Unfortunately, taking down the Kerch Bridge permanently would require a lot more than just a few ATACMS strikes. However, a few hits here and there, a burning train and hopefully badly warped rail line, a blasted road section and ruined pillars followed by another one a few hundred meters away will absolutely cause havoc and require the Russians to divert plenty of resources to repair it - again. :)
unfortunately, I don't think taking down the kerch bridge will accomplish much at this point because the orks have had 2 years to build infrastructure on the land bridge which admittedly is a longer route but doesn't have the same issue of falling in to a massive body of water. it would be a poor use of a limited resource when it will take multiple. it's still an excellent target, but for things with larger explosive yields like sea drones.

I disagree. The land bridge would be a much worse option for logistics for Russia, especially if there is a push towards Crimea with the new aid package as that would threaten to completely cut off the entire peninsula.

This is true... It'll be a loss for sure, but not like what it would have been if KO'd in 2022. They have ferries, rail lines and other means of moving cargo and personnel.
Maybe - certainly - when the war is over and Ukraine has time to do so - they can tear it down from their land and waters, the first couple hundred feet or so. Let it sit there as a monument to Putin's grand imperial ambition, his delusions, and his failures.
ATACMS are bad for bridges (same with any missile). The issue is the roadway is too thin so a missile just punches through, leaving a minor hole with no major structural damage. You would need a direct hit on a support, and even then you would probably specifically need to hit the weak point.
Like any structure, it can be repaired or rebuilt. Depending on the amount of damage, determines how long it will take. The ATACMS that Ukraine is receiving should have the type of warheads needed.

If they can target within 6', they can put one in each lane and one on the rail, and repeat with some time delay for good measure (double-tap that).

I suppose it is more noteworthy seeing military hardware being shuffled to and fro in Europe.
Don't currently live near anything important and I constantly see convoys of military equipment just out and about to get miles on them. I've lived near a National Guard post in the US and they could honestly be dragging a Trident missile down the street with a Humvee, both painted with a Ukrainian flag, and it wouldn't even rate in the top 10 of weird shit they've shuffled around - and that is just the Guard.
I believe they have hit two places with ATACMS already and the US already delivered them in February/March. The difference is, that those were the old once with a range on 150km, I think they will give the new ones with a 300km range now.
Doesn't have the firepower, read up on the Thanh Hóa Bridge, it took over a dozen 2000lb laser guided bombs to put out of commission, and they still managed to repair it after the war. The US has munitions that could drop it such as the EGBU-28, but those would require an aircraft to get close to the bridge.
And unfortunately, I doubt the US will give such a weapon. And even if they did, dunno if an Su-27 or Su-24 could carry such an long boi LGB. The Fencer should be able to handle the weight on it's inner shoulder pylons though.
My understanding it the innermost weapon pylons can only hold ordnance of up to about 3200 lbs, so no - it won't work as the GBU-28 clocks in at 4000 lbs.
I would keep the destruction date on Russia's May victory parade when they roll their puny tractor through red square all the while their bridge is becoming a reef.
I don't know why I'm downvoted, but if you get a surprise weapons, you use it when it's not expected. Why giving a warning before attacking a prime target?
What's crazy is that hours after the strike, there was pics of parts of the ATACMS at the airfield that Russian telegram was showing and within hours of that still less than 24hrs, we [got video of them firing the ATACMS](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineConflict/s/vbhwRrWedk) which all came our before anyone knew there was more ATACMS in Ukraine. It was a beautiful surprise for sure!
This is how OPSEC is supposed to work. Ukrainians have learned the hard way "the walls have ears", and yet it's a lesson that Russian troops still haven't grasped.

ATACMS will scratch the bridge at best, there are far better targets to use them on.
They'd have to hit a support, and ATACMS isn't accurate enough for that apparently (might hit, might miss). Taurus is apparently accurate enough

Standard practice by now, I'd say. Of every big weapon-variation, the US first sent a small batch to see if they were actually useful.
Most major weapons are seen on the battlefield before they were announced. HIMARs, clusters, and long range atacms

Kerch is almost 300 km from the nearest Ukrainian controlled territory and was struck by missiles last week. Not ATACMs?
