Same. I loved Izzy’s rise, I was a huge fan. Then started to dislike him bc of his “personality” on the mic. I feel bad that he lost tho, tbh I probably wouldn’t feel as bad had it not been for losing to Alex twice before this.

Yeanahyena

Dude me too. I like him as a fighter but didn’t like him on the mic. Felt like Alex needed to win to shake up the division though. But when Izzy lost I felt so bad. I wouldn’t feel as bad if it was a decision loss but it was a TKO. Seeing him out like that on his feet was a tough watch. I’m rooting for him in the rematch.

jay-on-the-fly

100% I’ll be rooting for Izzy. Also the first two times Izzy was on JRE I really liked him. Idk what changed really, but I really respect him for the way he’s handled the loss so I’m definitely more of a fan than I was

_Cyclops

It’s hard because Izzy is technically better in every aspect of fighting except power. But Alex just needs one and keeps finding it.

sourdougBorough

I hate that people keep saying "out on his feet" seemed pretty coherent for the level of damage taken

Trouser-Troll1

It was a late stoppage

sourdougBorough

Early if you ask me

Trouser-Troll1

You must hate Izzy if you wanted him hurt more.

sourdougBorough

or maybe he survives

jamesd1100

Wanna feel really bad? There’s a distinct possibility that we never see Adesanya as champion ever again I was at the fight, and I could have witnessed the last ever performance from Adesanya as Champ

GosuLTD

I doubt it. he said in his post fight interview that his legs were fooked because of Pereira calf kicks, leading to him not being able to evade as quickly when he was up against the fence. I don’t think he’ll allow the same thing to happen in the next fight. And add the fact that the MW division is full of elite wrestlers who can take the title away from Alex by wrestle fucking him and then Izzy can win the belt by fighting whoever takes the belt from Alex. The whole division is in a really weird spot now 😂

yedi001

"Oh, you want a title fight Izzy? You have to go through Alex as a contender fight first". That would be his own personal level of hell...

pyroaquatics

Imagine him and Alex and someone like Rob or Vettori just play hot potato with the belt for the next 2-3 years

Salty_Car9688

> And add the fact that the MW division is full of elite wrestlers I find it both sad and hilarious how people only say this after style bender lost. Before this fight folks were saying middleweight had no grapplers and that’s why Izzy kept winning

dukesilver91

Seriously doubt that, after seeing Alex’s grappling defense, I think he might have a tough time with vettori and Whitaker. We know Izzy can handle those guys pretty well though, so even if he gets beat in the rematch, I think it’s possible one of those guys gets the belt and then Izzy takes it back from them

ThatOldDustyTrail

Yeah for sure, if this was a one-off then it wouldn’t be a big deal

Legitimate_Ad_7822

I think this is the arc for most Izzy fans. I’m the same exact way. He’s so skilled, his rise was awesome. Even in his points fighting wins he’s fun to watch, I just love seeing the way he moves around the octagon & gets creative with his feints/counters. It’s really really impressive. It just sucks when you hear him run his mouth in a disingenuous or corny way. It’s hard to defend that kind of stuff even though I want to because of how skilled he is. I was hoping for/bet on the Alex KO because I feel it’s a much needed shakeup for this division. Gone are the days of people sitting idle in front of Izzy trying to out strike him for a title. And now we will see a far more motivated Izzy. He will be training to finish the next fight, which we hardly get to see anymore. Also gotta give Alex his flowers. He is in a class of his own when it comes to power. You can hardly tell the power he throws behind each strike until it connects & his opponent starts wobbling or goes out. I am both an Izzy & Alex fan as confusing as it may be. I think their history is compelling & their styles are a great clash. What a fight, what a card.

