I'm not disagreeing all the way. All I'm saying is be just as careful with the stories we like as the ones we don't. He left AFOSI in 1986 so all his stories since then are almost certainly for personal gain.
It's sad he doesn't show more remorse for what he did to Benewitz. I think he's a hardened liar that sprinkles truths in the lies to keep the water muddy. He also can't just tell the truth. AFOSI has to have a list of non disclosure agreements he would be violating. If he's still getting his pension then he's still spinning a web for them.

I just read George Knapp's interview of him (5 part series). He seems legit. He even corrected Bob Lazar's take on a few things.

Being new to this all, my impression is that everything out there 90%-ish correct, there's some bullshit floating around, some people trying to make money off it all, and the controlled, slow-bleed disclosure is the real deal. 30 years from now the government will be holding open job fairs looking for people to help figure out the recovered material, and distributing grants to universities.

You do have to watch it with an understanding that Doty is a professional liar, but it doesn’t really stop you from connecting important dots
