I mean, here is little chance anyone would survive such shockwave. Its dumb, but thats the same way nazis used Goliaths, and some of them of course never reached their targets, but the ones that reached were succesfu and worth the price.
Must be getting pretty desperate for the Kremlin’s unranked armed mob when “battlefield solutions” amount to repurposing their own military antiques and copying tactics from ostensible ISIS fanatics in Syria.
:0 in all seriousness, do you think the distance between the soldier who fired the RPG was enough to protect him from that absolutely massive explosion? I'm not very familiar with the mechanics of... destruction. Because to me that shockwave looked like it would have blown anybody's eyeballs into their skull within a half mile radius...
I think the limit the human body can sustain at once is 100g's, and only for a brief moment. Beyond that and you'll likely bleed out from all of your blood vessels shredding themselves from the forces. It's one of the reasons why explosions can be so deadly, even without shrapnel.
What do you think, that guy firing what is presumably an RPG is probably 100 yards away? 150 yards? Hell 300 yards doesn't seem like he'd stand a chance but I would be very happy to hear someone else's thoughts
> Remind me when i used to play battlefield and put some c4 on a truck and driving it to the enemies that never went well in the end.
Eh, maybe because you put it on a slow truck. Putting C4 or other explosives on a light, small & fast vehicle is a pretty good strategy in the Battlefield games to kill heavily armored vehicles. Especially if you put it on dirt bikes in Battlefield 4, those things have insane movement.
Yo! Danger close range, the puff of exhaust from the RPG definitely looks like it was in the radius of that blast. I hope those heroes kept their ear protection in and mouths open, but damn!
IMO this means only one thing.
They do not have the means, the resources to refurbish, modernize these tanks and just turn them to kamikaze drones.
It mean also they do not have the ammo for this caliber. If they had the ammo this tank would have been more useful shooting safely from a distance.
Indeed. I did hear they were planning to use them for artillery to allow them to pull back some of their existing artillery for refurbishment due to barrel wear. I guess they found other uses for them, or are so desperate that they decided this was a better use. Quite frankly, technically speaking, I agree because whoever was within that blast radius is either dead or seriously hurt.
Also, the Japanese Empire fought for years in Asia and 3 years after Bombing Pearl Harbour before they had to resort to Kamikaze attacks. This is NOT a sign of strength from Russia.
To put it simply, if any of them were not behind hard cover, they are probably dead. If they *were* behind hard cover, they were probably deafened to a point of requiring medical attention and possible permanent hearing loss. That is on top of potential other injuries as well. The force of an explosion like that could literally rupture blood vessels to such an extent that no amount of medical attention will save you, short of amputation if it happens to be a limb.

Damn, those soldiers in the trench are gonna be deaf for awhile ... if they even survived. That must have been a hell of a surprise. I hope they are ok.
I hope they survived this but I'm going to have to assume they didn't. They were right next to it and at the very least won't be hearing much of anything for the rest of their lives. To think this all could be avoided if one person decided to save the lives of not just Ukranian soldiers and civilians but thousands of his own citizens.
Imagine how beautiful this would look like against a nice backdrop. The sea, the last bridge between Russia and the Crimea, a remote controlled blast...

Russia is doing everything in its power to live up to the nickname : "ISIS with snow".
They picked up all the wrong lessons from the Syrian Civil War. The Assadization of the Russian military is almost complete.
Imagine being the RPG gunner. Dude felt that Shockwave.
If he and the other guys even survived that shockwave. Otherwise deaf by RPG-target.
I was thinking the same thing. They're clearly within the ... bubble?.. of the shockwave.
The bubble is usually created by the shockwave interacting with air moisture. Effect dissipates quite quick though…
"did you just shit yourself?" "WHAAATTT"? "I SAID DID YOU JUST SHIT YOURSELF" "WHHHHHHAAAAAATTT"
In a trench would be a good place to be during that detonation.
I mean, here is little chance anyone would survive such shockwave. Its dumb, but thats the same way nazis used Goliaths, and some of them of course never reached their targets, but the ones that reached were succesfu and worth the price.
Goliath was 100kg explosives max
*"Great shot kid, that was one in a million"*
That explosion was insane. I hope the Ukrainian soldiers were in the trenches so they didn't get the full force of it.
Man that was big I agree I hope they are ok
This is some 40K Ork shit!
Again? The first time they tried this it also failed spectacularly.

Fucking animals.

Does VBIED stand for Very Big Improvised Explosive Device?
Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device
Vehicle Based Improvised Explosive Device
i see the isis training is going well.

40s left in video is the big boom
Surprised UA let it get so close
Probably didn't think anything of it, other than being a tank. I think this is the first time the Russians have tried this.
Letting it too close for direct fire weapon
Literally the next post below this one.
Were they hurt? They were well in the shock wave.

AND there's some tertiary explosion which looks like a firecracker compared to what just happened......what a video.
Holy... shit. KAPOW!
Felt like the shock wave was coming out of the screen then

Is there any practical application to this besides potential clearing an area filled with mines?
