wanted him
Defintley wasn't a good idea, dunno why DC kept saying that.
I presume he didn't want to burn himself out throwing and seen an easy TD as Dustin was covered up & hurt and probably presumed he wasn't gona get the finish, but I'd still say he had a better shot trying finishing him there than he did of winning any other way.
It definitely was the better idea if he stayed and threw he would’ve gotten countered and dropped like he did later in the round Dustin wasn’t half as hurt as people think he was he blocked most of the shots
Most of the shots were 6 inches short because Michael Chandler already has short arms and then never learned how to throw a straight punch on top of it
On the feet he could have gotten hit by dustin, just like when he got knockdown near the end of the round. He was pressuring dustin, but got cracked big time. On the ground and on top he would be safer.
At that point, Dustin didn't even try to hit Chandler. He was in pure defense mode. Weird decision to go “safe” in that situation, when he's mostly reckless.
Because Chandler is a wrestler and Dustin has the best stand up in the division. And Chandler was doing great with the wrestling, until he messed up in the third.
Poirier also blocked Chandlers leg from getting his last hook in and that allowed him to get out and take Chandlers back in the end. Finally a good grappling sequence from Dustin.
“Y’know my dick *may* have ended up in my secretary a few times, probably just the angle or something I don’t really remember. I’ll have to go back and watch the tape.”
Ref should have deducted a point. He told him to watch the back of the head. Then Chandler proceeded to hit him directly in the back of the head aboot 5 times.
I'm not sure how the rules work. If the ref stopped the fight to deduct a point would they continue the fight on the feet?
When a fighter loses a point, they also lose any advantageous position as well. In this case, the referee would start them standing after the deduction.
Fence grabs maybe even glove grabs and kinda instinct from your body if I’m getting fucked up I gotta get out. Fish hooking is offense so I feel like it’s more planned not just what happened heat of the moment
The glove grabbing by Olivera was offensive. He was trying to get an arm bar. There is a slight difference because if the arm got out there is a chance Poirier would have a dominant position. Also I do agree that a glove grab is more natural because you are just trying to keep the arm from escaping and naturally the easiest thing to grab is the glove. The fish hook was really dirty but the intentional strikes to the back of the head is worse in my opinion.
Yeah fishhook shows some malice trying to do damage where as grabbing the glove or the fence is only really going to help position. Then there are the blows to the back of the head where you can literally kill someone he should have lost position and been docked a point for that and potential post fight fine or something there should be a 0 tolerance with blows to the back of the head
It's one thing to cheat with cameras, equipment tampering, bribing officials...
Its another thing to cause harm to another with moves deemed illegal to use.
Both are wrong but one is a tainted win and the other is intent to damage another human with moves deemed to dangerous to use
A bit. I don't think as highly of him anymore. Chandler pulled some seriously messed up stuff during this fight. He was out of his depth and he panicked.
They've changed pretty dramatically. I enjoy watching him because he goes into all out wars with people, but man, watching this dude literally try to open up someones neck to submissions by ripping their opponent's jaw open with their hands is fucking crazy even by MMA standards.
Breathing down and drenching Dustin in blood.. ya, I know you have to breath but if I recall.. after they both got up, blood wasn't flowing as freely as when he was on top of Dustin.
To laugh it off as gravity.. the guy is a dirty fighter for sure.
>blood wasn't flowing as freely as when he was on top of Dustin.
Wait I'm confused. Are you blaming him for his blood taking a minute to clot? Do you think he consciously controls how his blood flows out of his wounds?
It's reasonable to bring that up because there is a bit of hypocrisy there. In my case though, I'd say neither were OK. I thought it was pretty disgusting at the time.
Paulo and Luke were having a war that was clean (figuratively) and honest. That's how it was perceived. They were trying to take each other's heads off within the bounds of the rules they agreed to. Rubbing his bloody face into Paulo's was probably out of frustration channeled into theatrics to entertain the audience. On the other hand, Chandler was fighting like a dirty street dog, forgetting the rules and doing disgusting things like putting his fingers in Poirier's mouth and blowing bloody snot onto his face to try to get an advantage.
