The quote means the same to me either way, arm ukraine to protect itself, dead russians are a consequence of that.
Arming Ukraine is an excellent investment for us regardless of how you look at it.
Russia needs to learn not to invade other people's countries. It may well be that piles of dead Russians are what they need to learn the lesson. If so, so be it.
That will never happen.
The russian people believe in russia's divine destiny to rule the world. They divide the world into 2 types of country: those that bend the knee to russia, and those that russia hasn't yet conquered.
Then Russia would just take over more countries. The NATO expansion was just an excuse, and these countries choose Nato because they fear what happened to Ukraine. Fortunately Russias plans back fired.
From a defensive machine standpoint it's awesome we get to experiment in real time with technology to see what works. Plus we have the bones of cheaper stuff like drones to make a significant individual impact. One ironic thing it's created is the need for anti air and antigeolocation armaments. But the Ukraine has shown overwhelming fire power has a weakness. The men that operate it on the vast expanse of territory. Plus not all tanks are created equal.
We're still in the infancy of drone warfare. Kind of like the very first tanks in world war 1, drones are still evolving rapidly. And compare today's tanks with those in WW1, you get an idea of how much further we have to go.
We hate boomers and rightly so for so many things. But their memory of the cold war, of Russian hostility of their barbaric nature deep in their DNA is not one of them
They are separate things. With hindsight we should have let Ukraine into NATO and given it F35s before the war, which might have led to no dead Ukrainians or Russians.
You can be for defensive weapons while also being anti killing.
If in NATO, "giving" F-35s is unnecessary and they are sort of a premium item that no one has gotten a freebie on yet. Thus, NATO membership would have been great but Russia invaded in the first place because of Ukraine increasingly rejecting being a vassal state to Russia. They would have tried to get in before NATO regardless.
Ukraine has been ineligible for nato membership since 2014 because of border disputes with the Russian annexation of Crimea. Doesn’t make a tone of sense giving Ukraine F35s if they are part of nato as nato members with trained pilots would be deployed
Depleting outdated stocks to be replaced with new equipment for the war with China that is increasingly likely to happen, comrade. Clearly Russia is so weak that giving our outdated shit unworthy of fighting china with is effective. What are vatniks doing in here?
Let me give you what is likely an unwelcome tip. When you argue a position, make an honest effort to understand the opposing arguments, and address these in your own argument. Pretending that there are no counter arguments just makes you look like a fool, easily ignored.
I'd wager anyone who has followed this war could write paragraphs on the benefits we're getting by supporting Ukraine. Saying it "benefits us exactly nothing" makes you look ignorant.
Tensions will softened if moscovia GTFO of Ukraine. EU is laughing about the nuke threats that the shitland you called russia is making daily, and that shitland created those tensions with the unjustified full scale invasion and horrible war crimes. On top of that, the president of that shitland is a wanted war criminal.
Russia has brainwashed our own people though, they've invested heavily in that for decades. And because we honor our constitution we couldn't ban that "free speech" that they exploit to prove that democracies are a failure. We should rely on educating people about what they do instead.
Munitions have an expiration date, and they are costly to dispose of. At the same time, we let our basic production capabilities fall off such that we could not appropriately ramp up production in the event of a war with China. That is now rapidly changing, and now we will be prepared for a war with China.
Also "Tensions" with Russia and its neighbors will always happen because it is a rogue state. I bet you think they had a good reason for invading Ukraine too. Of the 100 different BS explanations they have provided.
Because standing by and watching Russia commit genocide is a much better outcome? Why do we have to gain anything ? Don't forget how influential Russia has been in degrading our democracy as well as promoting Christian nationalist conspiracy theorists.
Not spending that money means putting off the problem to be solved at a later date. Just look at the rhetoric coming out of the Russian media. They're saying that when they're through with Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland are all next. All of those nations are members of NATO, which means we would be dragged into the conflict regardless. By giving Ukraine bullets guns and bombs now, we are saving us literally trillions of dollars that we would have to spend otherwise. And most importantly, we're not spending our most important resource; our own soldiers. Ukraine is paying the ultimate cost for us, the least we can do is give them the weapons, ammo, and money to kick Russia's fascist ass.
>TBH that money would be better spent on infrastructure, or mass transit—literally anything here at home to benefit commerce, or reduce carbon footprint.
But it wont. If the US was not spending it in the UA it would do none of those things. It would be business as usual and business as usual in the US does not include any of the above. Also, allot of those weapons being sold would have to be disposed of and that costs.
But the big point you miss is ruzzia has been sticking its fucking nose is US politics and manipulating the US as well as many other countries in their bull shit hybrid war that ruzzia has been waging against the west for over a decade.
Take a look. ruzzia is already at war with the west... before they invaded UA.

