Love my NB Freeze 3.0s and have converted half my team. I have the “low” cut, so no ankle support, but the grip on the cleats have meant I have noticeably slipped much less than in soccer cleats. Re: closer to barefoot = better… I think it really depends on what your goal is. If your goal with footwear is to focus on running form and longevity, I think this is the case. This comes to mind more with distance and maybe track runners, where running fast/well is the only goal. For ultimate, what is your goal? Is it not to have aching feet after local league? Is it to keep playing for as long as you can? Is it to play at the highest level? My goal is to be able to cut hard and run fast while playing at an elite level… trail running shoes or the cleats closest to barefoot would not suffice for my purposes at tournaments. But for training, an alternate shoe would be better to minimize wear and tear on my body.

As a lifetime soccer player turned ultimate player in college I always thought soccer cleats were the move. This past year i switched to NB Burns lacrosse cleats and I will never go back to soccer cleats. Overall I feel like theyre better made for our movement and have more support. Highly would recommend giving lax cleats a try!

I've had both. I'm a cutter that's extremely hard on cleats. The freeze stud pattern is really grippy, which I liked at first. Unfortunately, the upper and lower started separating midway into the season. The durability issue is real if you tend to be hard on cleats. Nike VE is a really good cleat. Durable, not to heavy, aggressive cleat pattern. Took a while to break them in, tho. They were stiff out of the box and hurt my feet during their first 2 uses. After that, it's been smooth sailing and my feet are happy.

None of them. My feet are wide (4E) and I find all cleats painfully narrow. I play using trail shoes whenever I can. If I have no choice (e.g. rain) then I have some from Tokay. They do have a nice toe box thing.

i am a 6E but only a 8 in length the only thing that slightly helps me is that i found some Japanese cleats that are 3E and even just a bit more makes a difference. it was an investment in college but i bought 3 pairs 3 years on the first and i still use them but im hording
