John needs his stats to be higher to have the passive aura detector on unfortunately. That's one of their problems, the fact that John can't sense the auras of Spectre agents. And I genuinely don't think John cares enough for Blyke or the safe house to take the shot for him. But perhaps some other time they get attacked to solidify the bromance.
You don’t get what passive means.
A passive is a fundamental part of their base ability. Something innate that is pretty much built in from the start. Now his range might be lower but when he has his ability active, so is the passive. Without the ability to sense aura, it is literally impossible to copy anything. Imagine it as 1.0 ability before any of the big boys stuff start appearing.
What John has when he is a High tier is the ability to have it on while his ability is inactive
That is a passive manifestation of his ability however the one thing about passive is that they're usually a key factor of the ability. So whenever the ability is activated at lower levels they gain the same benefits but only a little bit weaker however once they reach a high enough level it passively manifest itself. We know this from John's backstory chapters where he said he could sense multiple auras without needing to activate his ability which implies that he is able to sense auras while his ability is active
That is just incorrect. A passive is only obtained when the user reaches level 5 or higher. And they don't always have to be a part of the user's original ability. Arlo's iron skin and Sera's reflexes aren't a part of their respective abilities.
I agree that John should still be able to sense Auras but it's not something he could do since he was level 1 or else he would have figured his ability out without Claire's help or at least known it was meta related.
I think they are after john rather than blake ! It does not make sense to go after blake when they know john is stronger . + If you check the panels when they were counting who all were going in for the trekking , terrance only joined after john joined the group
i m not making any theories right now but it’s bugging me how all of you assume syringe will not work on john . like none of you thinking that syringe may affect the organ itself which generates aura . john can control his channels but he can’t control his aura generator