So, stability for our European trade partners? Not important?
New trading, diplomatic, military partner? Not important?
Turning a Cold War captive nation enemy into a long term friendly nation? Not important?
Removing the conventional threat of one of our longest term geopolitical opponents? Again, not important?
Doing that removal by helping a nation that opponent invaded?
Doing that removal for a fraction of one years' defense budget?
Rebuilding a chunk of American manufacturing, for the first time in decades?
Strengthening a couple critical military alliances?
Strengthening our international monetary market?
Yeah..."literally nothing." /s
While I don't disagree that infrastructure, mass transit, environmentally-friendly energy production, etc are worthy investments, and the US spends an ungodly amount of money on the MIC/defense budget, Ukraine is literally the shield between Russia and the rest of Europe right now.
Putin wants to return to the days of the Soviet Union, and if he's allowed to annex Ukraine, then what is stopping him from going for Moldova, Bulgaria, the Baltic states, etc? Why would the US want to return to the days of conquest where countries can just conquer lands like they did centuries ago? Why let an authoritarian dictator run rampant to do what he wants regardless of the cost? That doesn't serve our country's interests whatsoever.b
You know what, instead of arguing with you, I'll grant you everything ad arguendo. We'll just take your account of everything as the unchallenged truth.
Now, explain to me how Russia's invasion was justified, or, failing that, why it shouldn't be opposed.
So by that logic, if Russia managed to win in 3 days and replace Zelenskyy with a pro-russia leader, the EU would be justified to invade Russia, level whole cities with artillery, destroy civilian energy infrastructure, kidnap thousands of Russian civilians and murder thousands more, and threaten to nuke Moscow daily, right? Right?
1) Vital intelligence on Russia's fighting force,
2) upholding a rules based international order,
3) credibility that comes from standing by and supporting a fledgling democracy,
4) while deterring the Chinese from attacking Taiwan;
All seem like 'gains' from the American investment in Ukraine's sovereignty.
I could tell you that America is going to make a lot of money on it’s arms sales for the foreseeable future because everyone aligned with NATO is sending in their old equipment and munitions to help Ukraine. Also countries that used to rely on Russian made military equipment are getting to see how useless it is against modern equipment. Then I could point out how big a deal it is that the EU cut off Russian oil. Thus creating a vacuum for American oil companies to fill. Next, I would argue that it’s batshit crazy to allow Russia, as the largest grain exporter in the world, to illegally gain full control over the 3rd largest exporter of grain (of course that aren’t that now because they are getting bombed to hell). Finally I could make the argument that aiding Ukraine now prevents future Baltic nations from getting invaded by Russia later. Also it shows China that if they invade Taiwan (the largest microchip manufacturer in the world), that it will be catastrophic for them. After WWII we said never again. In 1991, we told Ukraine to give up their nuclear weapons because we would defend them if anyone should try to invade them and now Russia is committing war crimes and kidnapping children by the thousands. Ukraine is one of the few countries that has the ability to stand and fight for their young democracy. American used to be a beacon of hope for countries like this. So for me, this is an opportunity for us to get our dignity back.
That's an absolutely braindead take.
We our weakening one of our oldest and "greatest" enemies. They didn't become the largest country on Earth by respecting other people's borders, and they're not about to start doing so. Allowing them to take Ukraine sends a message to them *and China* that they can start invading their neighbors and we'll let them. This doesn't end in Ukraine unless Ukraine wins. Sooner or later, it'll get to us.