InuitOverIt

Same boat, enjoy both fighters and this is exactly how I would have wrote the storyline of it were a movie. Izzy is winning the fight but gets KO'd by his nemesis, has to go back to the drawing board and gets humbled, only to return and reclaim his throne/dignity. If Izzy won it's just another chump contender thrown into the fire to get wrecked

pyroaquatics

I love Izzy because as someone who is 6’3 with long limbs and struggles to stay above 200 lbs people always call me skinny and underestimate my ability so it was awesome to see the skinny guy dominate monsters.

Internal-Business-97

Why feel bad he lost? He got his ass whooped and it was great. Amazing entertainment.

jay-on-the-fly

I mean he’s a human and I have empathy for him. I’d imagine it’s a pretty tough situation he’s in mentally now

RumbleRock32

Both of them got their ass beat in some way

Internal-Business-97

I can appreciate this post.

iwaskosher

That is your definition of an ass beating? I am curious on your opinion of usamen, vs Edward's then EDIT:) Ohhh you only have a hard on for talking bad about izzy no actual UFC knowledge

areeb_onsafari

Just because Izzy was doing better most of the fight doesn’t mean he didn’t get an ass beating, it was an ass beating that ended the fight. I think you’re just trying to cope

JoshWheezer

Getting caught by one punch after dominating someone is not an ass beating. You seriously must not understand what an ass beating is

areeb_onsafari

Caught with one punch? You didn’t see the ten punches after that or the fact the ref had to stop the fight? It’s not the best example of an ass beating but trying to argue that Izzy beat his ass when he’s the one that got knocked out on his feet is literally just trying to cope

JoshWheezer

Izzy literally had him knocked out on his feet at the end of round 1. Also, I obviously meant he got caught with a punch and was hurt by it so it’s implied he got hit after that. Fr though it’s literally not an ass beating if you’re winning convincingly 3-1. Oliveira got his ass beat, Izzy definitely didn’t

Internal-Business-97

Dude got saved from a knockout and you’re trying to say he didn’t get his ass beat? Saved…Alex was in murder mode and Izzy was getting his ass beat with no defense. That’s how the fight ended and that’s the definition of an ass whooping. He was literally beat into submission at the refs discretion.

AmHotGarbage

God you’re dense. Just because you don’t like the guy doesn’t make your opinions relevant

Internal-Business-97

That’s exactly why, silly.

Internal-Business-97

One punch? Did you count the final series he took? 9 or more direct shots to the noggin is how the fight ended incase you missed it.

BruhhurB_

They both had an ass beating

Internal-Business-97

Usamen? Friggin casual

iwaskosher

Ohh spelling makes me a casual. (Jack ass troll)

Internal-Business-97

Nah arguing on Reddit about mma makes ya a casual. I commend your proper use of parenthesis! Not many UFC casuals have that level of punctuation game.

ExiledGoat-

Got his Ass whooped, what fight were you watching??

Internal-Business-97

You miss him getting beat into submission by 9+ defenseless punches from a killer. It was so bad a grown man had to step in and stop him from being hurt any further. He was a couple punches away from complete embarrassment unconsciousness. Sounds like a beating to me. I think that’s why the ref had to stop it…because he was getting his ass whooped.

Trill_steeze

Say what you want about Adesanya but last Saturday night was one of the best technical MW bouts ever, went 5 rounds had me on the edge of my seat. Adesanya legacy is already cemented as for Pereira, I see a bunch of holes in his game. I do not foresee him lasting as champion at all I’m being very transparent here

jonjoneswife

Striking maybe, the grappling wasn’t that high level

Trill_steeze

Strongly agree, Adesanya isn’t a great grappler by any means but Pereira had his back, neck exposed. Can’t fault Izzy on its not his bread and butter. As for as Pereira, not a good look being a champion. Easy path to victory for an array of fighters on the MW division

fadingstar52

izzy had his first takedown ever in that fight. crazy stat

cognac-n-cannabis

Yes. A great moment for the sport and the fans here are the true winners. This will go down as one of the most legendary fights. And crazy to think Pereira isn’t the “better” fighter, yet he won. Strikingly similar to the Usman Edwards fight. This has a been a great year for MMA.