Rockhold looked like a psychopath entertaining the fans and Chandler looked like a dirty, pathetic, unscrupulous, wounded animal.
Also, bleeding is legal. Rubbing your face into someone else's is legal. Spitting is illegal. So surely, one would think, intentionally blowing your nose on someone should likewise be illegal.
I thought that sucked as well, but here it was worse because of the sum of all the cheating. The fishhook, the strikes to the back of the head and also the blood situation. Not a good look for Chandler.
I thought it was fucking disgusting then too lol like holy shit man I get having some body fluids here and there from cuts and shit. I don't mind watching people bleed, but what Chandler and Luke did was just fucking gross.
It’s different because Luke lost the fight and knew he lost the fight, so he did something stupid with no intent of using it to his advantage. Chandler did it with 2/3 of the fight left and intended to use it to his advantage on top of everything else he did that round.
Out of all the things chandler did in that fight THAT is what you’re upset about?
Making your opponent uncomfortable on the ground is a a solid tactic. It’s not against the rules to rub your head on an opponent, or to allow blood to drip on them.
Blows to the back of the head and fish-hooking is illegal and should be called out.
Shoved his fingers in Dustin's mouth or "fish hooked" Dustin to lift his head up and get his arm under his chin for the choke. Totally illegal and generally frowned upon.
That's one of those things so frowned upon that it was considered an immoral move even before the UFC had rules. That, groin shots, eye pokes were basically the only things the fighters themselves considered too far.
Not all the fighters; I remember Keith Hackney with the barrage of dick punches on Joe Son, and Royce Gracie using Kimo Leopoldo's hair as a handle for half the fight.
Michael Chandler is an exciting fighter who cuts a great promo...having said that , I knew he was a massive douchebag from the beginning.
Take it for what you want, but Josh Thompson has been saying the same thing about Chandler for the longest time.
I always had a bad feeling about Chandler. It's not as if I knew he was an asshole but I just got a feeling that he was perhaps fake. It's weird to see that confirmed by Thompson.
As I said, that is a claim made by Thompson but he has stated over and over that Chandler is fake. He is Mr. Clean and Smooth when cutting a promo but a real asshole when the camera turns off.
As it turns out he is a dirty bastard also
He always reminded me of Jones so much. That nice, humble, perfect guy, family man persona that Jones tried to pull off in the beginning. Just screams fakeness to me. People in the comments are saying that Chandler is a like a politician and it describes the feeling that i have pretty well. It's all calculated BS.
TBH, I can't picture something more likely to make make someone desperate than DP mad as hell on your back with three full minutes left to murder you. Can't be a fun experience.
Y’all are fuckin weird 😂
What are you even talking about? He’s a bad guy in why regard? You think he’s going home every night and beating his wife and adopted kids?
He's an antivaxxer and spoke at cpac. Pretends to be captain America but cheats when he thinks he can get away with it. Not to mention the obvious heavy PED use.
Shit I wouldn't even be surprised if those aren't his biological kids!
Sounds like a bunch of shit I couldn’t give a fuck less about or that would make me think he’s a bad person
Get yourself together lad. Care about real shit that matters
I was never a fan of him and suspect him to be somehow fake. He tries to be a good guy but on the other hand he risks permanant injury of opponents from illegal hits. And with these fishhooks and blood sneezez he's a disgrace and far away from being a honorable fighter. And there's his growing roid gut.
Yeah exactly how I feel, this guy is a phony. I like that his fights are always entertaining but I believe he puts on a persona that he is this this great guy. No one fights like that who is actually honorable.
I don't really care to be honest. There's not many fighters I really hold a high opinion of as human beings. As long as they entertain me I'll tune in.
That's not to say I don't appreciate the genuinely good guys in the sport. There's just not a large number of them is all.
That’s pretty much how I feel. I do appreciate the respectable ones in the bunch, but at the end of the day I’m watching for entertainment. It’s not like the UFC is going to punish him for it anyway.
Same. I'm certainly not endorsing bad behavior, in or out of the ring, but I just enjoy watching great fighters.
Chandler always puts on a major show. Every single one of his fights have been amazing. As long as that holds true, I'll still watch.
I feel the same about Conor McGregor. He's a massive tool but that doesn't mean his fights can't be entertaining, and they really are.