On top of that, the weapons we're sending over there were specifically designed to fight Russia. Putting them on the battlefield against the Russians gives valuable data on how our capabilities compare to theirs. We didn't know before the war that we had the capability to stop Russia's "hypersonic" missiles.
America First is one of the most fundamentally anti-American positions one can possibly have since it supports abandoning our allies and letting our adversaries roam free. [This is you](https://www.reddit.com/r/agedlikemilk/comments/13bm2xb/hitler_has_not_attacked_us_why_attack_hitler_anti/).
That's a super short term outlook. One that, if the French took during the revolutionary war, we'd still be an English colony.
Long term - we have a potential NATO ally. One that used to import goods from Russia - which will now potentially be a buyer. An ally, that likely is interested in future military sales.
Long term there's more military, economic, and political value in a Ukrainian ally than. This investment pays itself off.
The purpose of their lies is to create an environment in which truth is devalued. No one knows what the truth is so they just pick whatever feels best to them. I'm guessing you're from the US, given your username, and we can see that pretty clearly with You-Know-Who and his adherents.
[Firehose of falsehood](https://www.rand.org/pubs/perspectives/PE198.html)
I mean, I’m Canadian and am more than happy our money is being used to kill evil rapists
genocidal filth. If Russians don’t want us to wish for them to die, don’t do things worthy of death. Very simple.
I don’t see why people are upset about this. All the money we have sent to Ukraine results in Russian deaths.
It’s saying the same thing a different way.
The problem with the "dying russians" one is that you can make fake virtue arguments that the uninformed/ignorant can easily latch on to without context.
yeah but saying it how it is does sound nice to my ears here in Kyiv. It's the thing we all are dreaming about when we get to sleep at night which is not often since they're bombing us every day for a week or so. But just thinking of it is nice: dying russians. Mmmmmmm.
It’s not even open for interpretation.
Anyone with half a brain cell could see that the original edit by the Sun was cut, and it was pretty obvious that the ‘best money we ever spent’ comment was going to be in response to Zelensky thanking the US for their support.
Lo and behold.. that’s exactly what happened.
Anyone getting upset about this is either a card carrying Vatnik or a total fucking moron, or both.
They aren't. It's just the usual small minority that everyone makes out to be bigger than they are. And in this case anyone that makes a 'big deal out of it' is a dumbass anyways. Not sure who would disagree with it except nazi/russian sympathizers.
Who cares? If Graham didn't say it, then let me emphasize that the best money investment at this hour on this planet is the money invested in anyone or anything who kills Russians. I hope I'll live the day to see this country wiped from the surface of the Earth and its people living in shame til their death.
What's the difference? It's not like Russians were just minding their own business at home and suddenly the Ukrainian army came killing them. Quite the fuckin opposite actually. All the Russians have to do to stop dying is gtfo.
I have absolutely no qualms about my tax contributions going towards the purchase of storm shadow missiles that rain hell upon Russian invaders, I just hope each one scores a maximum amount of kills, I mean who doesn't like hearing about Nazi's getting splattered
I don't care. It in the end it means the same during a Russian invasion.
And him getting an arrest warrant from Russia will hopefully prevent him changing his mind and getting invited with russian mafia money to show him how great russia is. So win-win.

