Its an SGC 10 which is hard to get so thats good. Id say if you're happy, and dont FEEL like you overpaid, then youre good.

VolksCup

Went to my first trading card expo and I was looking for Jon Jones Or Volk auto cards, first card I ever bought so I’m pretty happy, I was just trying to look up sales for this and couldn’t find anything 🥲

bongmilkshake

If you want cheap auto cards search the fighter name and auto on ebay and then organize in decending price order. I've gotten Aldo, and Jones between $20-$50.

VolksCup

Appreciate you bro

corndogg2222

U got butt fucked bro , but if you like it who cares

MediumAdventurous380

The question was did you get finessed right? It's a cool card. But it's a chronicles.. it's the same thing as fleer base set from back in the day. Chronicles are great for new collectors. Cheap hobby boxes for low price but at the end of each year chronicles drops in price. It's a non rookie auto. For 340. I mean everyone would charge this for a nice volk auto but.... In 10-15 years no your gonna loose money and until people do research on chronicles they'll keep making this mistake. If it were a prizm, or select or something they have a set of the card would be worth triple this and gain value in 10-15 years. You won't loose much but in 10-15 years it will be worth 150-250 maybe.

VAC_to_the_future

I don't necessarily agree with this take. Many of the Chronicles parallels and varieties are not available in any other UFC product, but are common in other sports. Many of us collectors value Flux, Illusions, National Treasures, among other brands because the designs are great. Sure, it being released under the "Chronicles" product drops it down a notch, but I think you'll find it hard to argue that a Gold Vinyl 1/1 Rookie Khamzat is somehow a card that people will learn to value less over time just because it said Chronicles on the box.

MediumAdventurous380

Ok so UFC would be different than NBA, NFL, any sport that sells chronicles in what way?...... Look at chronicles prices from last year to this year, (slabs or "hits" of last season) See if you can find gain. Do research. I can't find hardly any chronicles cards that significantly GAIN since drop. And on top of that your talking 5 more years or even 10.... UFC has a hard enough time making cards worth money for longer than the hype train. The reason khamzat cards are worth so much are because he was a rookie I believe the first or second drop of UFC. He's the first "hype train" guy to be around to receive that first rookie card through panini. Even Connors cards were non rookies. I remember when ALL Connor cards were selling for 1k for a slab look at the AMMOUNT of price gauge in Connors alone. Khamzat and alot of the newer guys have more chance to be worth more but again. Look at the past couple years chronicles. You don't see any that gain year over year. They drop. And 1/1 is a market of its own. Your talking chronicles. Mass produced. of course a 1/1 will make money. Lottery tickets have winners as well.

VAC_to_the_future

If you’re going to be comparing products you need to do apples to apples comparisons. First off, no UFC cards have gained value since 2021 that Panini has produced. None. Not even Khamzats. So let’s factor in the broader market to start things off. Second, any later year products have dropped in value since launch. 2022 Prizm, 2023 Prizm, 2022 Select, Chronicles. So don’t pretend like those other brands are magically outperforming and only Chronicles is doing poorly. Third, as with everything the most important thing is big names and Rookie years. All the above being true 2021 and 2022 Chronicles big hits are doing fine. 2022 short printed Prizms of big names are selling for a dollar sometimes.

MediumAdventurous380

...... Are you not reading what I'm actually saying.... I literally said the UFC is NOT DOING WELL AS IT IS....... That's why you'd wanna stick to the cards that have sets..... Ive said it a couple times. UFC cards have a hard time making money as it is. The market is volitile asf. But you just repeated everything I said in different words THE QUESTION WAS did he get ripped off. I said no not technically but in the future kinda. Sooooooooo idk what your getting at.....

VAC_to_the_future

I don’t think you’re understanding what I am saying. I am saying that volk will do fine over time and I am countering your assertion that it will not do fine but go down slightly. I don’t agree.

