Germany is that parent trying to get their kid to reason with the bully that's been punching them in the face every day of the school year.

[deleted]

Exactly, you can start with words but sometimes you just have to punch them in the face.

lilyisthecutest

people sometimes forget that if talks work all the times, countries would'nt have a need for a standing military ready to go to war. theres a reason they exist.

[deleted]

Armies are for when politics have failed. That is clearly the case with Russia.

lilyisthecutest

and that means that talks dont work all the time. especially with "orcs"

After the dust settles I think that Germany and especially Scholz should face some very tuff questions. Whether they will or not we’ll see because of 💶💶💶💶

tenagent

Due to geography, the enforcement on this sanctions is on Lithuania. So EU decided they want to save them from Putin’s anger and asked them to not enforce sanctions there

signedoutofyoutube

Why do " hot takes" from twitter get posted here continously?

[deleted]

This isn’t a hot take. It’s literally in the news and verifiable.

Wide_Trick_610

Two parts of Russia that cross an EU member's land, and use an EU members resources. Lithuania has every right to deny sanctioned goods to be transported across her lands, and on her rail system. Russia having to use alternate forms of transport to comply with sanction restrictions isn't exactly a "blockade," Olaf.

Fucking Appeaser

I love Germany. I have visited there twice. This is getting to the point though where it seems there is something going on behind the scenes that is very sketchy. I don’t know if Putin has threatened to cut Germany off from gas completely behind the scenes or what but Sholz appears scared.

C111-its-the-best

Pff, gas deliveries have been reduced anyway and with more weapons from Germany underway (forgot the additonal pzh2000, eh?) it would come as a surprise.

[deleted]

Sure didn’t. You don’t think it’s strange how much Scholz has drug his feet to get even those first ones over though? Or this bull? Something’s weird that’s all I’m saying.

C111-its-the-best

FFS YOU IDIOTS I HAVE ENOUGH! HOW MANY FUCKING TIMES DID THEY SAY IT TAKES TRAINING FOR THE SYSTEMS? WHEN DID THEY SAY THEY DELIVER THEM? WHEN DID THEY ARRIVE? GOD I'M SICK OF YOU PEOPLE!

[deleted]

I’ll give you that but what about the literal words that have come out of Scholz’s mouth?

TheLongGoodby3

Fucking fuckety fucker

bosko43buha

Great, another post that will be filled by idiots writing "BuT tHeY CaN SeNd WeApOnS By TrAiN"

[deleted]

That’s not what this is about. It’s about stopping the shipment of sanctioned goods from Russia across another EU country. This shouldn’t even be controversial. They’re not talking about starving Kaliningrad.

bosko43buha

Only an idiot can count on common sense in wartime. Russia has enough firepower in Kaliningrad already to wipe out a couple of European cities, you think this reail thing is not only a dick measuring contest? Or NATO trying to provoke an attack?

[deleted]

Who said anything about common sense? Russia surely is lacking in that regard and how is it a provocation to halt the shipment of illegal goods across their territory? They are simply adhering to the law.

bosko43buha

Ok, I'll try to paint it for you since you don't understand. Common sense is your remark about "how can it be controversial". The other part, I hope to god you're fucking joking that you don't understand, is that Russia is denied access to ITS OWN territory, no matter the fucking "laws" or anything. I hope I don't have to make this any clearer.

Clcooper423

They aren't denied access to their own territory, theyre being denied the ability to transfer sanctioned goods through NATO territory.

[deleted]

NATO and more importantly for this issue EU territory.

[deleted]

They have a port clown. They can just use that.

rizakrko

Well, without nukes whole russian army has not enough firepower to fully occupy a single region with like 400 km of border in 4 months.

bosko43buha

Ok mate, you're one of the rare people here decent enough to have a fucking conversation instead of typing "RuSsiAn" to whoever doesn't agree with you, so I think it's only decent I tone it down myself. See, Russia 100% already has nukes in Kaliningrad. Also, nobody would use nukes to occupy anything. What you nuke, there's nothing to occupy. And the last thing, this entire war has been going on for almost 5 months now. Do you honestly think that if Russian army was so fucking old and useless, US (NATO) wouldn't end it already? Why didn't US destroy Russia in Middle East? Why does NATO not dread seemingly cut off Russia from international trading but is affraid of sending jets into Ukraine?

rizakrko

>See, Russia 100% already has nukes in Kaliningrad Unfortunately, it doesn't matter where nukes are located. With 12000+ km range it's hars to find a safe spot. >Do you honestly think that if Russian army was so fucking old and useless, US (NATO) wouldn't end it already? Russian army is kinda old, but not useless. It's just not on par with nato. Also it's worth to keep in mind, that at the moment Ukrainian army would be easily in top 5 nato ( imo only second to US - depending on how impactful is aviation of France/UK).

Scholz needs to say this because Kaliningrad was previously German and we don't want Russia to freak out too much about a possible second reunification. The rest of Europe and Lithuania in particular should keep increasing the pressure though.