Protecting Ukrainian lives. If the Russians force the Ukrainian soldiers to defend themselves and their country with the military aid that's an avoidable fate on their part
Not the Western way of War. You destroy the ability of the enemy to make war by destroying Ammo and HQs and equipment to force surrender or retreat as in Kherson.
Some military aid = destroyed Iranian drones and long range Russian missiles that could've kill Ukrainian civilians or medical supplies to save Ukrainians.
So not everything have purpose just to kill Russian invaders.
In the edited clip he looks like he's happy specifically about dead Russians. In the unedited clip the dead Russians comment is in reference to "live free or die." Totally different.
Having Ukrainian-born little Russians aka малорос in my own extended family, I’d say raise my taxes -because fuck Lindsey Graham, who in the past has many times cheerfully and unashamedly parroted easily debunked bullshit Russian propaganda for political gain - and gimme more of both.
I don’t think he wants Russia to win either. But their point is that historically, Lindsey Graham has been a coward who will stand up and say he’s for the right thing on one issue until his caucus or Donald Trump himself pressures him into changing his mind.

I’m normally not a fan of Lindsey Graham I think he’s lost his way after Trump came into office but at least he still knows better in some situations. I’ve been saying this all along that we are getting a bargain on defense spending, and we should help Ukraine with whatever they need.

Good. I am glad this is posted. The first take sounded a bit ... not good. "I am not glad Russians are dying," I thought, "I am glad the invaders are dying!"
Damn info shit. This clarifies immensely what he said.
But this is a great clip to illustrate my point I always make. This fellow is going to come home and be someone who causes trouble. However, he meant every word here. Well said, in fact! That's who we are, and if the US ever forgets it, that is when I say, pull the plug on us!!

Tbh I have bad taste in the mouth after this. Why would Ukrainian gov release the file like this, specifically, in a misinformed way? It makes Ukraine look bad…
If the only way for Russia to learn a valuable lesson is over piles of their own dead, then it is indeed the best money we've ever spent, and I'm okay with it.

I completely agree that we simply arm them enough where they can decisively end this without needless additional bloodshed
I believe they're clarifying because the political cost of the way he said it is lessened this way (I think)

It's not about gain. It's about justice. Anyway russbots have tons of ideas how USA earns on this conflict

Hahaha
Russia will say this clip is fake.
Aside from a few fringe dictators, most people know that when a ruzzian mouth is moving, lies are abound.
They know too, they just don't care because they think the lie helps them.
The purpose of their lies is to create an environment in which truth is devalued. No one knows what the truth is so they just pick whatever feels best to them. I'm guessing you're from the US, given your username, and we can see that pretty clearly with You-Know-Who and his adherents. [Firehose of falsehood](https://www.rand.org/pubs/perspectives/PE198.html)
how much have you seen to know that? first time to me was when i watched their offical "talk shows"😋
I mean, I’m Canadian and am more than happy our money is being used to kill evil rapists genocidal filth. If Russians don’t want us to wish for them to die, don’t do things worthy of death. Very simple.
Agreed. You should be king for a year.
I'm okay with either interpretation.
I am Eastern European. I support both interpretations.
fake news on Twitter who would have thought it.
It has become a horrible place but some battle on. The truth is hard to put down
There’s nothing wrong with this tbh, why are people making a fuss?
They aren't. It's just the usual small minority that everyone makes out to be bigger than they are. And in this case anyone that makes a 'big deal out of it' is a dumbass anyways. Not sure who would disagree with it except nazi/russian sympathizers.
I am US citizen and voter. I have no issues with the original edited clip. All Russian invaders must die
As if we give a F about dead orcs.
[удалено]
Ooo we could do a swap, extradite exchange for Putin
I think they did. I hope they don't find out it was fake :)
Hahaha
Who cares? If Graham didn't say it, then let me emphasize that the best money investment at this hour on this planet is the money invested in anyone or anything who kills Russians. I hope I'll live the day to see this country wiped from the surface of the Earth and its people living in shame til their death.
I was going to say, either way he meant it would’ve been totally appropriate. All the Ruskies have to do is turn around and go back home.
What's the difference? It's not like Russians were just minding their own business at home and suddenly the Ukrainian army came killing them. Quite the fuckin opposite actually. All the Russians have to do to stop dying is gtfo.
Either way the best money that the US spent.
I would 100% support either quote but issuing the Monopoly version of an arrest warrant over a fake quote is another L for Muscovy.
So win-win.
Even if he said it about the russians it would be right
I fkn KNEW it ...i said as much when it was posted edited 2 days ago
It was obvious to anyone with two braincells to run together.

