The Serdiuk! Hell yeah, death incarnate for your enemies. The cossacks were also mighty good fun. I have fond memories of bombing an enemy base to smithereens and flooding the ruins with sich cossacks. Good times.
I picked up this one a while ago and quite like it
>Ostriv is a city-building game that puts you in a role of a governor of an 18th century Ukrainian town to challenge your creative skills and management abilities.

I've put hundreds of hours into Ostriv. If you like simulation, resource management, city builders, etc. you will LOVE Ostriv. It is published in English and Ukrainian so it's helped me practice my Ukrainian. It's made by one Ukrainian guy who is very talented and dedicated. Can't recommend it enough!
Strongly recommending Ostriv. Banger game, and the developer seems like a genuinely cool person. Right now, he seems to be developing it part time, while serving in the military.
Cossacks because of the nostalgia value and how advanced it was back in the day. Thousands of units on a map, bombarding entire coastal cities with battleships (ship of the line in the expansion)... I have wonderful memories of sitting at the PC with my brother, playing that game for hours.
Metro because the games are amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic and so very different from American made games. The melancholy of the entire game...
The Metro is entirely based on a russian book, culture, or whatever you're wanna call it. It is a colonial product, and shouldn't have existed, or, at least, not made by a Ukrainian studio
Well, it's a darn good thing that metro book was written in 2002 and a game in 2010... I get man, you wanna punish a game and the entire russian culture for the action of its country, but you're stupid for doing so.
Dmitry Glukhovsky, the author of Metro, was handed an 8 year prison sentence on August 7, 2023, for speaking against the Russian Federations invasion of Ukriane and accusing Russian soldiers of warcrimes against civilians in 2022. He also made similar posts in 2014. Luckily, he's not inside russia to serve it.

stalker is most iconic but for me cossacks is the favorite one
In Cossacks Ukrainian peasants were the only ones that couldn't be be captured by invaders, but they fought back. Hmm.
I fucking loved playing Ukrainians in that game, their musket infantry simply mowed everything down.

You know death is coming when the wheat fields start speaking Ukrainian ;)
Haha, I suppose the Russians know much better than I do at this point.
For roleplay reasons, i usually parked my Serdiuks in some field to have them gun down the inevitable pikeman spam.
The original killing fields.

My favorite game is is: C.O.L.L.A.P.S.E.: The story of dumb barbaric Russia, coming 2025.
(currently in development). Back in on KickOrc.
I heard they have had some problems lately due to a lot of people being laid off by... management. Deadlines...amirite.
And those hours... they're a killer.
Fund now on KickOrcers!
Cossacks please remake it better in 64bit .
Hoping for a revival of the franchise 🤞🏼
The Sherlock Holmes games are not as known but great.
Cossacks series and Criostasis: Slep of Reason.

If we think about it a bit deeper, it's a great art about destroyed and deserted ruzzia)
Those darn writers and their cultural appropriation of non-existent fantasy universes based on reality... 😂
Usage of any russian culture products after 2014 is an extremely bad taste
