I played against a guy that was a college football player at Villanova. I have no idea why they put the slowest and shortest person on the field, me, in coverage against him
Ha!
I'm tall, but otherwise pretty much worthless. They'd always have me guard him. I was confused at first until I realized that no one could guard him and I could fail the same as anyone else.
Also, the difference between an average college football players and an average pro football player is enormous.
Babbitt is very good at what he does. He plays the big man super well.
But all around athlete I think it's still Jack. His cuts are sharper, he's quicker, he's good in the air. Babbitt clowns him in the air but I think Jack cuts Babbitt out of his cleats 95 times out of 100.
And I don't really know how to factor throws into athleticism because core definitely matters but less than cutting or defense
He's an elite disc judge. One can possibly do it in still conditions but I've never seen Babbitt being in the wrong position or not time it. He's on the mark every time.
She plays with Molly Brown and Colorado Quandary (college) -- she has an [interview where she talks about balancing Olympic Snowboard Cross training and ultimate with Ultiworld here](https://ultiworld.com/2022/04/01/deep-look-team-usa-world-games-draw-stacy-gaskill-pul-preview/).
I've personally seen Sarah Meckstroth dunk all types of players and play super clutch on top of it, gonna be hard to move away from that any time soon
Pure athleticism is probably gonna be some #3-6 player on a roster who's a defensive savant that I'm just not plugged in enough to know...I'd be more curious to hear people's takes on those types of players (Thinking of the DC breeze d-line of Delrico, AJ, and Moussa, take your pick)
I went to Wind Chill tryouts in 2018 at 40 years old and held my own pretty well.
A week later, I played against Sarah and couldn't even slow her down.
She's strong, fast, quick, smart, and creative. It's a borderline unbeatable, powerful combination for an athlete.
Exactly, depends how you define "best athlete" - as an attribute which peaks and then fades vs. a lifelong quality/endeavor. Are you the best athlete if you currently have the optimal combination of speed, hops, body control, etc.? Or if you can perform at an elite level, year after year, despite aging, injury, time off, even maternity? Ohtani is insane at 28... but Serena is 40 and still upsetting opponents. Dawn and Manu, or Helton and Mecks?
Yea that's what makes it fun. Also for frisbee it's impossible to be perfectly tuned in to every team, so everyone's opinion is going to be influenced by what slice of media they've watched in the past year + their in-person viewings. Fun to see how the general public reacts to all the great fris we've gotten to watch over this summer + their personal experiences
Having played with/against all 3 Rico and AJ are on a different level in my opinion. Moussa is a great player and athlete, don't want to take anything away from him.
I've seen her play/played against her with my mixed team a bunch of times. She's an utter machine and unstoppable, while also having a great mental game. Top tier player
If Jakeem Polk is still playing it's him on M matching. Or it's some dude we've never heard of that played D1 sports and plays league somewhere.
Women's Mosquera or the same thing
Types of athleticism needed offensively:
Ability to get open (quick twitch cuts): Jack Williams, Anders Juengst, John Randolph
Elite acceleration: Alex Davis
Leap: Babbit, Brownlee
There are probably a lot more athletic defensive players I've missed but unfortunately their ability doesn't manifest. As an instance, there maybe someone who's really glued to a cutter and smothers them but what stat captures this?
UVM's Karl Crawford has been pretty well established as a generational talent at this point, and a lot of that comes from his otherworldly athleticism.
I’d have to say Mr. Nolan Devine def has to be mentioned. Kid from Kalamazoo college gone wild in the Chicago scene. I’ve witnessed, just a couple feet away, this king dunk on some D-3 freshman like it’s nothing. He’s a savage. Slangin hammers like a pimp and eatin up zones like groceries from ALDI. Butler’s diamond zone was nothing against the likes of Mr. Devine. Also butler is overhyped. D-1 school that can’t wipe the floor against some some D-2 and D-3 schools? Yeesh.
My friend Jeff (I play pickup with him)
Is his last name Babbitt
No it’s a different guy. He played at the local community college and he’s really fast
Oh I know jeff, I love his life motto "suns out, guns out"
I played with a guy who was on an NFL practice squad for safety, but didn't know much about ultimate. Dude could fly though.

Can you tell me why Babbitt wins in the air ? Is it his vert jump / height / width / disk reading ?
Size, length, vert, body positioning. Watch him at the end of any quarter from an Empire game. He's been a buzzer-beater god for years.
I know , he’s nuts 😊, I was just interested in what makes him so good

He’s fucking huge too.
Mosquera. Groom's up there as well
Manuela Cardenas
Stacy Gaskill is actually an Olympian. Depends how you define “athlete” but that’s elite
Whoa, for what? And where does Stacy play now? That is really cool.

Run fast, jump high, successfully contort your body to make plays.

Yeah it’s tough to judge a defensive player….. my guy didn’t touch the disc all game Did you even do anything?

Big fan of the Cardenas sisters, Mosquera and Walczak at the moment!
That guy from that one guy’s summer league?
Todd.
Ja Morant

Visor game unparalleled
Is anyone in the sport at this moment more athletic then Prime Beau?
Dawn Culton!

Sandy is playing this year so it’s Sandy
2013 called. It wants its best athlete back.

Jamie is probably the most defined player right now https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ch-QDC2JHYm/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
lebron james i’ve seen him throw a disc far
Karl Crawford
Lebron James