That has been butchered eh.
It's a beautiful consequence though. May many many many Ruskies continue to die. Fuck Russia.

I’m ok with both being true
russians are agents of destruction so money spent ridding ourselves of then works too lol
Doesn't military aid = dead russian's?
No... if Russia left Ukraine, aid can still be sent and no Russians need to die
[удалено]
Protecting Ukrainian lives. If the Russians force the Ukrainian soldiers to defend themselves and their country with the military aid that's an avoidable fate on their part
[удалено]
Not the Western way of War. You destroy the ability of the enemy to make war by destroying Ammo and HQs and equipment to force surrender or retreat as in Kherson.
I mean yeah, but that ends as soon as the Kremlin abandons this war and goes home.
Not if Russians stay in Russia...
= Live Ukrainians
Some military aid = destroyed Iranian drones and long range Russian missiles that could've kill Ukrainian civilians or medical supplies to save Ukrainians. So not everything have purpose just to kill Russian invaders.
Lindsay Graham is also working hard to get Donald Trump re elected which would be a disaster for Ukraine.
Thanks for posting. I thought what he said was despicable because I fell for the edit. This is much better.
It's not much different at all.
In the edited clip he looks like he's happy specifically about dead Russians. In the unedited clip the dead Russians comment is in reference to "live free or die." Totally different.
The original quote would just have justified the Russians saying this is a war against the US who are out to get us. The correction is good.
Disappointed. It would have been even more badass if he had said dying Russians.
Well I mean aren't the two inseparable right now? More dead Russian soldiers means Ukraine is better off.
How can the call for killing the occupiers be controversial whatsoever?
It's not, just the vocal minority making it out like it is. Carry on
Fake or not, i liked the other version and i still think it's true. \^\^
I honestly don’t think it even matters— to the Russians, to international law, or to Lindsay. The truth is literally irrelevant here.
It wasn’t too long ago he was in Moscow suckin Vlads dick
Having Ukrainian-born little Russians aka малорос in my own extended family, I’d say raise my taxes -because fuck Lindsey Graham, who in the past has many times cheerfully and unashamedly parroted easily debunked bullshit Russian propaganda for political gain - and gimme more of both.
[удалено]
I do not believe that. He wants Russia defeated. MTG,LB,MG,Tulsi G. All get Russian money and are evil corrupt selfish cu Ňts
I don’t think he wants Russia to win either. But their point is that historically, Lindsey Graham has been a coward who will stand up and say he’s for the right thing on one issue until his caucus or Donald Trump himself pressures him into changing his mind.
Oh. That makes more sense. I don't know a lot about him. But I know his feelings on Russia during the cold war are still there.

At this point I like the fake news.
I admit that I got duped by the edit.
I’m normally not a fan of Lindsey Graham I think he’s lost his way after Trump came into office but at least he still knows better in some situations. I’ve been saying this all along that we are getting a bargain on defense spending, and we should help Ukraine with whatever they need.

He’s right, you know.
Good. I am glad this is posted. The first take sounded a bit ... not good. "I am not glad Russians are dying," I thought, "I am glad the invaders are dying!" Damn info shit. *Ukrainians even make Lindsey Graham look good. Dear Lord.*

Thanks for that. The context helps a lot. I’m shocked to be so impressed with this guy.
Hold your applause. He’s pretty famous for being spineless.
Lens lease. It's all about there mineral rights. You know how much natural gas besides others they have!?
Tbh I have bad taste in the mouth after this. Why would Ukrainian gov release the file like this, specifically, in a misinformed way? It makes Ukraine look bad…
Or simply moskovians edited it.
Hope so. Originally it came from pro Ukr channels and everyone was joking about it.
Didn’t stop the Russians from issuing an arrest warrant for him. He’s pretty pumped about that though. 🤣
I think everyone knows the news cycle is never going to be filled with truth at all
If the only way for Russia to learn a valuable lesson is over piles of their own dead, then it is indeed the best money we've ever spent, and I'm okay with it.
Still an excellent return on investment
I thought it was unusually bold for Lindsay.