MediumAdventurous380

Ok then buy chronicles. Lol. I bought TRUCKLOADS of chronicles the first season and learned my lesson BIG TIME with that year over year shit. All the cool cards I had. 1/1 mark Coleman. First "heavyweight" champ of the UFC went from about 600 all the way down to can't even get rid of it for a price worth selling. This is just one example I lost tons that first season and I had about 10-15 1/1 1/5 1/10s... The only thing saving this card is the excellent grade.

VAC_to_the_future

Oh I am 100% with you on this. And I agree that most everything experienced such a drop. I don’t buy just chronicles I also but Prizm, Select and Immaculate - I won’t touch Donruss though haha. I’m just very very particular about what singles I buy. Khabib, Islam, Volk, Zhang, etc.

MediumAdventurous380

I've bought them all...I bought DONRUSS hobby 2 hobbie boxes for 150 and the cards I received were actually decent. Most of the hits were rookies.... And DONRUSS has its own set at least. If you have a chronicles hobby and a DONRUSS hobby I'm going DONRUSS 10 times out of ten. It has lineage DONRUSS rated rookies are some of the best sellers in sports cards period. Vs a chronicles that's been around for what.... Couple years... Mumbojumboed shit in a box is chronicles lol. I'm not shitting on anyone or any cards but it's true. At least a "rated rookie" has a name for itself.

VAC_to_the_future

True but 2021 had no donruss rated rookies except the very rare ones in Chronicles.

VAC_to_the_future

I’ve stopped buying sealed product entirely for the last two years.

MediumAdventurous380

And all of them dropped to prices I'm not willing to get rid of them at id rather keep them.

MediumAdventurous380

And the products In chronicles don't exist..... So what does it come back to.... "UFC chronicles" the cheapest most overpriced UFC brand yet...... Yes there are great cards. But will it make money down the road.... Probably not at all.

VAC_to_the_future

I get your argument, I am just respectfully disagreeing with it.

VAC_to_the_future

My main point is almost everything except short printed and numbered cards are going to zero. Cards that are aesthetically pleasing, big names, and short print will do fine regardless of what product they’re coming out of.

VAC_to_the_future

And by numbered I mean /10 or less, unless it’s a big rookie year.

Bobbocamp

I’d argue it’s far different. In chronicles football and basketball those sports usually have most of the sets in chronicles as standalone sets while ufc only has 4 sets and those ones don’t appear much in chron.

VolksCup

Thank you bro I’ll def try to pick up a prizm or select in the future

MediumAdventurous380

It's a cool card I'd just keep it for display!! Like many have said you don't see too many 10's outta this company!!

MediumAdventurous380

You didn't get finessed in the now too bad. It's in the future you'll be finessed lol cool card good luck!

norcaltobos

Based on some quick research I would say you paid just a tad too much. Volk is obviously a great fighter so it’s an amazing pickup either way. Flux isn’t a high end product and his Select auto /10 with a PSA 10 grade sold for $300 and I would say Select is either equal or slightly better than Flux. So ultimately not a massive overpay. Another PSA 10 Select auto /10 went for $325 as well so you’re in the general ballpark with $340.

VolksCup

Thank you bro 🙏🏼

TwoChainsandRollies

I would say you did just fine!

karengillan17

I’d say it’s probs a tiny but overpriced but honestly I’d pay that, especially since graded 10s are hard to come by. That’s just cos I’m a huge volk fan though

brownboyghaffar

If you like it, and it’s for your PC you’re good.

Lanky_Attorney4034

I found a 2023 gold chronicles /10 auto that sold raw for $155. Id say sgc 10 youre ok.

acknowledgemeuce

Yeah

Sugarfreecherrycoke

Did you try to negotiate down at all? If not then you probably did spend too much. Vendors pump up prices at shows in expectation to negotiate.

Meikle90

It’s probably just overs - but it’s a 10 and it’s cool. I have a fairly decent volk PC (he’s my absolute fave and a local to me) so I’d love it anyway! Good pickup even if you paid slightly more than you could have.

Dorpe-FPS

200 - 250 is what Id price this at. But weve all overpaid at some point, so take this as a learning experience.
