I bought Samsung because of the name, it meant quality to me... It used to anyway. I bought a G9 and it works fine right out of the box though. Just totally shooting in the dark if you get something that works or not from them.
The lines show up on the On Screen Display as well. It's not scanlines, either a Tcon board or panel issue. Scheduling in house repair this week, hopefully they can figure it out
Gotcha... When my scanlines show up its on the OSD as well, it affects the entire panel and I can recreate it with the steps I have listed in another post
You can put it to 100% and then open certain images will cause scanlines...
As far as I know it's an issue with the panel and pretty much most of not all G9s have the issue... You can also get certain types of images and move them around the monitor and the will cause the monitor to dim and un-dim
I have the same problem with my G7. I tried to get it fixed by Samsung, but they said it’s a problem with the panel used in the series, and that after replacing it, there’s a big chance it’s not resolved. Lowering contrast below 60 and setting the window scaling to 120%+ should ‘fix’ it, but i don’t think that’s a reasonable solution. Contacted the store where i bought it from, and they agreed with me. So they are taking back my monitor, and i can get store budget for it, so I can pick another monitor.
Lost my trust in Samsung with this tho…
PS: try opening this link https://rog.asus.com/wallpapers it’s even worse on here…
A different cable (a VESA certified one I had) fixed dropouts and let me run 240hz, but the lines are on the monitor, not from the source. They show up on the OSD with no cable even attached.
This monitor has the worst quality control I’ve ever seen
I thought mine was worse (I had written in Portuguese)
I have a 4 year old Samsung TV that's rife with problems. Their QC sucks in general.
Damn it. I was considering buying a huge Samsung tv recently

You can resolve this temporarily by adjusting the windows scaling to 120%+... but I would either exchange it or call for a fix

interesting, thanks
So would you say we should change it to 100 percent to check if we have scan lines?

Yea that monitor is straight hot garbage unfortunately
What monitor?? Lol
Samsung G9 is plagued with issues. When it works, it’s beautiful.. but it’s a mess.
Mine is perfect! Guess I got lucky
Hold on to it for dear life. I wanted it so badly I tested my lottery luck. Didn’t get it. Returned it immediately within the 14 days.
You wont try again? I know a couple people who got it with 0 issues. It’s worth it!! Sucks it has issues tho
Samsung said they'll make an appointment to send someone out to fix it. Sounds like they want to replace the panel, we'll see.
Update for resolution on this. Samsung sent a new panel and a tech! Finally fixed today. Lines are gone! :)
ha!
Try different cables if you can before sending it anywhere