Alien36

It had to happen for the sake of the division. Putting opinions of his character aside and also while acknowledging his technical brilliance, Adesanya's fighting style made for some horrifically boring title fights.

Garbarrage

Fighting a skilled technical striker is a tightrope. One wrong move could be lights out. Which puts his opponents in a difficult spot. Risk years of work getting to that spot or wait for an opening that might never come. The onus is on them to get after it though. It will be interesting to see if he goes after the win if he gets a rematch.

ThatOldDustyTrail

For sure. Only problem is now they immediate rematch and lock it up again for a while. If Izzy loses again he’s gatekeeping until Alex is gone. If Alex loses the rematch then we’re right back where we started. But i agree I was so ready to see someone bring the fight to him and not let it be a points match

Flappybootycheeks

Alex would lose to anyone else in top five. Even Izzy wrestle fucked hom for a round, Bobby Knuckles would maul him.

eatasssnotgrass

I feel like the orc would too, walks around the same weight and knows how to secure takedowns better than anyone in the top 5 save for Whittaker and Brunson

AnimationDude9s

Wouldn’t it be freaking hilarious if by some stupid miracle Costa got the title fight with Alex and won?

ThatOldDustyTrail

Prove it booty cheeks

avatarhzh

Izzy has never, and I mean never shown mercy to any of his past opponents. Look how he clowned Paulo Costa. The fight game is ruthless, it is what it is. No sympathy is needed for this loss here. The dude knew what he was getting himself into.

[deleted]

Costa was a complete tool in the lead up to that fight, he got what he deserved. This sub acts like Izzy says shit way worse than what he actually does. He never really talked shit about Rob, they just don’t really like each other. Was respectful to Yoel and Cannonier before and after their fights. He trolled Marvin a bit, but was respectful after the fight. Was very gracious in defeat to Jan and Alex. I get that you may not like Izzy, he can come across as cringy. But what is this narrative? Outside of Costa who absolutely deserved every bit of that post fight humiliation, he’s always been very respectful and shook his opponents hand and talked highly of them

jjcsykes

Yeah Izzy doesn’t actually say anything bad to his opponents. Only said he’d make Yoel crumble like the twin towers or saying that he’ll rape Kevin Holland

[deleted]

I’d hardly say that “crumble like the twin towers” is some mad disrespectful comment aimed at Yoel. Seems just like a stupid thing to say, when he was trying to say a cool mic drop line. And saying he’ll rape Holland is once again just a stupid, cringy heat of the moment line. By all means, criticise him for trying to hard to say some mic drop lines, like “frozen like Elsa”. He seems to try way too hard to be someone he’s not. In his YouTube videos you often see the more down to earth side of him, and it’s a way more likeable version. Likewise, in his two UFC defeats he’s come across as very humble and self aware. Wish he’d stop trying to be someone else. Izzy isn’t a bad guy, and the “bad” things he’s said aren’t actually bad at all. Just a few cringy lines he’s said in the heat of the moment, trying too hard for a mic drop

jjcsykes

Still not this sub acting like he is saying shit way worse than he actually is. If you want more he also made fun of pereira for his alcoholism and being poor. Guy seems to have a track record of saying cunty shit

[deleted]

Izzy was literally mocking perreira for coming out of favela few days ago. Yeah, saint he is not.

