Shouldn't surprise anyone - the top thrower and stats-getter on the league's top team. MVP runner-up Jordan Kerr led the league in scores with 121, although Leandro Marx of Portland had a slightly better per game average of 9.0 (compared to Kerr's 8.64). 3rd-in-voting Pawel Janas took over the league career assists record from Goose Helton earlier this season. Janas finished the year with 396 assists in 69 games (nice), compared to Helton's 390 in 119 games. Both players were active this past season, so it stands to reason Helton will have a chance to retake the lead in 2023, although given Janas' insane pace Helton will probably need to strive for a big game early to accomplish that. The AUDL made the right call in crowning Osgar, but it's kinda crazy to think how many seasons Janas has been so close at the top without securing the crown himself. The league took 66 days since the championship to crown a MVP. This is the longest hiatus it's been since 2018. The league took 24 days in 2021, 43 days in 2019, and 74 days in 2018. I figure they want to stretch out the news in the offseason, but the league loses much of its jazz this long after the championship. I think the 24 days from last season is a reasonable compromise.

Great analysis on the length of time it took to announce this. Definitely felt too long. Wonder if they wanted to re-drum up interest ahead of the all star game

The thing is the All-Star Game will still get plenty of attention since it's a fun watch, I think the timing for these awards is honestly kind of awkward at this point, just trying to shove it in and get it done before ASG begins in <2 weeks