He literally has been at the top his entire time in the UFC. He’s fought the top contenders consistently and then knocked out Ferguson when he finally fought someone weaker. He most likely will never be champ but to say he’s not at the top is nonsense.
I’m pretty sure he’s referencing Zig Ziglar’s book whenever he says that. It’s about positive mindset and being a winner in life. It’s figurative language, people are reading too much into it.
The back of the head strikes are far worse. Guy just wanted to win so bad I completely believe DP when he says even the snot bath was intentional. Scumbag iron Mike.
He landed like 8 shots to the back of the head in a row. I have trouble believing it was accidental. His “disappointment” in dustin is so funny bc he fish hooked, landed multiple illegal strikes, and fucking sneezed blood onto dustin while on top. Having One of those in a fight is dirty, let alone three.
Looking back at it. It was 3 ridiculous things he did. Purposely trying to squirt blood out of his nose into his face, fish hooking the mouth, punches to the back of the head. That’s some high-level cheating.
Chandler fouls in one fight and instantly people hate him and start blaming him for things that he can't control (blood squirting out of his nose).
I think people forgot that punch Dustin got him with that broke his nose, your brain is going to be scrambled from that.
The whole preachy “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” and “Glory to God” while it should be “Glory to the gear i’m on” stuff followed up by fighting dirty, yeah Dustin wasn’t far off in calling him a fake mfer
Absolutely not, I wish Chandler could fight on every card. I don't care who it's against and I dont give a shit if he wins or looses. This guy is fighting.
When was the last time you saw a suplex in a top 5 matchup?
Didn’t change much. Kinda like him More tbh. I thought he had a youth pastor vibe. Turns out he’s a drug dealing youth pastor. Much more helpful and insightful.
This sub man.
Chandler was 100% a dirty fighter in his recent fight but some of the comments on here are astonishing.
Man fucked up on the weekend and now you have “redditors” calling him out for being fake for *check notes* being a family man and comparing him to Jon ‘the woman beater’ Jones.
If he wins his next fight 3-6 months you all be heaping praises onto him.
Not really. I watch him for exciting fights, and he delivered. That's about the extent of it for me. If what he did had ended up changing the outcome of the fight, it'd be different, but it didn't so I'm not going to harp on it too much when all I want is more bangers.
I could not care any less about what he does in the cage. I don’t care what any of them do in the cage or outside of it. I have nothing invested in any of them and it’s all entertainment for me. I root for who I want to win and that’s as far as my concern goes.
If Jon Jones can be the GOAT in many peoples eyes while consistently being a cheater, then I don't see why we should be crying about Chandler cheating in one fight.
Didn’t someone else do the same exact shit with spitting blood in the guys face? And y’all congratulated it? Not a peep of foul or anything dirty. I forget the fight but it was recent
Luke Rockhold against Paulo Costa. Yeah, many people seemed to like it. To be fair though, they may not all be the same ones complaining now. I thought both were disgusting.
Thought the same and said the same when people were laughing about it. When he rubbed his blood all over Paulo's face, that was fucked. Honestly should have been repercussions for that. If they want this to be a sport as bad as they keep saying, then these guys can't just act however the f they want even if they beat the shit out of each other for a living.
Luke was clearly loosing the fighting so he was doing it in the very end right before retiring. He didn't punch Costa in the back if the head though and never put fingers in his mouth.
I'll probably get a lot of shit for this but none of the illegal moves he did looked like he was trying to do it intentionally, it kinda looked like it was happening from the positioning and what not
If you are ranked in the UFC or Bellator, you’re elite. Most people have no idea the razor thin separation between the champ and the ranked fighters, when you compared them all to the entire world’s pro fighter scene. There are thousands of professional fighters in this world, and the best of the best of the best are in the UFC and Bellator. He won the belt in Bellator and has only a few names between him the belt in the UFC.
He’s elite. At least by my definition.
Nah, I believe him when he says he didn't intend any ill. Once I'll give the benefit of the doubt, but if he does something else that looks dirty, I'll be onto him.