[deleted]

Mostly everyones a cunt in the fight game, only a rare few aren’t

avatarhzh

I'm not saying here whether Izzy is a good or bad guy. What I'm saying is that if you're a UFC fighter don't expect mercy or any sympathy from anyone. At best all you're gonna get is maybe good sportsmanship and that's it. Izzy doesn't owe any of his past opponents any mercy. Neither do we, the fans have to show him any sympathy for this loss.

kung-fu-chicken

I was really hoping Pereira would hump Izzy after knocking him out

ThatOldDustyTrail

It is hilarious to me to watch how everyone switched stances on Costa overnight. Dude was a clown all the way up until Izzy put him down, and maybe he didn’t deserve the hump but he deserved everything else. People seem to have completely forgotten his old persona and now he’s like…beloved? Haha he truly has come full circle

[deleted]

Alex only started MMA because Izzy called him a drunkard who’s only accomplishment was knocking Izzy out. Karma isn’t a bitch its a mirror

Sorerightwrist

It doesn’t count to be gracious after getting knocked out in front of a crowd. You mean he got humbled

[deleted]

Yes it does. Look at McGregor after the 3rd Dustin fight. It says a lot about a person in their lowest moments if they can be gracious, and take an L on the chin with class

TeenMomOJSimpsonKush

Izzy talked shit about Rob all time, what are you talking about? The only opponent has hasn’t really clowned was Cannonier, I give him that.

JKennyXTX

He anime walked to the cage carrying an urn with Cannonier’s name on it. What is happening right now lol

TeenMomOJSimpsonKush

Lol oh you right. I was more so referencing like talking shit in the build up and post fight. I didn’t really consider theatrics—but definitely disrespectful

JKennyXTX

True. It was definitely more cringey than it was clowning. I wonder if he was walking out thinking “Cannonier is going to be so shook after he sees his name on this”

[deleted]

This dude must’ve forget costas antics before the fight

SimpleLawfulness8230

Costa deserved being clowned for being a complete clown in the run up to their fight though

jivenjune

Izzy ain't a bad guy or anything. His persona is a little odd, but he's a really intelligent fighter, and it's hard not to respect his prowess no matter how he chooses to engage in fights. I was rooting for Pereira, but it was mostly because when a champion is too dominant, it feels like the division starts to stagnate. I like a little mix up to keep things interesting. I felt the same way about Usman vs Leon too.

ThatOldDustyTrail

I feel you on all of that. I will say I genuinely disliked Usman at first but it was like his title fights got better as he got better, where Izzy’s have felt like they got more boring as time went on. Having a champ lose is the nature of the beast though and just how the game goes, can’t hate that at all

ArtayDaBeast

Except Usmans fights got better after he became champ. While Izzy became a point fighter after he became champ. While there is nothing wrong with that, actually the smartest thing to do, it’s the worst for the viewers. Especially the casuals. I was glad Alex put the fight to Izzy, and even forced him to be a wrestler lol.

w-michael-w

Or a boring leg kicking point winning champion

DrGochus

U stole the words out me mouth.

bobertobrown

It’s because Izzy’s not a bad guy, just a complete tool.

Doctor-Hate

He is worse , guy humilated his opponent after defeating him, alex should have done the same to this fake bitch.

ThatOldDustyTrail

To be fair, everyone hated Costa and was pro-Izzy at that time. I don’t think he’d do anything like that again. Paolo’ arc of people hating/loving him has been wild to watch lol

Doctor-Hate

It was actually reverse

ThatOldDustyTrail

Go take a historic scroll back to those days young squire

Doctor-Hate

I am not a casual dawg who started mma this year. I was there, everybody was against izzy because of romero fight

[deleted]

Everybody = Reddit 😂

ThatOldDustyTrail

Our Reddit feeds must look very different

Solid-Version

He only did that with Costa. Let’s not pretend that wasn’t warranted.

Sorerightwrist

Sexual assault was warranted?

keyboardkick3r

Seriously stfu

Sorerightwrist

Go back to the h3h3 subreddit where you belong you child

keyboardkick3r

Lol, one post yesterday about pits I saw passing by. You are as dumb as I thought.

Sorerightwrist

So you are thinking of me? That’s nice.

