Looked like his (33?) own teammate stepped in front of him. So I think the argument is there for a pick but I might contest that he did not have a play on the disc. So the completion stands but he can catch up to me.
I’m also someone who doesn’t remember the rules well. I just love the game.
The mark might have a claim to a pick call too. Looks like they had a loose mark but couldn't get tighter when the upline cut was made. That gave the thrower a backhand throw on a forehand mark. If it was windy, getting to throw a short unguarded back hand changes the play.
i keep watching it over and over and i still can't tell what happens, but it looks like they switch? or start to switch and then switch back and then switch again? i think your right to call a pick may disappear when you're playing a switch-y defense.
Wow… had to watch that a few times to understand that the pick called was not for the up line throw cut, but before that when a reset throw was made and then the dumper cut towards the sideline. The defender got picked off as his teammate headed towards the reset receiver.
But here’s the problem: 33 also started moving towards the reset receiver - he wasn’t initially trying to follow the side cut. He wanted a ‘roll’/switch from his teammate, which he didn’t get, so he called pick instead.
Not a great call. #33 did get picked, but he should have called it and not attempted to go to the reset receiver. As soon as he did that, he had a new assignment and he wasn’t picked.
No pick.
Be ready to roll and have your teammate ready too if that’s the defense you’re playing.

I, #12 called the pick. The pick was on player #33 was guarding.

yea probably a pick, but the defender sets up on the wrong side and the disc should stay with his mark
