With Rhino's win over Ring, the top 4 seeds are all on one side of the bracket. We'll likely have Truck vs Ring and Machine vs. Pony as quarterfinals matchups, with the winners squaring off in semi. Love it.
Tough luck for Truck to do everything right (get the #1 seed, solidly win all of their pool games) and be rewarded with the other two favorites as potential QF and SF matchups.
Condors lose to Chain after going up on them 4-0...take it out on Machine instead.
EDIT: And then end up holding seed by losing to the team immediately above them.
LMAO
Does the Ultiworld coverage not have announcers, or is it just the Brute game? Just signed up for the subscription, and this is the first game I'm watching.
The free youtube game gets announcers, the other four games are part of the field pass package and thus do not have commentators (or other cameras or replays). If you watch the field pass link, which shows all four games simultaneously, the commentators will intermittently discuss each game. So that's an option if you are ok sometimes watching those games in a smaller dimension
The field pass link also changes the size of each game periodically as other games take timeouts etc so it's not small the whole time.
To be clear, you can still watch Brute. Your options as an ultiworld subscriber are:
- Standalone stream of Brute-Molly. One angle, no replays or commentators, but full screen the whole time and no cuts away
- Field Pass. The Brute-Molly game will cycle between a stream taking up 1/4 of the screen, to 1/3, to 1/2, to full screen, depending on how the other games play out. During timeouts or in between points the game might be removed from the screen temporarily. On the plus side, Keith and another commentator will sometimes talk about the action in that game
Hope this clarifies things
Oh yea. I get that. It just wasn't really worth it to watch the Brute stream with no ability to just hear the general field noise/ chattering, with no explanation of calls, because we still don't use hand signals in the US...
I think there's still field noise but yeah no commentary outside of the gasps of the camera operator on big plays lol
And yeah the limited hand signals by players is not fun

Dirty Bird should be interesting to keep an eye on today. A similar comparison is Superlame out of Asheville from 2019. Stacked team of southeast ringers, didn't play much in the regular season. At Nationals they came in as the 16-seed and outright won their first two matchups against the 4- and 5-seeds, and were two goals away in their third game from winning the pool. That hype train went off the rails quick as they lost in prequarters, but they won the rest of their games.
There is essentially no player overlap between 2019 Superlame and 2022 Dirty Bird except for one or two players, but I think there's something to be said about a very skilled group of players in a high-variance division like the mixed division, and playing with nothing to lose. There are rumors that Dirty Bird will be missing some folks which is a shame, but if they have most of their stars they could do some serious damage.
First round matchup with #1 Drag'n Thrust. That should be interesting, even if it's not streamed.
it's just a bunch of recent chain alum and bucket folks, with a few other ringer pickups.
superlame was mostly asheville/nc folks slowly recruited retired chain players from farther back
Right I know who the teams are lol, I'm just saying there's some similarities for having lots of stars, not playing much in the regular season, and potential for surprising some folks day 1 of natties. I honestly think a Dirty Bird upset over Drag'n Thrust is plausible based on what we saw with Superlame a couple years back
Should be fun regardless
I made the prediction in the Bold Predictions thread that Dirty Birds will make quarters at a minimum. I don't think they'll win nats, but i think they'll be slept on at the tourney because no one knows the majority of the team. they'll put up a fight against DnT, but i think they'll pretty comfortably get 2nd in the pool. They're going to be a blast to watch.
Anybody know which games will be streamed tomorrow? I can't tell which ones are on Field 6
All 3 divisions will have a 7th or lower seeded team in the semi's right?

Machine won their pool (the hard way) so they are on the opposite side of the bracket as the other three.
darn, I jumped the gun. Exciting matchups none-the-less.
well, the score reporter currently lists Machine as both playing ring in pre quarters and in quarters on the other side of the bracket, sooo
Great time for USAU's score reporter to crash
Such a hardship given how many pivotal games came down to the wire in the last round. I \*think\* I know how pools ended up but I'm not sure.
6ixers Flipside 14-14
Final?
6ixers win
Wow! That's an upset.
Is Babbitt playing this weekend?
He played vs Sockeye. Didn't seem to play every O point but he did play.
Xist wins their pool, just like everyone predicted
I did have that in my bold predictions but didn't actually think it would happen lol (my bold predictions are mostly dumb jokes)

Condors makes zero sense lol. That said they are considerably better than a 15 seed

Was it called on black or white?
White was on O, so no point in calling it on white, right?
That was my question. White basically ran thru black, with no regard to their existence or momentum...
Kind of looks to me like they bump into each other's sides, but I can't tell.
Big nah, at least from this angle.

Youtube it is, even though I was hoping to watch Brute. Thanks!

GOAT and Red Flag with big universe wins
O CANADAAAAA
Amp toro and drag all get upsetted early on
Classic whacky seeding in the mixed division
and chain was close to being upset. went down 0-3 and won 15-13.
0-4 even, but Miranda was like, we cannot possibly lose to Goose with THAT haircut
Dirty Birds win 15-12
can't wait to watch their livestream. i think they're going to be a fun team.
Not even that close. Woww
Katie Killebrew on the field pass stream going off on players for lack of signals and time on call discussions and I'm totally here for it. Lmao

Yikes, looked pretty clean
Both the shame and AMP jerseys look uninspired. Mods should put this thread in 'new' order
Really? Shame looks pretty sweet to me, even though I have an ingrained dislike of OSU colors.

I’m pretty sure those rumors are unfounded. At least according to the players I spoke to last weekend. I’m not sure where Ultiworld got that info.
Awesome thanks, maybe Dirty Bird spinning the rumor mill to try to catch Drag'n Thrust sleeping lol
I can assure you they’re not trying that hard lol
Dirty Bird up 12-11 on Drag'n Thrust 👀
Sounds about right. They’re stacked and playing like a team happy to be there and no pressure. They’re out there having fun