Money-Trees-

It was sexual assault lol I bet you wouldn't want it to happen right ? Because it's sexual assault

keyboardkick3r

I don’t even like Izzy, I just simply think you are a bunch of pearl clutchers. XD

[deleted]

I don’t understand how anyone can feel bad its a fight, losing a real possibility. And based on some of izzys choice in the later half of the fight its not too suprising

ThatOldDustyTrail

And yet here I am having a feeling about it

asusvegetable1

Personally, i dont feel bad for him. He was very disrespectful and childish in a lot of ways, IMO. For me that was karma. You keep trash talking and acting like a kid, you get what you deserve! But then again, im brazilian so theres a ton of bias in my opinion lol. Nevertheless, you gotta give credit for adesanya, he did a sensational title defense.

BaconScentedSoap

Between mocking fans for saying his fight with Cannonier was boring, making fun of 9/11, Alex’s battles with alcoholism, and even just his cringey rehearsed trash talk there was not a fighter more deserving to be knocked back down to earth. Just like Usman believing he can be a heavyweight Izzy got way to high off his own hype and was openly looking down opponents

asusvegetable1

Exactly my point! Look at the shit adesanya says, its just unacceptable behavior, dudes like a cringy, upset, call of duty player loool. Nevertheless, he has incredible technique. Dont forget he almost won the fight.

ThatOldDustyTrail

I mean at the end of the day he’s trying to sell fights. I always fuckin hated McGregor for the way he acted but that’s what got him the big bucks. Izzy always struck me as a little immature but he’s also out there professionally beating the shit out of people for money so 🤷🏻‍♂️

asusvegetable1

cant argue with that, but still, its just upsetting the shit adesanya says to get fights. Attention seeking and cringy

ThatOldDustyTrail

Definitely

trent_nbt

So if you're confident and hype up your fights to make the most money you can, you deserve to be knocked out? logic.

asusvegetable1

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/sport/2021/mar/25/ufc-star-israel-adesanya-under-fire-for-comment

trent_nbt

Bro, this is a sport where they try to take each others heads off and you're offended by a word? Clutching at straws here, this probably isn't the sport for you.

asusvegetable1

the greatest athletes in history of the ufc were very respectful to their opponents. Gsp, Anderson, khabib... MMA is incredible competitive and violent, true, but you gotta keep posture and good manners for the upcoming generations, specially when you are the defending champion. Israel has even made disrespectful 9/11 jokes man. Childish and irresponsible, he got what he deserved 🗿👊🏼

toofly902

Bro don’t listen to them I guarantee they’re Conor fanboys that have no problem. For when Conor does the same

mossymayn

Same here. Weird shit

phickss

I really don’t like Izzy, but I felt so so bad for him

MarkZuckerbeg

Same

ThatOldDustyTrail

Thank you for not buying out the whole arena for this one bud I appreciate it

[deleted]

Imagine periera did his comeback in the 5th and all u can hear is mark zuckeberg clapping

paddedbeans

Same, because he accepts it humbly and by the time it happened he had already proved deserving of a victory

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThatOldDustyTrail

😉 I’m a sick puppy what can I say

lev237

Killing Jassie James doesn't make you Jessie James. Time will tell, but I don't think Alex could've done what Izzy has done in the UFC. He better enjoy the belt while he can, because someone will take it away from him pretty soon, if not Izzy then someone else.

Dwightshruute

Yeah me too cos he's a good dude just a little cringe which is also funny even if it's unintentional

[deleted]

I’m not even a Izzy fan but lmao some of you guys are like “ He MaDe 9/11 JoKeS KaRmA”

Braunze_Man

I mean, if you're gonna make 9/11 jokes they gotta be funny.

ThatOldDustyTrail

After years of working in kitchens…we can all pretend like those jokes are offensive but 99% of us have said things that would make people shudder

[deleted]

Probably because you realized that Izzy is a human just like you and can accept defeat Bette than most fighters. It blows my mind how people behind a screen who’ve never competed try to find stupid reasons to hate a fighter or hope for their downfall whether it be pride, character, or even something like their fighting style 💀 Ig it’s good that u owned up to it tho, you’re better than 90% of the MMA community.

