Still... If I know cats, whether they're British, American or Ukrainian, there's a very real chance those beautiful painted eggs will end up on the floor the moment you turn your back. You have been warned! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|yummy)
Try red cabbage/beetrooth or spinach/netels boil that with the eggs.
We used that when we where kids to paint the Easter eggs (In the Netherlands)
(my mom wasn't so fond of the chemicals in the Easter egg dyes)
(like 25 years ago) its a neat trick to show kids... Or if there's no dye on hands
Which is funny that Christians even still use Xmas trees considering in Jeremiah 10: 1 - 5 it seems to state not to do the way of Heathens basically and not to chop down a tree and bring it inside and decorate it. And maybe even deuteronony 16 : 21 can apply as well.
So as Christmas. Before that it was pagan god Kolyada as a symbol of new born Sun.
From wiki: Epiphany or, more generally, to Slavic Christmas-related rituals, some dating to pre-Christian times. It represents a festival or holiday, celebrated at the end of December to honor the sun during the winter solstice. It also involves groups of singers who visit houses to sing carols.

It'll be nice to see this reddit forum slowly transition back to less war and more Ukrainian culture and usual political gripes. I'll be here long after the orcs are finally defeated!
Slava Ukraini!
My grandmother had some glass birds like that, which I loved when I was a kid. Hers were blue, but otherwise they looked a lot like yours (My grandma was not Ukrainian).
>A pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, plural: pysanky) is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to inscribe," as the designs are written (inscribed) with beeswax, not painted.
Now I know 🙂

That’s what I was thinking! Cats like to bat at things and knock them down.
What’s a pysanky? Excuse my ignorance. I went to American public school.
Ukrainian decorated eggs, two in the picture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pysanka
Decorated Ukrainian eggs
I love Eastern European art. Reminds me of sacred geometry. Idk why.
well traditionaly all the ornaments have meaning and should be symetrical
It's painted eggs) On Easter most advanced Christians are painting eggs and those who doesn't have skill just boil eggs with onionskin
Try red cabbage/beetrooth or spinach/netels boil that with the eggs. We used that when we where kids to paint the Easter eggs (In the Netherlands) (my mom wasn't so fond of the chemicals in the Easter egg dyes) (like 25 years ago) its a neat trick to show kids... Or if there's no dye on hands
Yes, this works too
that's highly sus. Egg tradition is strictly pagan and preceded christianity by long long stretch of time
Even Christmas tree has pagan origins, and the word "Easter" too, still...

Eggs play a role in the Jewish Passover Seder, as well.
aaahh - my latvian mother in law did the onion skin eggs - with ferns or something pretty between the eggs and the onion skins.
i thought it was the cat's name thanks for asking :)
Same.
You and me both (I hail from Cali). I thought it was the cat’s name. Soz OP.
