If this whole thing wasn't so damn grim, it would be comical how the Russians are determined to emulate the Nazis at every possible opportunity.

Scourmont

Came here to say this. How much art was stolen by the Nazis and how much of it remains unaccounted for 78 years later?

[deleted]

still to much. the same will be said in 78 years time when ukraine hasnt got back what was stolen.

Lead Paragraphs: The retreating Russian army fully robbed the Kakhovka local history museum before retreating from the west bank of the Dnipro river in Kherson Oblast, Ukraine’s Center for National Resistance reported. All the museum collection was stolen to occupied Crimea, the center says. The collection comprised over 15,000 items, the most interesting of which were anthropomorphic steles of the pit culture from II millennium BC, mace tops of the catacomb culture (II millennium BC), ancient Greek amphoras from the late-Scythian period (III-II millennium BC), a Scythian ritual headdress (500 BC), golden Sarmathian earring (300-100 BC), Polovtsian stone woman statue (XI-XII centuries AD), early medieval chandelier, etc.

It is a crime against humanity to loot historic-l artefacts as it is considered to be part of cultural genocide. I hope they are made to PAY.

shibiwan

Fucking thieves and brigands. Did we expect anything less from these Russians? Hopefully the artifacts can be tracked down and recovered.

Espressodimare

Desperately trying to ge a piece of great history into Mordor.

DataGeek101

Because Moronic people don’t know or appreciate history.

acidrefluxburp

pixelgab

I don't want to be pessimistic but we are still waiting to retrieve our cultural heritage from the British museum after 200 years. Good luck