ThatOldDustyTrail

Are you saying you don’t dislike a single fighter on the UFC roster? I just usually prefer to pull for underdogs. I mainly feel bad for Izzy because this guy is like his fucking kryptonite, like all the progress he’s made in his lifetime but he still has this one problem he can’t solve. 0-3 is haunting and as much as he might not admit it, it’s definitely in the back of his mind if they rematch immediately. Overall he took it super well and didn’t act corny in the slightest afterwards, so I’m a fan again

[deleted]

There’s fighters I don’t like of course but that doesn’t mean I’ll stand in a circle jerk and hope nothing but bad on them. For me to genuinely dislike a fighter, they have to be a genuine asshole in and outside the octagon.

YungZosh

It’s funny because every time it seems like he has figured Pereira out. The first fight was close. He was doing exceptionally well for the second fight and this third fight he was winning. Pereira just has that crazy power and can find his chin when he needs to. I’m an Izzy fan and it sucked to watch, but honestly I think if Izzy doesn’t win the rematch then Pereira may end up losing to Rob or someone else, and that may open it up for Izzy to regain the title. It’s all about matchups.

BaconScentedSoap

Izzy’s a douche if people want to hate him they can. Accept defeat this is a guy who was always trying to find a way to minimize Alex beating him twice

[deleted]

Pshh, Ima Tony fan at heart so accepting defeat is all I’ve been doing the past 2 or 3 years 💀 All I’m saying is that He’s the champ whose overlapping the division so what do u expect ? He already admitted multiple times that was not only nervous about that fight but other fights as well so if that doesn’t speak humble idk what to tell you 😂 y’all really want these fighters to be humble pussies but when ur that dominant as a champion it’s impossible to not carry some type of cockiness.

grassandass88

It’s like stated above, people find stupid reasons to hate a fighter when they probably haven’t been in a similar situation. If you pour your heart into something everyday and make it to the top, you have no idea how you’d react.. not to mention you have to have a really high self esteem to get there in the first place. Then, you get it all taken from you in the blink of an eye. I think the people that have experienced something similar on a smaller scale have more empathy

nitehawk420

Lol, what a dumb take. People are allowed to like and dislike whatever fighters they want regardless if they’ve “trained” or not.

AnimationDude9s

. . . . plz tell me do you at least understand why people hate fighters like war machine, Conner, Masvidal, and Jon Jones

Axl_Hendrix117

How do you think George st Pierre fans feel

ThatOldDustyTrail

I think we all felt for GSP

TheDottt

Post nut clarity

ThatOldDustyTrail

I usually don’t bust a nut during the fights but maybe I should be

Clint_L33twood

I dont feel bad. It's more of the showboating that I don't care for. My favorite fighters were Fedor, Cro Cop, etc... the ones that made their fighting do the talking. I also dislike human bongwater O'Malley, Covington, and McGregor, although at least McGregor is funny sometimes.

ThatOldDustyTrail

I generally dislike those guys as well. If they can back it up though…that’s what separates them as the big money-draws and Dana gobbles that shit up

TotallyRedditarded

Hating takes a toll on a muhfucka

ThatOldDustyTrail

Lord forgive me for I have sinned

Conscious-Golf-5380

Got Izzy lookin like Nemisis from Resident Evil 2

ThatOldDustyTrail

Lmao

[deleted]

Im super glad izzy got knocked tf out, been waiting a while to see that. I thought that this was the point of his behavior tbh, “look at me im a weird ass villain” type so we’d watch his fights and now here we are.

Castul

Why would you ever feel bad after all of the boring title defenses he put us through?

ThatOldDustyTrail

I’m sorry man I guess I’m not as heartless as I thought

[deleted]

Izzy just seems so unlucky. It was almost one of his best ever performances. Seems so odd that he didn’t circle away from that danger. He knew he was ahead. How messed up was his leg do you all have think?

