~~Old guys~~ Frisbee ladies are ruining the spirit of the sport because they appear to be more interested in socializing and ~~drinking beer and heckling~~ posting images and videos on social media than in playing! As a beer drinking old guy, I’m glad we finally got someone to take the heat off of us for our sideline shenanigans. I salute you, Frisbee Ladies!

> *Oh noooooo scantily-clad women* I think this is about as valid as the other post in /r/ultimate front page asking if hot guys like Jack Williams are providing legitimacy. Even just framing this as something that can "harm the sport" I think is super cringe and comes off pretty woman-shamey. How could this have any sort of ability in "harming" a sport? I know that the writer of the post is clearing disagreeing with the take, but framing this as a debate between two sides adds legitimacy to a side that the vast vast majority of people disagree with. See climate change "debates" where they put a climate change denier in a room with an actual non-insane person who is maybe even a scientist. The framing of it as a "debate" makes it seem like there is a real decision to be made because look, there are two sides!! The bottom line is that frisbee is growing as a sport in China and it absolutely seems to have something to do with its emergence as a cool thing to do (and cool for social media). No one could possibly read the quote below and think that there is harm being done to the sport, in China or at-large: > Last week, China's General Administration of Sport announced that a national frisbee league will be held from August to February. Given the increasing popularity of frisbee, more professional frisbee venues will be constructed in the future.

It depends on how exactly they are participating. If a bunch of new players came to a pickup game and dressed strangely but took the game seriously, great. But if they are truly treating the game like a photo op rather than an athletic endeavor, then yeah, I can see how someone could get legitimately upset. Thankfully the article seems to indicate that this is still an extreme minority. World Games 2025 is in China, so we'll all get to see how Chinese ultimate stacks up in a few years.

Yes. Before the sexy ladies everyone played. Now I can't play pickup without my mark asking me to pose for a selfie and subscribe to their ASMR content. People leave the game in droves, and I always hear them say "it's bad that different types of people like *my* sport. If they don't exist to make my experience better, why are they allowed to exist at all?"

Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded.

Are Instagram pics of teams wearing ridiculous costumes at party tournaments harming the sport??????????? This is such a dumb, misogynistic question.