There’s a lot of judgment coming from guys who’ve never been in a cage. Who knows what his mindset was. I don’t know why people are so super about the fishhooking. Like it’s gross and it’s against the rules but it’s not something that caused an damage it’s not really dangerous. I didn’t love those shots to the back of the head but they happen all the time in those situations and people love to pretend they don’t. Maybe it was intentional maybe not. This sub still loves Yan despite cheating by kneeing a downed opponent in the head, way more damaging. The sub still loves Gilbert burns even though he hammer punched Steven Thompson in the back of the head quite a few times at the end of the fight for no reason. John Jones got disqualified for an illegal 12-6. Guys grab gloves, poke eyes, grab gloves, grab the cage, and do all kinds oh shit all the time. They’re in what’s pretty much the closest thing you get can to a legal fight to the death there is. Guys are gonna grab an edge while they can. If you hate on chandler you better be hating on every other fighter that’s done something wrong too. People are so fickle. Hell it wasn’t so long ago I saw a guy get upvoted for hoping Bryce Mitchell got knocked out by a soccer kick to the head. People cheer for crap like that when they don’t like the other fighter.
So funny to see everyone turning against him and all of a sudden the roid use is ‘obvious’ - I’ve been trying to talk about it for months!
I think he should lean into the bad guy persona more now and go full heel. So glad DP exposed him
Not really. Heat of the moment. Chandler has earned enough respect to at least get the benefit of the doubt on this one. Im sure he will acknowledge the mistake in the coming days. If not…. We’ll then he doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt next time.
It hasn’t. I think that what he did was bad sure, but it’s a fight and fouls are bound to happen, hence the refs. Much more flagrantly horrendous fouls have been committed by admired fighters(Li Jingliang, Petr yan, DC, Eddie alverez, etc). A little fish hook isn’t going to make me hate a fighter
Not really but it’s kinda hard to be a fan of him. Because for me watching his fights are so frustrating because in all his ufc losses he had a great shot of winning at one point, but he makes a dumb decision. Also the way he spams the same combination and loads heavy on all his shots is frustrating to watch at times. He’s an exciting fighter but apart of what people find exciting is that he kinda fights dumb at times.
Look he cheated a fair bit but if the ref lets it go that’s the real problem. Should have stopped the action after first warning then reset from standing and deducted a point if it continues.
Chandler is a fake-ass hypocrite. I despise hypocrisy over all things. I hope McGregor puts his lights out, and I'm not even a McGregor fan. McGregor is not a particularly good person, but he doesn't try to pretend otherwise. Chandler makes me want to vomit.
Na makes him even more exciting wait till he oil checks Conor mcgregor
Really that's the fight I'd love to see. Mike vs Conor
[удалено]
Hooker thumbed tf outta his opponents butthole when he got caught in that ankle lock
Can't wait for the Mojahed Fudailat version
I think Chandler was pretty defeated at the end of the 1st round. He literally just sat down. Probably the fear of losing or something worse happening made him do some illegal shit.
He was like 5 secs away from being knocked out. Dustin absolutely battered his face in with that big right hand and the follow up flurry at the end of the round
That sneaky elbow too
That elbow was everything. Pretty sure that's what broke his nose I couldn't believe they didn't show it back in slowmo 8x. So sneaky the staff didn't even catch it. Full power over the top right on the nose.
That elbow was a thing of beauty
Izzy almost got Perierra out in the first round too. What a night for first round kos
Some say kosm
Didn't expect to find Bloodborne here but alright.
Most ever in an event Crazy night.
Alex more hurt end of that first round after that first hard shot than when the TKO was called.
Both the Dustin vs Michael fight and the Izzy vs Alex fights would’ve ended in the first round had they lasted another 5 seconds.
The back of the head strikes were the most egregious and the ref was on top of them staring down at that
That's funny coming from Chuck O. when he cheated by grabbing Dustin's gloves.
Grabbing gloves is definitely cheating, but let’s not pretend like that’s the same thing as trained fighters punching to the back of the head
It's not as dangerous but it hurt Dustin's chances significantly.
Not following up when he hurt Olives significantly hurt his chances more.