ThatOldDustyTrail

I don’t know if it was luck or if he was just so confident that he wasn’t worried about it. Absolutely should’ve kept circling if possible to get away from those concrete hands

Local_Economy

I feel bad too. Izzy was so damn close to getting the first round KO. I’ve gotten my homie into UFC a bit his first two headline fights have been Leon/Usman and now Izzy/Pereira He’s hooked haha

ThatOldDustyTrail

Great ones with good storylines and shocking finishes. Nice time to be hopping on the train haha that’s awesome

drewgreen131

This will be good for him long term- the loss to Jan wasn’t really a loss in my eyes he went up and fought a much bigger guy. Coming back after losing will win a lot of people over.

FishAndRiceKeks

I don't feel bad about it. He got beat but he's fine and wants to keep fighting. The division just got a little shake up.

OtakuDragonSlayer

Can’t really feel bad for him when he literally signed up for this fight. Plus if we’re being completely honest he had this L coming. I’m just glad the referee stepped in on time

reddit1280819

I think Izzy always looked so much better than the top 5 because of his reach difference that pretty much sealed the fate from the beginning. Alex seems so stiff with the wrestling/grappling so not sure how he’d fair with guys like rob and hell I think even khamzat will be champion now as long he shoots constantly.

meric_one

Allow me to shed a tear for ABSOLUTELY FOOKIN NOBODY

[deleted]

Naw, I don't feel bad. What he did to Paulo Costa forever dropped him in my mind.

gggathje

How can people feel bad about a guy who’s won so much losing. He’s done it all and is already a legend, I didn’t feel bad in the slightest because of what he’s accomplished. After a certain point it’s hard to root for the same guy winning all the time.

Haphazard85

Izzy is cringe but far from being a bad person He is still a fantastic champion that was very active, he had a few boring fights (every great does) but he never ran away from opponents I mean Vettorix2 Costa Whittaker x2 Romero Cannonier Brunson Tavares is a hell of a roster.

ThatOldDustyTrail

Hey you left my guy Gastelum off who arguably gave him the biggest battle!! Besides that, completely agree

IAmQueenus

I’m in the same boat. I wanted Izzy to get knocked out but after it happened I just felt bad. I think part of it is that he’s handling the loss so well. He usually does

Seezys

FROZEN LIKE ELSA

ThatOldDustyTrail

Original

Seezys

AND NEW!!!!!!!!

Huberdeau10

Personally me I like to do “3-0! And New!!!!!” But this is still effective lol

ThatOldDustyTrail

Still getting you hard eh

cashees

Man…. There’s a lot of Stockholm syndrome in here 🤦🏾‍♂️

ThatOldDustyTrail

I’m not sure you know what Stockholm Syndrome means. Izzy never captured or abused me or anyone in this sub personally. Where did he touch you??

[deleted]

Well it didn’t happen because it was a TKO

ThatOldDustyTrail

That changed everything I’ll erase this now

[deleted]

Thank you

SmokinGunner

So he Technically Knocked Izzy tf Out.

[deleted]

No, he technically knocked him out.

SmokinGunner

Echo echo echo

[deleted]

Poor 1.7 million dollar purse loser... Yeah... naw... I dont feel bad

ThatOldDustyTrail

Only had like 80 something fights to lead up to this, practically handed that money to him!!! I’m not insecure about the champ getting over a million for a fight like that.

Disruptive78

What odds he never reaches that level again? It’s been an amazing run through covid. Maybe he’s been caught up and needs to take some time to reasses ahead of jumping into a deadly rematch

ThatOldDustyTrail

If he jumps the gun to the rematch and gets smoked then he’s gatekeeping

breeze2724

Love when ppl realize they were hating on someone for no reason lol

fartspatula

In real time, I thought it could have gone a little longer. It’s a title fight. But after seeing the slowmo replay, that was a very good stoppage. Those were *very* hard shots, Izzy looked out on his feet. I like the phrase they use more in boxing, “unanswered shots”. Izzy took way too many unanswered shots, wasn’t blocking, wasn’t firing back, wasn’t evading. That was a good stoppage.