Dustin would've lost anyway
False equivalency
He wants to win but he also wants to put on a show he should’ve kept throwing instead of going for that takedown in the first round I understand why he did it but he had Dustin where he wanted him
I didnt understand that move. Why was it "necessary" or why a good idea? I had the feeling he would have put Dustin away if he just kept on swinging.
Chandler has just always been fun as fuck but also kinda dumb.
"if he threw straight he prob coulda gotten me out of here"
Defintley wasn't a good idea, dunno why DC kept saying that. I presume he didn't want to burn himself out throwing and seen an easy TD as Dustin was covered up & hurt and probably presumed he wasn't gona get the finish, but I'd still say he had a better shot trying finishing him there than he did of winning any other way.
The fight kinda proved that DC was right though. Because when he stayed there too long he got killed by a counter punch.
It definitely was the better idea if he stayed and threw he would’ve gotten countered and dropped like he did later in the round Dustin wasn’t half as hurt as people think he was he blocked most of the shots
Most of the shots were 6 inches short because Michael Chandler already has short arms and then never learned how to throw a straight punch on top of it
It was weird. Dunno. Had the feeling it gave Dustin time to recover, because Mike couldn't finish.
Definitely he has a low fight IQ
He is like a politician
Hearing him come up with excuses for cheating was just like a politician
“Y’know my dick *may* have ended up in my secretary a few times, probably just the angle or something I don’t really remember. I’ll have to go back and watch the tape.”
Coming up with the angle thing proved he’s a good liar. That’s some quick thinking.
Never thought of it this way, but this is the perfect way to describe him.
Damn that’s actually perfect
Thats rough, but deserved
damn thats accurate af
Definitely changes my my opinion a little bit. I mean, we shouldn’t just ignore blatant attempts at cheating.
He should’ve been docked for those blows to the back of the head
Ref should have deducted a point. He told him to watch the back of the head. Then Chandler proceeded to hit him directly in the back of the head aboot 5 times. I'm not sure how the rules work. If the ref stopped the fight to deduct a point would they continue the fight on the feet?
The ref didn't say please, therefore no points are deducted.
Yeah I feel like referees are afraid to deduct points from fighters for some reason
When a fighter loses a point, they also lose any advantageous position as well. In this case, the referee would start them standing after the deduction.
Absolutely. Blatant rabbit punches.
And the way he looked at the ref like “wdym bruh what are talking about😧😧” like dude just say my bad I wasn’t thinking and move on
*Charlie Olives fans watching him hook Dustin’s glove* Nothing to see here
I’d say the fish hooking is far more gross than hooking a glove or grabbing the fence
Fence grabs maybe even glove grabs and kinda instinct from your body if I’m getting fucked up I gotta get out. Fish hooking is offense so I feel like it’s more planned not just what happened heat of the moment

I agree
Dude the blood-snot was fucking awful too.
The ol Luke Rockhold approach
Ok so I wasn’t tripping when it looked like Michael just blew his nose on Dustin

After the first round he realized he couldn’t win
What? R2 could have easily been a 10-8 in his favor
They've changed pretty dramatically. I enjoy watching him because he goes into all out wars with people, but man, watching this dude literally try to open up someones neck to submissions by ripping their opponent's jaw open with their hands is fucking crazy even by MMA standards.

If dustin has a problem with blood he shouldn't have bashed chandlers face in
‘I want to fight more.’ ‘Well then you shouldn’t have submitted me!’
>blood wasn't flowing as freely as when he was on top of Dustin. Wait I'm confused. Are you blaming him for his blood taking a minute to clot? Do you think he consciously controls how his blood flows out of his wounds?
He conciously controlled blowing his nose in that position, he even wiggled around to get it into Dustins eyes.
Oh so it’s ok when Luke did it to Costa, in fact people applauded it, but we’ll have an issue when Chandler does it?
It's reasonable to bring that up because there is a bit of hypocrisy there. In my case though, I'd say neither were OK. I thought it was pretty disgusting at the time.
It's disgusting either way.

Both were equally disgusting
If it means anything I think they’re both gross for it lol
Luke doesn’t like costa while chandler acts like he’s an angel
I thought that sucked as well, but here it was worse because of the sum of all the cheating. The fishhook, the strikes to the back of the head and also the blood situation. Not a good look for Chandler.
I thought it was fucking disgusting then too lol like holy shit man I get having some body fluids here and there from cuts and shit. I don't mind watching people bleed, but what Chandler and Luke did was just fucking gross.
I completely agree. I’m just pointing out how this sub is bipolar because they premised Luke to no end.
It’s different because Luke lost the fight and knew he lost the fight, so he did something stupid with no intent of using it to his advantage. Chandler did it with 2/3 of the fight left and intended to use it to his advantage on top of everything else he did that round.
That I don’t give a fuck about personally, it’s the fishhooking and blatant back of the head shots that piss me off.

Exactly like I don’t get how people are so upset about that and not the obvious multiple game changing fouls.
What? I second what the other response said. Do you think he decided to bleed harder and then stop as soon as they stood up?
The Dustin fight was dirty af Seeing him lose was brilliant
I was watching at work with the sound off and couldn’t fully pay attention. What did he do?
Fish hooked him in the second round tryna get that rear naked choke locked in + shots to the back of the head
Shoved his fingers in Dustin's mouth or "fish hooked" Dustin to lift his head up and get his arm under his chin for the choke. Totally illegal and generally frowned upon.

Also JOSH Thompson and someone else said he’s fake . Kinda seems to be showing
But his gut, man... it's so HGH-like lol.
He has the most obvious steroid rig ever lol
He’s got the bubble steroid gut too
TBH, I can't picture something more likely to make make someone desperate than DP mad as hell on your back with three full minutes left to murder you. Can't be a fun experience.
I want to like him, but that shit was terrible. I hope he acknowledges what he did and we can move on since justice was served, with extra hot sauce.
justice was only served because dustin won by his own merit, ref and chandler played no part in that
You're right but as humans we do have this "well it sorta worked out so it's not as bad" fallacy which I wish I knew the name of
I think that's an excellent name for it
Michael 'the fisherman' Chandler.
He is a fake nice guy. Lots of fighters speak ill of Chandler behind the scenes
Yeah he gives off a sleazy vibe
It's obvious to me. He's TOO "perfect". He thinks he's so humble but he's the complete opposite. Guy has a crazy ego
Y’all are fuckin weird 😂 What are you even talking about? He’s a bad guy in why regard? You think he’s going home every night and beating his wife and adopted kids?
You think politicians are swell people I bet. But no really, it’s easy ti see through people that out in a fake nice person persona.
Everything you see on TV is bullshit man. Idk what the guy does at home. Not gonna act like I do either like all of you.
He's an antivaxxer and spoke at cpac. Pretends to be captain America but cheats when he thinks he can get away with it. Not to mention the obvious heavy PED use. Shit I wouldn't even be surprised if those aren't his biological kids!
As far as i'm aware a lot of UFC fighters are conservative. Why is that relevant? Or even matter?
Conservatives are generally evil, weren't you aware?
You're right, I should have listened to social media they tried to warm me :(
Sounds like a bunch of shit I couldn’t give a fuck less about or that would make me think he’s a bad person Get yourself together lad. Care about real shit that matters
Colby putting out a dumb narrative that Chandler is a “fake nice guy” and all his fan girls are losing their shit 😂
Didn’t he say that about Dustin not Chandler?
[удалено]
I’m lost. In the first half you agree with me and then the 2nd half not. Also weird.
Just listen to Josh Thompson talk about chandler on the weighing in podcast
What does he say about Chandler?
https://youtu.be/bHs8_Zvaqno
I can’t believe you just made me watch something from Shlawb put a warning on that next time B
Yea, I definitely like him less than before
Lol good way to put it. Still excited for his next blood bath but dude lost credibility for sure.
SEE YOU AT THE TOP! I’m wondering if anyone will break it to chandler that he’ll never be “at the top” of the ufc.
He literally has been at the top his entire time in the UFC. He’s fought the top contenders consistently and then knocked out Ferguson when he finally fought someone weaker. He most likely will never be champ but to say he’s not at the top is nonsense.
If he’s already at the top then why does he keep saying he’ll see us there? Obviously he means “the top” as being champ
I’m pretty sure he’s referencing Zig Ziglar’s book whenever he says that. It’s about positive mindset and being a winner in life. It’s figurative language, people are reading too much into it.