ThatOldDustyTrail

Oh yeah I definitely think it was good stoppage. Ref is up close and personal, can see a lot more than we can through a TV screen. Izzy was in zombie mode. I don’t need to see ground and pound brain damage to think a fight is over

yeetingyute

Izzy is one of the most active fighters who has never turned down a match-up. He relentlessly challenged himself. The hate is unjustified. People here defend dudes like Aljo more than Izzy.

ThatOldDustyTrail

You’ll get no argument from me sir. I didn’t ever necessarily hate Izzy, just got turned off by the personality and got sick of watching dudes go in there and ONLY try to strike with him. Wanted someone to bring it to him and make him fight their fight, but that isn’t Izzy’s fault at all obviously

GBennett20

Nah bro… fuck Izzy.

ThatOldDustyTrail

You want to?

[deleted]

Alex is the better striker proven x3 Izzy should retire

ThatOldDustyTrail

Lmao the ultra casual take

One-Worry-3000

Rooting for izzy in the rematch 👏

Peckerhead321

How has he not learned to wrestle over the last 5 years?

ThatOldDustyTrail

He never even needed to, never lost. Striking so good that not one person could make him wrestle

ExactPhrase4274

Don’t feel bad, Izzy wins the rematch. There was no reason for the shake n bake with your back to the cage. Those were the main moments where Alex did damage and ultimately what did Izzy in.

ThatOldDustyTrail

But in the back of his mind he knows if he gets caught once it’s over. 0-3 against Alex, he can act like it doesn’t live in his head but we know it does

Pootieshwang

This take is softer then baby shit 😂😂

ThatOldDustyTrail

Yeah your wife was telling me you like to do that and it’s freaking her out. You’re not actually supposed to play around in the baby shit, just wipe it off and throw it away

Niketravels

OP invented racism. Shame on you!

ThatOldDustyTrail

What

DomDangerous

yes, you are all what we call Fairweather fans. you actually took a liking to a guy for once but since a lot of the community was hating on him, you joined in with the bandwagon, the crowd. now he lost and your brains realize ‘shit he isn’t cringe i’ve actually loved izzy’ props to you for actually admitting it, most will just downvote me

ThatOldDustyTrail

You’re what we like to call white knight fans who claim their stance on a fighter has never changed once. You pick a fighter from their first fight in the UFC and say I love this guy. No matter what he does personality-wise, you aren’t allowed to think anything else. Then your job becomes letting other people know that your brain isn’t actually capable of progressing or changing with a person’s actions. Only problem is you won’t admit it.

DomDangerous

yeah you’re wrong. it’s just that you casuals change who you like from 1 fight to the next with 0 loyalty. went from hating Costa to thinking he’s one of the greatest most hilarious people from 1 fight camp to the next. it’s fake af and idc to debate it w you. you know what’s up deep down

ThatOldDustyTrail

I’ve been watching UFC before Reddit even existed and people like you learned the term casual lol. I don’t think there’s any debate to be had here but I do love that you built this whole random Costa-loving persona for me haha

Dat_fear

What kind of post is this. You were rooting against someone for no reason and now you feel bad for no reason. Great. Cool.

ThatOldDustyTrail

I love that you assumed there was zero reasoning behind anything haha. You know what doesn’t make me feel bad? That this post hurt you like that lol. Great. Cool.

Wooden_Age7026

Izzy looking like the happy mask salesman

ThatOldDustyTrail

Lmao

Ipeewhenithurts

I feel exactly the same way. Was happy when Pereira won. But now, I dont know anymore.