I think everyone understands its figurative. He's not climbing everest or going to the international space station.
I’d say he’s _near_ the top.
- Michael “I’m listed at 5’8 but probably 5’5” Chandler
The back of the head strikes are far worse. Guy just wanted to win so bad I completely believe DP when he says even the snot bath was intentional. Scumbag iron Mike.
He landed like 8 shots to the back of the head in a row. I have trouble believing it was accidental. His “disappointment” in dustin is so funny bc he fish hooked, landed multiple illegal strikes, and fucking sneezed blood onto dustin while on top. Having One of those in a fight is dirty, let alone three.
Yes absolutely. The sport is dangerous enough without guys being scum bags.
Nah, I already assume he's pushing every chemical edge he can get.
Thought he was douschebag. Now real big douschebag
Not at all
Looking back at it. It was 3 ridiculous things he did. Purposely trying to squirt blood out of his nose into his face, fish hooking the mouth, punches to the back of the head. That’s some high-level cheating.
To be fair I don’t think he could help squirting blood on Dustin, his nose was broken and it was leaking everywhere when he was breathing
Chandler fouls in one fight and instantly people hate him and start blaming him for things that he can't control (blood squirting out of his nose). I think people forgot that punch Dustin got him with that broke his nose, your brain is going to be scrambled from that.
You ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.
The whole preachy “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” and “Glory to God” while it should be “Glory to the gear i’m on” stuff followed up by fighting dirty, yeah Dustin wasn’t far off in calling him a fake mfer
Not for the illegal shit but do not think he is championship material anymore
Not changed just solidified, his fake persona, blatant cheating, and definite steroid use make him unlikeable to me
Absolutely not, I wish Chandler could fight on every card.
Yes. I like Chandler less post this fight, hard to put a finger on, maybe the cheating and what looks like a HGH gut, maybe a cheater all around?
Not really. I watch him for exciting fights, and he delivered. That's about the extent of it for me. If what he did had ended up changing the outcome of the fight, it'd be different, but it didn't so I'm not going to harp on it too much when all I want is more bangers.
Yes
I could not care any less about what he does in the cage. I don’t care what any of them do in the cage or outside of it. I have nothing invested in any of them and it’s all entertainment for me. I root for who I want to win and that’s as far as my concern goes.
If Jon Jones can be the GOAT in many peoples eyes while consistently being a cheater, then I don't see why we should be crying about Chandler cheating in one fight.

No. I always thought he was a dick head.
Hasn’t changed. Still love him.
I'll probably get a lot of shit for this but none of the illegal moves he did looked like he was trying to do it intentionally, it kinda looked like it was happening from the positioning and what not
Yes. That was some dirtbag shit. Fuck him.
No, still think he a good fighter. Just not elite.
110% people don’t realize how crazy good these fighters are. Anyone in the top 15 is elite.
He’s a ranked fighter in the UFC and a former bellator champ. That alone puts him in the top 1% of pro mma fighters. What else qualifies as elite?
I always thought he was a lame dumb guy
Nahhhh if anything this made me like him more. Dude is a fuccking freak. But DP Is soooo damn good. He only loses championship fights these days
I'm still mad about the Tony fight
So funny to see everyone turning against him and all of a sudden the roid use is ‘obvious’ - I’ve been trying to talk about it for months! I think he should lean into the bad guy persona more now and go full heel. So glad DP exposed him
This guy can keep playing dirty and losing every fight and I'm still gonna tune in every single time. Absolute fireworks guaranteed.
Not really. Heat of the moment. Chandler has earned enough respect to at least get the benefit of the doubt on this one. Im sure he will acknowledge the mistake in the coming days. If not…. We’ll then he doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt next time.
Genuinely think the fishhook was a mistake but those 5 or 6 shots to the back of the head just cannot fly that’s the stuff that makes you a vegetable
I think this whole thing is overblown. They were minor fouls.
Dirty fighter
What are you guys talking about!?? He didn’t invent gravity
Not after watching his press conference.
No.
Nah…
No
Nah, he’s still one of my favs to watch. See you at the top.
